  1. This is how you command selection. Needs to come straight back in.
  2. The Suns will come up out absolutely firing and will set the tone for the game quickly. We will be in the back foot from the first quarter and will put in a similar performance as North. I seriously thought we would have turned the corner from an effort and intensity performance after some rather dour displays last year. But after putting up that game in Round 2 of the season, I have huge doubT.
  3. Well be joining Brisbane and Norf tomorrow I think.
  4. What on earth has happened to Aaron Naughton. He was clunking everything at one stage. But playing second fiddle KPF must be affecting him
  5. That is complete BS. You cannot tell me that was touched.
  6. How was that not a holding free
  7. If Carlton win a lot of focus will come to the Dees… brace yourselves.
  8. Harmes having a blinder. Don’t think I’ve ever seen him influence a game like this before. Good on him.
  9. Looks like Lever is out.
  10. Well that is reassuring then. It will just then come down to engrained behaviours to becoming more effective at it. Still need to fix forward connection though. Albeit it should be a little easier with a more open forward line.
  11. Everything looks pretty schmick. Did we lose bolded title threads when not read and normal text when you have read them? Same with notifications? The app is much more mobile friendly. Massive improvement. Edit: never mind, looks to be working.
  12. [censored] this has to be the most boring footy game ever. Is this what we look like to a neutral supporter?
  13. Deliver the ball like that to our f50 and JVR will kick 50-60 a year.
  14. Can you imagine this thread sat evening if we go 0-3, then the week after if we go 0-4. Can we double the page count in a 7 day run?
  15. May’s body is not holding up as well as I’d hope. He is incredibly vulnerable when the ball is below his knees and with more agile forwards. With the way the game is going I honestly thought it would be his last year this year. Happy to be proven wrong though.
  16. McClure Just continuing where he left off last year. Bailey is clearly dejected and is not buying into his new role at all. As much as I’d hate to lose him maybe he needs a new club to respark his output. At 28 his attitude can have an impact a young forward line both ways. Right now it doesn’t look great. A 2 round pick though is a bit ridiculous though in terms of value. That is equivalent of McAdam value, which he certainly is not.
  17. A couple of seasons? You have essentially described a rebuild. Minimum 5 years. JVR, Jeffo and Turner are still young and maturing. Won’t peak for another 2-3 years. They still have more development required in them. They won’t be stars but will be serviceable.
  18. Sounds like May will be playing which is some good welcomed news.
  19. I thought Petty made a few rookie errors. We have always been vulnerable with defensive ground balls. But no May & McVee was part of that issue. Plus the lack of any defensive accountability up the ground in the midfield was always going to put the D6 under more pressure. It was one game...hardly a trend. Lets see how it is on Sat before we start having meltdown 2.0
  20. So we know what the theme of season 2025 is going to be then.
  21. I think some of the damage done by Trac was irrevocable - enough to tarnish his reputation permanently as a candidate for captaincy. The only trait i like about him, is that he is a solid trainer and professional athlete - he will set good examples for the young team members if he stays, but that is not enough to be a captain of the club - just what i expect from every senior player. He doesn't have the humility or perspective to be a captain of the club, even if after everything that happened in the off season, he remains committed and loyal to the club, his actions at the time, spoke to a level of immaturity and self-interest. Can he overcome this? Certainly, anything is possible, but he is no spring-chicken and at 29 i doubt he has the capacity to change his ways. its a harsh take I know. But he chose to pile on the club, when it was on its knees. That to me is forever unforgivable. I'm mindful that I've been bashing on Trac recently, so this will be the last I mention it.
  22. I think that is a reasonable and pragmatic expectation. We should be able to improve faster than Hawthorn did over multiple seasons as their challenges were more from an experience and fitness perspective. We have the experience and we should have the miles in the legs over multiple pre-seasons. So the remaining variable is whether we have the prowess to take on a new game plan. Similar to what the Cats did in '22 albeit there game plan changes were more or less adjustments as opposed to an overhaul. On that, i think it again demonstrates Chris Scott's ability as a coach and tactician - perhaps the greatest?. Media give great plaudits to Mitchell for the modern game, but reality is i think Scott was doing it before Mitchell. Amazing i think it was Scott's response to try and take the game away from a Contest and Defense style, which we had just won a premiership for. You just hope that if we finally get around to having a list suitable for the modern game, that the modern game itself hasn't become outdated.
  23. There is always an exception, granted. But my point was that from a statistical POV they are an outlier. Banking wins early is critical, otherwise you find yourself chasing your tale for the rest of the season.
