Yes I believe we are going to be based in Maroochydore in the Sunshine Coast.
Novotel Twin Waters is a good base and known to the players. Maroochydore Roos ground is where we trained over prior 4-5 summers. Lots of facilities and socially there’s less trouble for the young blokes than in the GC.Only small issue is it’s 2 to 2 hour bus trip from Twin Waters to Carrara for Metricon stadium.
So it looks like the eight players they’ve taken up to Queensland are in quarantine apart from the rest of the team which makes sense.

I would suggest that when we play them this Sunday, there will be possibly nine different players in the team.

If we had of beaten the bombers we would be only out of the 8 on percentage
If Tomlinson’s kick was straight, we would have beaten Geelong and been well placed to get into the 8 if and when that game against the Bombers ever gets played.

Apologies if it looks crap as I’ve done it on my phone. Names bolded are not currently in the team, injured, or no longer at the club. That is A LOT of change in 12 months! Hopefully we build some consistency with selection now as we had better structure on the weekend.
Has there been any news on Tom McDonald’s eye injury?

In today’s paper, Petracca’s disposal efficiency for the game was 64% but I’m sure the commentators were attributing about half that to him. Where do they get their stats from?

You watch Richmond will hit some form now.
With 9 changes to their lineup, I somehow doubt it. They might sneak through this week because they’re playing the Swans.

The Sidebottom story ain’t nothing compared to the news about to go down about another one of their stars.

We’re underdone with five players coming in with two of them playing for the first time in over a year. Essendon showed how shaky they were after a 15 day break and for their accuracy kept them in the game. Can we really expect Melbourne to kick straight when our key forward has kicked 1.6 for the season?

They’re saying low grade at this stage so he’ll be borderline to play us in 2 weeks.
They always do against us.

This is outrageous. Of the first six rounds, only one home game - assuming we stay up north for another week, that would make it 1 out of 7. As a bottom six finisher last year, we should be expecting 9 home and 8 away games. If the club doesn’t demand that then it will struggle for members going forward. Weak as ...

Big news out of Casey Fields is the possible return of popular Demon ruckman Jake Spencer who has been linked with the club along with North Melbourne VFL defender Ryan Morrison and Richmond VFL small forward Luke Nelson (who was mentioned above by the spirit of Norm Smith).
Casey will have four “home” games in the seven match fixture but they won’t be held at Casey Fields which isn’t available to them. A ground in Frankston is a possible alternative.
Spencer would be the dominant ruckman in the competition.

In the circumstances whereby a player tests positive after breaching AFL Covid19 protocols then his club should forfeit the points for any match that can’t be played as a consequence. If the AFL and the club in question had any integrity, that outcome would be accepted by consensus and we all move on.
This.

Carlton tearing the Cats a new one. Shows how great we were last week.

The problem is that we’re now behind the eight ball as far as our preparation for our next game is concerned. No compensation for that and later in the season we’re going to potentially have a crowded fixture.

Maybe they can get Wale-Buxton back. He was a pretty decent back up ruck when he was at the club.
I think he signed up with an interstate club at the end of last season.

The weather will definitely be a factor on Sunday.

How the hell did Lynch miss that goal in the final term. He was literally right in front. As JB said it was harder to miss.
He’s been watching Melbourne’s forward line too much.

The idea appears to be that he won’t be quite ready for the restart but without a VFL competition, that means another week or two of training.
I wonder however, if he continues to impress at training and the AFL allows two extra interchange players, whether he might be given a limited run against Carlton.
Apparently, the extra interchange isn’t going to happen.
