I think I’ll ask Jake Lever what he’s focusing on at the moment.

I’m a hell’s bells supporter. If people are concerned about the segue to Its a Grand Old Flag then it could be handled by having a pause between the two.

My tips
#2 - keep it vacant for 2022
#21 - Jacob Van Rooyen
#22 - Taj Woewodin (some players want to make their own way. Others want to pay tribute to their fathers. I think Taj’s story is so much like his dad’s that 22 will suit. Still Woewodin)
#27 - Luke Dunstan
#39 - Deakyn Smith changes number (Neville’s understudy)
#40 -
#41 -
#43 - Judd McVee (always liked Guy Rigoni
#45 - Andy Moniz-Wakefield (tribute to Matty Whelan)
#46

Judging by the size of his father, I have a feeling that there’s still some room for growth there.

I see Zac Foote has left Casey for QLD?
Pity that because he was a quality VFL player. I suppose the problem is that there is very little room or money for such a player in the VFL, especially once the realization sets in that he isn’t going to get drafted. Very few get a second chance.

Where does it say that the Herald Sun obtain these measurements though? Measurements are recorded for the recruiters purpose and also just from a development point of view. They wouldn't just release it to the HS for 'Mock Draft' purposes or most media outlets. Even on Cal Twomey's recent Phantom mock Draft he's still listed at 70kg.
From the horses mouth.
“I’ve put on about 10 kilos this year, so I’m about 80 now,” Andrew recently told The Age.
You’re not a very trusting soul are you?
In one of the posts above, Caligula’s Cohort has linked the Herald Sun article on yesterday’s mock draft. If you click on the link you will get to the article which CC cited. A couple of posts below is a post by Chelly which quoted Pick 11 going to St Kilda. Chelly also noted the height and weight particulars that are the same as the figures from the training article and which WJ highlighted in the screen shot in his post (with red border added). He paraphrased from the article that the players at Monday’s training “also had their measurements taken for the first time since the pre season”.
I will try to access the article later on and provide screen shots attesting to this if you still have any doubts. 😀

I'm confused I thought we only had 4 picks this has us having 5.
Surely the Herald Sun experts wouldn’t get it wrong, would they?

It's being reported that Vanders has signed with Old Xaverians in the VAFA.
I would assume that he would have a clause that releases him from that deal should an AFL club draft him.
This article refers to him as a West Australian (!!).

He came to Melbourne from Canberra and at one stage was set to go to Sydney because he was supposed to have family there.

Yeah I heard that. He also said Carlton are listening to offers for pick 25.
Wouldn’t Carlton desperately need pick 25 now that Liam Jones is off the table?

Didn’t we do a similar thing last year when we dropped James Jordon off the senior list and then rookied him. It sounded like a smart move to enable us to have an extra pick in the main draft but could it also have backfired?

Rachele looks amazing. I’m not sure as to whether he would fit into Melbourne’s thinking but he might end up at Gold Coast with pick 3 (after the father/sons 5).

James Jordon.
Good get. He was pick 33 in the 2018 draft but didn’t get an AFL game until this year.

Why are they getting the advantage and we are not ? I have forgotten the rationale about the NGA but Dsicos and Darcy are under Father/Son.
Because clubs whinged and whined about compromising the draft and the advantage to the Bulldogs in drafting Ugle-Hagen at pick one so the AFL did something about it. Clubs are now prevented from matching bids on NGA’s in the top 20 (next year it goes to 40). Personally, I think that’s a gross over- reaction.

Obviously Sam Weideman needs to step up on the past few years so he needs a big season.
I think Bailey Laurie after missing most of 2021 and not playing much in 2020 due to Covid-19 has to also have a big pre season, get really fit and bull up to put himself in the frame for selection.

I'm still a annoyed we recruited him. We could have selected Dylan Grimes who Richmond grabbed with the next pick.
Dean Bailey seemed frustrated that we missed out on Luke Ball so McDonald was presented as a "gun" recruit instead of the plodder that he really was.
What a sliding doors moment that would have been for Dylan Grimes and the family. Jack was getting established with the club and the Grimes clan were committed Demon fans but that rookie draft selection of Dylan was significant because he’s become a triple premiership player with Richmond while Macdonald was at best serviceable over a much shorter space of time. Another bad choice of player in a sad and regrettable time in the club’s history.

I think Geelong are finally on their way down and will hit the floor with a bit of a thud in the very near future.

Will he be one of the players being tested for the draft at Sandringham next Monday?

We certainly need another ruck.
The article on Woewodin also refers to Josh Cripps and says he “would love to play in the AFL alongside his brother, Carlton captain Patrick”.

Good luck to Deakin. College sport in the USA is a big deal. They attract big crowds and the larger colleges get nationwide exposure on tv. Hope to see him soon on ESPN.

Just take the example of Christian Petracca who isn’t resting on his laurels and training himself to get better. That demonstrates his attitude to improvement. The younger set need to respond and do likewise.

I have no doubt Sparrow and JJ will be "better" than Dunstan at some point in the future.
Already are - both premiership players.

Meanwhile, the Age reports that about 5000 of the 11,500 eligible Collingwood members voted at their election which decided their next president after more than a year of upheaval. They boast they have an actual membership of more than 80,000 and yet, such a low number are able to vote and a much lower number actually bother to do so.
