JAKE BOWEY APPRECIATION THREAD.
That feat has already been achieved twice, David. Nathan Buckley at Brisbane in 1993 and Chris Scott the year after. Justin Koschitzke at St Kilda in 2001 followed by Nick Riewoldt in 2002. By the way mate, are you still in Ohio or have you made your way back to Oz?

Tassie…. Devils?
If the AFL were to send us down there (not gonna happen) we could be the Van Demons.

NON-MFC: Round 3, 2022
I'm not sure what the cut-off point is where you are deemed to be no longer standing the mark.

NON-MFC: Round 3, 2022
It's a deliberate tactic. By moving that far away, they are not subject to the "Stand" rule. Of course, it allows their opponent a clear 5 - 10 metre run forward. The Dogs coaching team must think it is worth it. I'm not so convinced.

My English teacher once accused me of plagiarism. Her words, not mine.

POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs Gold Coast
Shouldn't that read couldn't care less?

POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs Gold Coast
That's perfectly fine tu and each of us makes that decision. I'm not trying to tell people to mute the commentary if they would prefer to listen to it. The point of my post is that if you choose to listen to the commentary knowing full well in advance what it is going to be like, then don't clog up threads complaining about it. You know what you're going to get.

Max Gawn - Slow start
Bundle him up in a package deal with Luke Jackson, which should get us something decent in return.

CHANGES: Rd 03 vs Essendon
Conversely, we never seem to hear of osteitis pubis any more, whereas it was rife a few years back.

Farewell Luke Jackson
Could somebody send me a PM when something actually happens with Jackson's contract? Not interested in uninformed opinions, guesses, speculation, bed-wetting or shadow-jumping.

POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs Gold Coast
I couldn't agree more.

POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs Gold Coast
That's fair enough, binny. Then again, you're not one of those who complains about the commentators.

POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs Gold Coast
It happens every week in the gameday thread, Froggy. It's like buying your lunch from a shop that you know sells terrible food then complaining that your lunch is terrible.

POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs Gold Coast
We all know that Brereton/Dwayne/Healy/BT and the rest are terrible commentators. No arguments there. Why then do highly intelligent people (ie. Demon fans) make a conscious decision to listen to them when they have the option of pressing the mute button? Further, what do people who choose to listen to these clowns think is being achieved by clogging up threads with their constant whining about the standard of commentary? Nobody is forcing you to listen. It's your decision.

GAMEDAY: Rd 02 vs Gold Coast Suns
A win is a win and four points in the bank. Take out the complaints about Hunt, the umpires and the commentators and this thread would be three pages long.

What they are saying at Carrara
David Bowie's real surname was Jones, but he changed it because there was already a Davy Jones in The Monkees.

NON-MFC: Round 2, 2022
Missed the cut and named as emergency.

How important is luck in influencing a result?
I stand doubly corrected! Let me tell you, it's not a comfortable stance.

How important is luck in influencing a result?
Albert wrote that lyric in his song "Born Under A Bad Sign" before Ray wrote a song with that title, so I guess that makes you technically correct (which, as we all know, is the best kind of correct!).

How important is luck in influencing a result?
And while we're on the topic of luck ...

How important is luck in influencing a result?
According to the inimitable Ray Charles, "If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all".

What they are saying at Carrara
That would be Mr. Neil Diamond.

What they are saying at Carrara
The problem is that very few footy fans are saying "I'm A Believer". For their sake, I hope that they are not just all Tork.

NON-MFC: Round 2, 2022
Never mind the respective comebacks of Sam Docherty, Paddy McCartin and Jesse Hogan. The real story in team selection this week is that The Big Prussian, Brayden Preuss, has been named in the extended squad and might finally make his debut for GWS.
