Interesting.

Maybe. But they’re still irrelevant in the AFL and I can’t see it changing.

Who are these nobodies?

Don’t care what St Kilda have to offer, they’ll always be a bottom 8 side, even with all these picks. No one in the history of this game has thought, [censored], we are playing St Kilda, that’ll be a tough one.

Assistant Coaches in 2026
Any updates on who’s going to be coaching for us (assistant wise) or any other roles we have vacant, and if not; timeline of when usually they’d appoint these?

2026 Rule Changes
Would be good if they at least kept it for the start of the quarter. Make it a moment of significance, indicating the start of the quarter. Even reducing to only the first bounce of the game. Makes it significantly easier on umpires backs if that’s the actual issue.

Like your thinkin. How long is the turn around where we are Hawthorn?

Gotcha. That would mean they would have to play the likes of Laurie etc. Probably pushes us back 5-10 years for another crack. Richmond suggested it would take 7 years for their rebuild,

We would need the picks to leave the hole of not having him, right? Or would you argue the salary is more important so we can bring in more picks via higher pay?

Didn’t he skip something last year to go overseas and train? Was it the best and fairest? I agree, I don’t think he has much of a right to make that claim. I would find it very strange that they would push out a norm smith medalist, and someone who was instrumental in our success, and someone who has four years left. It would seem strange to make someone with four long years left hate the club they’re playing for.

You’d hope. As a supporter you know we do. As a player? Surely right? They’re poo poo.

Got to pay overs if we are losing Trac.

I think that all clubs are having similar issues, players have started shifting from being club first players to self first players, just look how society is now days as a perfect example. I don’t believe a club should significantly change for one player, if all 40 raised the same issue and nothing was done then maybe it’s a club issue. Christian has been through heaps and to be honest I think it’s best for him and the club he moves on. He has displayed that he’s not happy for quite some time, with body language and selfish on field plays for the most part. Gus was such a club man, but a club can’t be held together by just one man. Once you have poison in the water, the whole tribe drinking it down stream will go down with it eventually. We should get people who want to be there, and have that type of brotherhood such as Brisbane state they have. I believe once he leaves, and they adjust to fill the gap on field, then after sometime the club will build that culture and feed off it. I’d love to see Gus come back in some sort of coaching role one day. He’s a wealth of knowledge and I’m sure would be very beneficial.

Not sure anyone can say they’re just talking the talk, they’re making moves, whether it pans out or not isn’t really my point. Said it someone else, all I’m hoping we take from the offers at hand, players wanting to move etc is that we go hard and display we are a strong club who isn’t going to give up easy or be a pushover at the trade period.

Don’t disagree, I’m just saying I respect the hustle, maybe not the tactics. Hopefully we play bullish this year and put on a show. Adelaide are known as being a touch trade team and cheap, we should also be known that we aren’t going to rollover.

Maybe true. But you’re missing the point I am making. We should be bullish and selfish in the trade, which hopefully has started under Guerra’s watch.

I listened to the St Kilda pres night speech, their president was great. He said something so strong and bullish and I wish Tim Lamb was like that. He said “we are not here to make friends” and "Recruiting aggressively as we have, no doubt involves a degree of risk ... (but) there is no risk-free way to a flag and indeed, doing nothing is the greatest risk of all," Maybe we should take a page out of their book. Maybe it doesn’t pan out, blows up in the faces and we all have a laugh, but maybe it works and we look like bafoons for not taking risks.

I’m sure he will be saddened by your omission. 😂
