  1. I rarely watch the "footy shows" any longer but I just happened to go for a wander with the dog and plonk myself at a pub to have a meal on this lovely balmy evening. It so happened they had 360 on, minus the sound thank [censored]. Between mouthfuls of duck and an ave red wine I saw this headline of "Robbos" tweet "Mark Robinson: Essendon need a review into its coach, players and officials after poor start to 2022 AFL season". So after wandering home I thought I'd check the kayo showing of his [censored]...

So after seeing the above Gerard then goes into a little spiel about it before throwing to Robbo "I think something will happen in the next 4 weeks anyway Gerrard,  Hawthorn this week, I think they have Port Adelaide way, they got Rich dream time and their 150th celebration is the Carlton round 10 or 11.... I don't like looking to far ahead but Ess could be 1 and 10 or 1 and 11 and that state of the season I think it is imperative the EFC sits down and looks at the football program... list management, executive... whole club situation... (get you facts right you massive dribbler!!)

Then he goes into Rutten.... and plenty of images of him looking under the pump. Crickey then they go slamming Stringer with "Why does Jake Stringer get injuries get injuries and take weeks to get himself right".... Gerrard then goes into Stringer doing another hammy... but they then show images of Stringer bringing his kids over the fence onto the ground after the loss.

Robbo is borderline incoherent and footy clubs need to protect these guys better especially from rubbish like the above on TV tonight. Where are other people besides coaches and players fronting the media to allow the players and coaches have a breather from the intense scrutiny?

How is it they have been promised $30M for a project that hasn't started, while we have only crickets chirping for a project that hasn't started?

It's pretty bloody annoying to say the least. I know the club is doing everything it can but man the lack of announcements with all the money being thrown around by the fl o g pollies at the moment is disheartening.

Shiel is discussed in Point 5 of this article:  six-points  It talks about his strengths being assets at GWS but underutilised at Essendon where his weaknesses are then exposed.

"The simple truth is this: Essendon, a young team that plays a short-kicking game and seems intent to move the ball slowly towards sole tall target Peter Wright, has no use for a player like Dylan Shiel."

He has several years on his contract reported at $800k pa.  If Ess can't use him effectively that is a lot of coin out of their sal cap.  Like other teams that want to do sal cap dumps for a seemingly 'non-essential' player they may be better off cutting their losses and accept an average draft pic ala GWS (Patton, HWSNBN), Coll (Treloar, Stephenson, Phillips).

But then it is Dodoro clubs will be dealing with.

We are not one of the teams mentioned where he might be needed.

Sadly for all of our lols they'll improve in this area with Mahoney running the show.

The main reason I would prefer you not bother comparing this to Garry *Hocking changing his name is because it trivialises something that means more in the positive to some than it does to you in the negative.

You can call it precious, or call it manners, or whatever, but I just don’t see the need to make it known that you don’t like something that is meaningful to a group of Dees fans that haven’t been embraced in the past.

Great point but I think it’s a group of people that haven’t been embraced in the past, not just Dees fans.

*Hocking did it for personal gain Ie $$$.

Before you all bite my head off im not one bit suggesting we chase him at all.

I heard Tom Browne (yes yes I know..)  mentioned that a prominent Melbourne club has shown interest in Dylan Shiel.

Only reason I bring him up was the Mark Williams connection. In a interview few weeks back Gawny jokingly asked Chocco what would it take to bring Shiel to the Dees and Choco smirked and said something along the line that he was tired up with his contract.

Wonder if it's us that's sounded out his management.

I thought Clarko and Wright had both left Hawthorn.

Please make this happen. It would solve all our problems. A new training ground, space for admin and a social club...and get those ferals far away from us.

    PS: Won't happen.

If this is Kate Roffey’s doing to get us a home base close to the G, well she is a genius!!

  7. Sam Mitchell really does have some Brad/Chris Scott vibes in the box... While he is in his early years it will be smiles and a couple of puffed out cheeks but once they should be contending he'll really turn into an arm flapper and chair roller backer. 😆

So we'll be going in without Salem, Petty, Jackson, Pickett and Sparrow (and Hibberd, depending on your views on him).

Hawthorn, meanwhile, will be missing Jiath, Lewis, Grainger-Barras and two ruckmen (McEvoy and Reeves).

Jiath is massive for them, I was really interested to see how he would go against us, shame.
I’ve not watch much of the Hawks this season, Grainger-Barras was dropped which i found surprising as he has played some good footy and I thought was one they’d ride out a few ups and downs with.

Look, prime time TV Thursday/Friday night stuff is great to an extent, but any chance we will ever get a traditional 2:10pm Saturday afternoon game again - ever?

Ball looked so slippery at times against the Tigers on Anzac eve and I feel it did bring down the skill level a bit.

Nostalgically how many of those games will we see again, very few unfortunately.

I presume we're all going through the exercise of working out who's most dispensible?? Or more particularly who isn't.

Gawn/Oliver/Petracca/Langdon/Brayshaw are clearly irreplaceable. Fritta is borderline.

I know WCW wont be happy with this, but I think that May is. Tomlinson would come in and Lever/Petty/Tomlinson and several of Hunt/Bowey/Rivers/Hibbert/Brayshaw/Smith (hmm?) is still a pretty good backline. Any of Hunt/Bowey (although preferably not)/Rivers are replaceable by Hibbert/Smith.

I think pretty much everyone else is replaceable.

It's a shame that Oskar Baker wasn't able to perform better when he had his chance.

I'm sure everyone is hanging out for further news.

Nope, I’m really relaxed about it, i hope the players, staff and families are all doing well but otherwise can’t wait to see how the team and the individuals (from Yze and Co and 2s players) perform against those [censored] Hawks.

Thanks guys. Whatever I do I can only get it down to around 36kb and I've tried on the lightroom app as well. Never mind. They should have it all grassed by next week I imagine.

This is harder than finding a home base.
