Former Brisbane Lion Leigh Ryswyk becomes first openly gay AFL player
I don’t want to take you to task here Ethan (and I am not), and I really love your view. It should not matter. But, it is so much more than a sexual identity. The sexual side is kind of a moot point. The AFL is a hyper masculine patriarchal community (although shifting). The courage of an ex AFL player to stand up and come out, is to be celebrated. This is a social issue. Some seem to want to talk against this issue (not you). But hey, I look forward to the day it is not an issue. Having said this, I appreciate your values.

2026 Injury List
Fritta. You never put your hand into a dog fight. I think it’s common knowledge, but common knowledge isn’t always common. I’ll add PF. My version of common knowledge, is you consistently like to see the negative and stick in the boots to our club.

Seriously? It’s the dogs fault??

The State of the Salary Cap?
Relax ppls. Contracts and payments are not public knowledge. I trust the club to have a strategy for future success. May’s contract was accounted for this year well before his retirement. Paddy’s rookie contract is minimal.

Welcome to Demonland: Ben Crowe
Interesting….. Calling out confirmation bias in others, to apply your own confirmation bias. Dog with a bone.

Welcome to Demonland: Ben Crowe
Ash speaks highly of Ben and his influence. I’ll take her word on Ben.
-
Welcome to Demonland: Ben Crowe
Ash was a nervous Nelly on big points and in big games. She hired Ben and started winning the big tournaments consistently.

Welcome to Demonland: Ben Crowe
Ask Ash Barty and the RFC. Maybe the issue transcends beyond Ben and it’s the MFC.

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs North Melbourne
How do you stat structure? Because my (as some will claim as useless) naked eye, saw too many short sideways kicks and/or short kicks moving forward without a structured viable option (or plan) up ground. This led to long 50 meter bombs. When we had the opportunity to move fast, we often did move fast, but options up forward into the 50 meter arc, or up ground, were not there. Often resulting in giving the ball to the opposition, or to an out numbered players. Stats have a place, but then they don’t. Anyone can give me numbers, but the ultimate number says we were not good enough to win games to play finals. Good structure and system produces wins. Not stats.

Easy targets. He ain’t wrong.

That is not a picture of someone in good health….

The List Manager Tim Lamb
Tim looked very nervous in that interview. Trac, Clarry and BH (rumours) was a big week for him. Overall, Tim and the club did well out of a bad situation.

Letter from the CEO Post Draft
Whilst I appreciate the sentiment and positivity The fact we have lost two players who should have, could have been one club premier players, still hurts. But I understand Guerra is not responsible for the past. Too early to take on the reality of this and not see this with a grain of salt 😪

Welcome to Demonland: Jack Steele
I don’t want to rain on your parade, but he can butcher the ball. But he has the same professionalism as Trac on the training track and is good in the contest. Being a past captain he will lead the way in many areas Trac did not these past two years. Nowhere near as inspirational on field as Trac.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
I understand Wiki is not a solid resource, but it was a second round selection. Demonwiki says the same,

I’ve been stuck on toilet for very different reasons this past hour.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
I would add JVR to your conversation. Prior to this year he was showing good signs. Jeffo in a new system may become a good player. Laurie Wass second round selection.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Thank god it is over with the Clarry saga. I won’t be watching GWS next year due to the trauma…

Bailey Humphrey
The noise within the media coming out of Essendon and Carlton is more about those two clubs. Prior to the King appointment I would have placed us in same leaky boat, but tides are changing and just maybe this is more of the same. Therefore I’m being hopeful , but sceptical.

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
I’m not sure the club would provide a coach such control in regards to decision making when they have only been at the club for 5 minutes. These decisions are supported by King, but not fully decided by him.

Can anyone inform me what the situation is with how many list spots we have open? With all our delistings and McVee, Clarry, Spargo, Trac leaving, It seems we have many leaving and only Heath coming our way. The math doesn’t add up. Particularly in a perceived weak draft in which we may need to go deep with using picks. TIA

Thanks Dannyz! Can’t help but feel disappointed not getting Humphrey.
