This has been around in one shape or form for a while but it always raises a bit of a chuckle - Deciphering the AFL Draft

OK. The melbournefc.com.au site has this vision of the lads training yesterday in the wet conditions at Gosch's Paddock - Pre-season training footage. Safe to assume nobody observing and taking notes would have been able to read them after that downpour - and that's assuming there were any bona fide spectators there at all. -
Perhaps that might be because they are going to charge for viewing? If they do that then I'll seriously consider canceling Foxtel altogether at least until the footy starts again. How can they justify having a dedicated football channel that shows reruns all summer and makes you pay for the one "live" piece of broadcasting in that period of time?

I would prefer best player available for pick 9 and not necessarily needs. On that basis, clearly SCPaige's pick 10 would be the way to go.

Comes in to bat to a rousing reception and a guard of honour from the Windies.

See changes made to OP. -
Is it still red and blue?
-
I think it was initially WYL's suggestion. Anyone know where he is?
-
To answer the question posed in the OP, Kumar got Chanderpaul out today for 25 in West Indies' paltry 182. India 0-37 with Sachin to come in at second drop in his final test. The way things are going, he'll probably only need to bat once.

Brett Anderson's Inside Football Mock Draft has us taking this player:- Suits me.

Thought I would start a thread early for tomorrow's training but please also feel free to report on yesterday's training which missed its own dedicated thread due to our server issues. Anyone go?

Shame on you Redleg for not updating us over the last couple of days on the countdown to the draft.

The process is about as transparent as the one which led to the appointment of Grant Thomas. Choco will be the coach and I doubt the Tigers would put up a fight if he really wanted to go.

I fear this is going to end the death of the no DH policy and in tears for the Sydney Swans. The Buzz: Buddy Franklin insults Sonny Bill Williams and Phil Waugh all in a days work on Oaks Day at Flemington

There is almost no known way that we will be recruiting this bloke but if his name is called out early he would be a factor in determining who is available to us and who we might pick. Having selection #9 in this draft is interesting to say the least. Pies and Lions fight for raw McCarthy

And though mayest become a Free man.

I'm getting the feeling that Freeman must be firming for Melbourne's first draft choice. I haven't seen Aidan Riley play but he's another recruit who's supposed to be an inside midfielder. Sooner or later we are going to take a player who can break the lines with pace. Freeman seems to be the one who can do that. I believe these are his correct details for height & weight Height: 184cm, Weight: 85kg

Liam Jurrah's attempt at a comeback
Whispering_Jack replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in General Discussion
Thanks ... there's a bit of noise in the twitterverse to the effect that Liam might have kicked 7 goals today but I'll stick with my mail which comes from the NT News which is a solid Murdoch product of the Aussie variety (cf News of the World). Whatever the number might be, it's a fair effort for the bloke but still nothing to get carried away with given that Damien Cupido kicks that many in his sleep up there these days and a local player from Vernont, Justin Van Unen came up to NT a couple of weeks ago and kicked 12 and 9 in his first two games. -
Didn't we agree 12 months ago that it was going to be at Wong's in Elsternwick?

A Wonaemirri pass results in a goal that brings the margin back to two goals halfway through the 3rd term.
