  1. Seems that this might be a lock for next year. 7 plays 10 and 8 plays 9. Would be gutted if Melbourne made the 8 only to be kicked out in the wildcard round. Also can't see how a team would possibly have a chance coming from 10, playing an extra week and being any type of force in the finals. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/afl-fixture-revamp-finals-wildcard-round-increasingly-likely-in-2018-20170518-gw7xcq.html McLachlan joked that if he had his way the wildcard round would even feature this season. But he may only need to wait 12 more months to get his wish anyway. "There was more interest in a wildcard round leading into finals than I thought there would be," McLachlan said
  2. I can't see hunt playing. I think the club has a policy of 1 week off after a concussion regardless how the player is feeling. Hunt had a big hit and seemed to be out for a while. stretch in for hunt
  3. Such a good kid. Has such a positive outlook on the situation. We will see him back sooner rather than later.
  4. Wouldn't be surprised to see him back in 6-8 weeks considering no chemo required. I think getting back into the routine will help him.
  5. What?? Hogan is out of the side for foreseeable future. The no hogan effect will hurt the side and should be discussed. Our forward line wasn't functioning well on the weekend before Goodwin made changes. Not sure we would want to be 28 points down every week and rely on Plans B and C.
  6. Good point. I think there would be some coaches that had moderate success that could give it another go. Mathew knights and Sanderson to name a couple. the problem is that club boards are too conservative. if they pick a coach a second time round and it doesn't work out then they have to face the backlash and criticism. If a first up coach doesn't work out I think there is less criticism.
  7. Was Oliver's goal a goal???
  8. Not much in in it??? It was a clash of heads and would have floored most players.
  9. What??? This was an accidentel head clash by 2 players going for the ball. Its a miracle that brayshaw only suffered mild concussion. Most Players would have been knocked out cold. Not too sure how you can say he is more susceptible to concussion when every incident would have caused concussion to others. just bad luck imo
  10. Hawthorn are playing their 3rd game in 14 days... in fact most sides technically play 3 games in a 14 day period
  11. We essentially got hogan with scullys compensation pick. A win in my book
  12. Wagner down back will release either Salem or Vince. Both can kick goals and have forward impact
  13. so what you are saying is that Mitchell could have only made it on possession style, keepings off style sides??? That shows a real lack of football IQ if you believe that.
  14. Sam Mitchell also wasn't 'damaging' but was the cornerstone of the hawthorn side.
  15. Kent has strength and leant get pushed off the ball... JKH loses in the contest and isn't skillful enough to compensate for this
  16. He seems too small and light for AFL. Also, isn't quick or skilled enough to make up for his small stature. Will find it hard to find a position
  17. Goodwin in the after march presser said that brayshaw came up well and that was a chance to play this weekend. i think he came off as a precaution rather than a serious concussion.
  18. We lost because our ruckman was out after the first qtr and our whole structure changed. Richmond won through arse luck
  19. 30000 posts and this must have to be your most moronic
  20. Should have been 4-1. Very few teams can lose their rucks at half time and win.
  21. Agree... we were a tall short against Fremantle and that cost us the game. Weideman is injured and won't play. We need 3 talls in the forward line and 4 mid/smalls. talls - hogan, watts, pederson smalls/mid - tracca, Kent, garlett, ANB
  22. MCC members should be ashamed. The ball is thrown in on the members side in the last qtr. dees need as much support as possible and the members area is silent. It's like they are too good to cheer. Melbourne doesn't need supporters like that.
  23. Marking power? Tracca (185cm) and hannan (189cm) play tall. Watts will play 90% up forward and weid is close to 195cm. Not sure if we lack marking targets .
  24. Most clubs don't have more than 2 ruckman and a third project option. We aren't any different
  25. Round 3: average age - 23 years 10 months average games - 67 With Brisbane the youngest and most inexperienced side for round 3. inconsistency will likely be the theme this year
