The Importance of Jordan Lewis
He was voted by the players into the leadership group after 7 weeks. That says it all. He will be the one directing the plays when the game is in the balance and will be instrumental come finals time. That my friend is priceless and puts him in the top 5 most important players in the side. If we have learnt anything from the Bailey days is that you need to strike a fine balance between experience and youth. Just ask Anthony Mcdonald what he thought about his role at GWS.

Who led the dogs last year? Your lack of football knowledge is on show. Matt Boyd - 290 games Dale Morris - 230 games

Time to show Oscar some respect!
All the respect to drop him next week for Gawn...

The Importance of Jordan Lewis
You are an absolute [censored]. you can't measure what he brings to the side in experience and leadership. he is like having another coach on the field. We are very fortunate that you have absolutely nothing to do with the MFC.

Our record at the MCG
The G is a ground that needs big men. We would have beaten Freo if hogan played. We would have beaten Richmond if spencer didn't go off at qtr time. we would have beaten hawthorn if we had a ruckman. we would have beaten north with a ruckman. Having either gawn or spencer makes us a 2-3 goal better side. hogan also makes us a 2 goal better side. not sure when the last time a team played the G without a ruck and won?

The youngest most inexperienced side
Round 3: average age - 23 years 10 months average games - 67 With Brisbane the youngest and most inexperienced side for round 3. inconsistency will likely be the theme this year

When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
@praha can we add 'win round 2'. Haven't won in 10 years. also, can we add the ultimate goal... 'win premiership'?
-
In Jason Taylor we trust!
If those players entered the Dees during the Neeld or Bailey eras then they wouldn't have succeeded. I believe to a large extent tht structures and player development areas are more important than who you pick.

When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
Can we also put on this 'winning premiership' if we are going to have a goal we might as well have the ultimate one

Clarence Oliver
In all fairness, parish had a blinder of a first season and will greatly benefit when his banned brother return

The youngest most inexperienced side
Melksham might have been on the list but never played a game. The youngest side reflects who plays that week, of which Melbourne was the youngest side for 14 rounds. Adding 260 games, 114 games and 90 games will have a difference to the average. The last game of the year vs Geelong our average games was 69 games. I presume this will bump up to 80 with these inclusions.

Delistings
Couldn't find the previous thread... Who will the Dee's delist in the coming weeks? Usually there are 6-7 that make way. I think all below are on shaky ground. Michie, White, Dawes, Terlich, Newton, Grimes, Max King, Pederson Not too sure who else is shaky, who will be traded and who will be on Rookie list.

The youngest most inexperienced side
This round: Average games played - 61 Average age - 23yo Again, youngest most inexperienced side of the round. Even GC went out with a more mature side. Any suprise that our season is such a rollercoaster? We have fielded the youngest most inexperienced side for 15 rounds this year

Lynden Dunn
Im staggered that O Mcd is getting games in front of Dunn. I dont even know who they plan Oscar on. Hawthorn arent exactly the tallest forward line in the league. He will most likely be matched on gunston or bruest who will be stronger, faster and smarter than him. We might as well hand over 4 goals to hawthorn before the game even starts.

The youngest most inexperienced side
We were also substantially smaller. We gave up on average 4kg to them. Ussuly weight and height are standard throughout the league.
-
The youngest most inexperienced side
We wil no doubt have a rollercoaster year with 14 players under 50 games... Will be improved slightly with Jetta, trenners, Tyson and pedo coming back in.

The youngest most inexperienced side
It's not really a record. Just a record in the comp this year. I haven't gone back to last year but I don't think we are far off.
-
The youngest most inexperienced side
Didn't think we could go any younger but we did. Record youngest side this weekend. 23yo 2 months. 57 games average. 14 players under 50 games. I think GC and GWS first games had a more experienced side. Might be the youngest side that we will field for the next 10 years. We are building something special here.

The youngest most inexperienced side
We fielded our youngest side all year this weekend. Great effort to come home with the chocolates
-
The youngest most inexperienced side
Saints averaged 100 games today. Dont under estimate the effect that reiwoldt, monty, fisher, dempster have on the side. All 200 game plus players. We just don't have that.
-
The youngest most inexperienced side
Still the youngest and most inexperienced side in the competition. These loses are expected
