Came 6th in the AFL coaches award. Amazing result. Also voted best young player by the AFL coaches association. almost double the amount of votes from second. (Menegola) will be a star
  2. Jarred rivers was also a great intercept mark... overrated
  3. They are 100% correct. The manic pressure that they need isn't sustainable. Not sure why we can't replicate clarksons game plan that has won them 4 premierships. Get the players foot skills up to a higher standard and play keeping off. No need to recreate the wheel
  4. Dees aren't going to give up overs for this kid. Tom Mitchell was traded for pick 14, omeara pick 10 and 2018 second round, hibberd pick 29, Lachie Henderson future first round pick, Prestia pick 6. lever isn't better than any of the above. melbournes first round pick this year should do the deal and at worst 2nd round next year. im glad some of the posters here are not deciding the future of the club.

Should poll in the top 10. Might even make top 5
  6. The best teams have 100 point + wins 2-3 times a year. If we want to be the best then this is the new expectation. I think this will come with time when our current core players hit 150 games and 25-26 years age. Might be 2-3 years off from this.
  7. Lever has had 1 good year. Future AA and captain are all unknowns. No club has ever offered more than a 1st round and late pick for a player like lever.
  8. 2 first rounds??? You have to be joking. He has only had 1 good year and plays as a 3rd tall back. Gary Albett went on 2 first rounds. Worth a pick in top 10 and a late 40's pick.

Gray had a terrible 1st qtr and wasn't at all influential in the last. In such a dominant performance the 1 vote should go to the winning team. Take your pick of viney, Oliver, Tyson and even hunt.

What a one eyed piece of %#^* Triple m should sack him from their panel ive just gone onto twitter to give him an earful. Everyone should do the same
  11. Haven't won 4 in a row since 2006.
  12. I've actually spoken to an assistant coach at the club and he tells me that Lewis has taken both watts and Oliver under his wing and he credits both of their improvement this year to his work in the back ground. Thankfully TGR plays absolutely no part in our FD.
  13. Good point. He has also just turned 31. Mathew Boyd, Robert murphy and Dale Morris turn 35 this year. Andrew Mackie 33.
  14. "Unlike Joeboy, I didn't have the luxury of sitting back, assessing his whole game, reflect, ring Finey then type like a warrior." You seem to have plenty of time sitting on this forum goading melbourne supporters.
  15. He was voted by the players into the leadership group after 7 weeks. That says it all. He will be the one directing the plays when the game is in the balance and will be instrumental come finals time. That my friend is priceless and puts him in the top 5 most important players in the side. If we have learnt anything from the Bailey days is that you need to strike a fine balance between experience and youth. Just ask Anthony Mcdonald what he thought about his role at GWS.
  16. Who led the dogs last year? Your lack of football knowledge is on show. Matt Boyd - 290 games Dale Morris - 230 games
  17. All the respect to drop him next week for Gawn...
  18. You are an absolute [censored]. you can't measure what he brings to the side in experience and leadership. he is like having another coach on the field. We are very fortunate that you have absolutely nothing to do with the MFC.
  19. Not too sure the FD have the same mindset as you. Mid season is a perfect time to asses the list.

FD are starting to plan for 2018. My understanding is that we need a minimum of 3 free spots. Definite outs: Lumumba Contract ending 2017: VandenBerg, Kennedy, JKH, Hulett, Mitch King, White, Tim Smith, Trengove Have no idea how Garland got 3 years. Contract ends 2018. I'm thinking: Lumumba, Kennedy, Hulett and White. Trengove might get rookie listed or traded for a late round pick. Thoughts?
  21. The G is a ground that needs big men. We would have beaten Freo if hogan played. We would have beaten Richmond if spencer didn't go off at qtr time. we would have beaten hawthorn if we had a ruckman. we would have beaten north with a ruckman. Having either gawn or spencer makes us a 2-3 goal better side. hogan also makes us a 2 goal better side. not sure when the last time a team played the G without a ruck and won?
  22. Round 3: average age - 23 years 10 months average games - 67 With Brisbane the youngest and most inexperienced side for round 3. inconsistency will likely be the theme this year
  23. @praha can we add 'win round 2'. Haven't won in 10 years. also, can we add the ultimate goal... 'win premiership'?
  24. If those players entered the Dees during the Neeld or Bailey eras then they wouldn't have succeeded. I believe to a large extent tht structures and player development areas are more important than who you pick.
