One big issue is the kicking in general. I was at a preview of the Adam Goodes doco yesterday and watched the replay. It was obvious our kicks almost always are higher and slower than the doggies. Every one landed in a contest. Doggies are better in the air and we contest well but just don’t mark as well as most other teams. And a long standing issue is Melbourne ability to over praise our players. I know that sounds silly on demonland but it is obvious in preseason. Petracca hi five after a mark and before a goal is missed shows again his unique ability to be the only one in the stadium shocked at his miss. Overall he is getting better before the end of the year as he is not feared by opposition as much now. I believe viney Oscar harmes and Brayshaw are going ok but they lift a very heavy load every week. It must be frustrating that so many others on the ground are incapable of helping.

After I settled down, I really like the Tracc for lachie and swap 1st round picks idea.

I want to see T.Smith and the Weid in the forward line. Im a bit bullish about the bull.

I thought Lockhart was more involved in contests than Hannan. Id have JKH for either.

He jogs to contests and doesnt give 2nd efforts. Better than your post DH.

I think Frost errors are down significantly. He contributes well, although unsteady. He is overly castigated here.

The main reason is we only have about 10-14 contributors every week. This week our best 3 of that lot were overwhelmed by Zorko and Neale. The rest lost confidence after Tmacs dropped mark. If we elevated the best at Casey each week and dropped consistent non-performers, Wied, Hannan Petty for example it would make shouldering the load easier. The coaching sucks because they insist on constant blooding dropkicks and ignoring JKH, Lewis and Pruess.

This unfortunately seems to be the overwhelming sentiment on here. Im not sure that was what Kanga Kennedy was trying to instill at hawthorn.

Makes me reconsider my 6 possesion games. I guess Weid will print that line out and hang it over the mantle.

No I havent seen him live at Casey except on the internet.. I do hope he proves me wrong. I am against us trying to find form by playing in the seniors. Other teams dont do it nearly as much as we do. Look at who we are playing into form at the moment: Weid, Tom Mac, Hannan, Viney, your boy Harry and next week Lever. Looks to me Tracc has been played into form so a tick there. Other than Tom and Jack, Id let the other 4 prove it. And although Im a huge fan, Tom Mac isnt back. We saw a glimpse which if you like proves it works. But for 25% of the team? No from me.

I think Hannan gets a more than fair go from DL'ers. He hasnt done anything this year except show me his quickstep which is no good if you dont get the ball or cant outrun an opponent without falling to ground. And Id like to see some upside from Petty, but I cant see it. I keep hearing it is there though. Having said that, other than a good kick, Wiedermann gets a pass on here from little. Im a fan of Tim Smith. His efforts yesterday were very good. He seems to have got rid of his kicking yips.
