  1. i doubt they'll drop CJ. This is what Daniher did to him throughout his career. Granted he's no superstar but to continually give him one game then drop him is no good for his confidence. Im sure Bailey would have said to him, you've got 3 weeks, show me what you can do.

As for ins and outs, although I am a big Garland fan, it's probably time for him to get some confidence playing for Sandy, remember he was taken in the same draft as Frawley and Petterd so ease up on the kid.

    In Whelan Out Garland.

Moloney, Petterd and Bate all need games for Sandy, we should be raring to go Round 5 v the Blues.

Finnaly some sense... those 3, if Bails follows his 100% rule will be running around at Sandy this Sunday (?) unfortunately.

Jamar will be in for one, Garland might get the chop and maybe Robbo (unlikely unfortunately)

  2. Foira was also known as Richard and Ribs (dick and ribs) cos thats all he has got.

    Bell --- Ding Dong?

    Carroll -- -- xmas (nice)

Austin Wonaeamirri - Powers? or Goldmember? As in Austin Powers...

  3. Jeff White's days as a ruckman are over but I beleive he could be re invented as a running CHB he would add much needed height to the backline also with his experience he knows where to go this would allow him some time to set up play he has still some very good football in him I also believe David Neitz should now become a pinch hitter and come off the bench put Brad Green to Full Forward we need his leadership and experience whilst in transition to bring on the Zomers and Martins.

Newton has a big opportunity f he gets his mind and produces seacond efforts with defensive skills, but I have my doubts ? What are others opinion on these moves

hhhmmmm that is an interesting prospect. He seems like he has the tank but does he has the desire to put himself into tough marking contests multiple times a weekend? Not to sure. Worth a thought if PJ comes back as well as he has played.

Who would then be 2nd ruckman? Surely not the Russian?

  4. I don't think he reads the ball coming in well at all.

He is ALWAYS behind, and never catches up and rarely effects a spoil.

He has people who love him and others who don't. I'm not sure defence is for him as MJP alluded to he always seems to be behind and rarely effects a spoil from what I've seen.

  5. It's not our small forwards or Key forwards are the concern. Newton is only every going to be a second maybe third tall forward and reminds me of Robbo, high flying but lacks work ethic.

    Our present listed Key forwards

Neitz, Robertson, Miller, Holland, Dunn, Newton, Garland. Not much here to get excited about

A rookie may turn out to be our best option, Zomer 196cm 93kg kicked 7 yesterday.

The only issue with that is Zome's kicked the 7 in the Sandy 2nds... I think he mioght need to kick a few bags of 7 in the Sandy 1's before he comes through. Saunter sounds like he might have a few weeks off care of the tribunal so he might get his chance over the next few weeks.

  6. Maric didn't kick a goal yest but maybe BeachRoadBazza can fill us in if he played ok. From what we've heard he sounds like he could be a good one for us, was disappointed he didn't play this week to be honest.

Valenti kicked another 3 yest he might be an option if we can get him on the list (read yze retire)

  7. ALMOST as good, not AS good.

I know I know, just being fascitious. I don't think we should be happy we lost but it was a better showing, lets hope it is onward and upward and we can sneak into the 8 winning round 22 by 95 points to get in by .01%

  8. Well.... first game we were COMPETITIVE....now we just need some Skills and Better Decision Making !!

Some blokes can feel proud of efforts....some need to hand in their jumpers

we should not be happy we still lost but much better effort, hopefully it is starting to come together and be a defining moment in Bails 15 year 8 premiership reign at the club and not an abberation in a long dark season of 1 win and a draw

  9. Could not agree with your more, and C Johnson, C Garland & C Sylvia to join him.

CJ another one who doesn't seem to have found the pace of the big time. I'm sure he will get a few more weeks over the season to see where he is at but doesn't look like quite being able to make an impression at this level.

Wonna had a half decent debut!

  10. 3 VOTES.

WORST ON GROUND (By a truly epic margin)

    R. ROBERTSON.

I cannot believe how lazy, selfish, and just generally poor some of his efforts have been this afternoon.

His body language is rancid when everybody else is having a crack.

Back to the magoos for you next week son.

Agree but Garland would not be far off. He has a dip old Col but just doesn't seem like he has found the pace of AFL.

I've been telling people to give Robbo the benefit of the doubt but he looked terrible today. Like you said D just a lack of interest in everything he has done this year. His turn overs into our F50 are so lacking in any thought process. "See ball, jump for ball(no matter how many team mates I farken jump into), just kick ball, ddeeerrr"

  11. Watched the first half and our endeavor was 100 times better than the first two weeks.

Still using the switch like we've been trying for the first two weeks but it was paying off.

Our pressure on the [censored] was causing turnovers and goals on the board.

Our skills and descision making are terrible. We are the worst skilled and worst descision makering team in the AFL by a long way. If we can rectify those we will actually come close to winning games as our poor skill level cost us 5 goals in that half....

Miller was presenting really well up the ground giving the guys coming out of defence a target. Bartram was looking good with tackling a highlight.

Aussie W looks likely, you can see why they put him on the list. JRiv is just a star he gets to contests most blokes wouldn't come close to and spoils. Carroll two terrible mistakes that cost goals but has been doing well none the less.

PJ started the first really well like last week but needs to be able to run a half/full game out. White was also doing well but Blake was able to sneak away for a goal when he was sitting as a loose man in defence.

The fitness still looks lacking for mine, Geelong were able to get away a towards the end of each qtr with harder running.

Overall an improvement but we still have a long way to go. Keep working hard boys and fight it out!

  12. Love the optimism of the thread. It holds some water but watching the Doggies last night and the seeing them and the Hawks first hand over the first 2 weeks shows how far behind we are. We've all know the issues it is time to start showing some improvement.

Does it frustrate you to see other sides roll out 2nd yr players who actually look like they can play AFL footy whilst our young players coming through look average?

Fraser might be spending a fair amount of time in the ressies..

  13. No Maric? I thought he played a decent game on the weekend at Sandy (from reports I've seen) and we have really battled for small forward crumbing. Aussie hopefully comes in to fill a void and run and chase all day!

  14. As MFC have shown that we are little one paced when it comes to possession of the ball and breaking opposition defensive efforts. A lack of leg speed also makes it easier for the opposition to run off you and reduces the defensive pressue you apply.

A good football brain with the ability to perform under pressure...We could use a few of them.

Agree we are very one paced, even Flash looked like he'd lost a step with the added muscle he has put on. But we also do not have enough gut busting runners like a Mitchell, our blokes don't have the heart to push as hard.

If Valenti can make smater descisions than our current players then get him onboard, I mean you have fella like Buckley (who I want to see play most of the year) who has pace but handballs to no one more often than not.
