  1. The other option to try is see how impactful JVR is as a key backman. If he is just as good as Turner is, i wouldn't mind having a longer term look at Petty / Turner 1 and 2 in forward line and JVR play 2nd tall Backman with Lever as the 3rd interceptor. We also need to consider: May / TMac / Lever in backline and Petty / Turner / Melksham in forward line. Not sure we have done that this year yet. Its also not conducive to the longer term prosperity of the team given the age profile in the key backs.
  2. I think Riv + F1 is a fair trade to be honest. a walk up HB /. midfielder and a first round pick which to be honest could be anywhere from Top 5 to late first round
  3. ITs a polarsing topic. They cannot play the same role. Turner is a more mobile 2 or 3rd tall, who IMV would take JVR's spot. I think we have better shape with Petty taking the first tall. He isnt a power forward in the mold of Sam Darcy or Ben King. But he competes well enough when the ball is delivered to him properly. We have nobody else that can play that role as good as Petty right now. People need to understand that. If we come out of a game 50/50 and Petty snags 1-2 goals, its a win for mine. Jeffo, JVR, AJ, Fullarton are all suitable to the 2nd tall role only - none of them have what it takes to play the role of Petty. Melksham for now takes 3rd tall and then we have the likes of Fritta, Kozzy, Spargo, Chandler, Trac, Langford playing through HF and the pocket.
  4. Doggies luck with talent continues. They are doing all of this without a number draft pick in JUH. Arguably playing with the comps best player in Bont, best Forward in Darcy and best HBer in Dale. Talent all over the park. Add to this Dale Libba and Richard’s who are very capable too.
  5. Yeah its always a no-win situation with those gronks.
  6. From the class of 2025, I'd give Melksham and TMac another year. Sign up Howes for 2 year extension, McVee gets a 5 year deal, Spargs a 2 year extension. Rookie wise AMW is really the only stand out that deserves elevation. The others i dont know enough about. 2026 - don't need to worry about it yet but i wouldn't renew McAdam or Laurie. May would be considered for a 1 year extension if his form warrants it and body allows, which at this stage is still good enough. Salem i reckon retires, whilst others at this stage should all be offered a new contract. 2027 Gawn champion - would love for him to get to 300 games. Going to be really close if he can manage his body right and we get to play a final or two. Realistically will probably need another year, which we should absolutely give him. Want him to be most games played, most games captained, most AA etc etc. He deserves every individual accolade. All others (bar Sharpie) should get another contract 2028+ too far away to make any major calls, but Viney probably retires.
  7. It’s official!!
  8. If goodys tenure comes under threat towards end of next year we aren’t fighting two fronts at the same time.
  9. There’s still a small part of me that thinks Hogan is a chance to come back and finish out his career with us. Maybe it’s just false hope.
  10. So if Cotton-On was considered 3 party payment, then imagine if the sweatshop in Bangladesh that was awarded Cotton-On's lucrative manufacturing contract, was also in on the deal and had indicated to Cotton-On that they'd partially fund the player payment by reducing production costs if they were to acquire a said player. I made that up by the way and the whole Bangladesh sweatshops for Cotton On was a bit of creative license. I have no affiliations with the Bangladesh sweatshop.
  11. I think he asked Max for a post game analysis at Entrecote. Max knows how that story ends and actually responded with a non-serious push away in the spirt of "Do you take me for a fool, fool"
  12. Why arent you working on the announcement post yet? Are you part of the MFC's marketing and communications strategy? The DL channel reaches a huge % of MFC supporters :)
  13. They are dire in need of some decent small forwards. The fact that they traded away the only really competent small forward on their list to WC (Owies) was a poor decision in retrospect. Granted he may have been asking for too much, however the Blues list management have made some real doozies. Matt Kennedy another one.
  14. Waiting for that post which takes a bit more time to load when compared to others - as Andy has embedded the announcement link - is both excruciating but also exciting at the same time.
  15. Andrew Dillon is fast becoming the puppet AFL CEO. He is bending to everyone's will, has no vision or plan. I agree on soft-cap increases but hte 20% of the senior coach sitting outside the cap is just an utter joke. The marketing income for senior coaches to sit outside the cap is absolute garbage. Just bake it into the salary cap, every club will find a way to move the coaches wages into this model. These guys are absolute amateurs. Beggers belief.
  16. Smart ball tech and AI just have to come in sooner rather than later to govern the match. Reduce the umps to 2 to blow the whistle, bounce the ball and throw it in, keep the goal umps as a token and remove boundary umps. Everything should be run by tech, it’s the only way this will be solved.
  17. McCreeys dash was measured at almost 22m. You’d give the umps up to 20% which is about 3m. This is an additional 50% of the allowable quota. Fn joke.
  18. Just reported on 360. $1.4M / year
  19. I’ve already been trolling. If he does sign I’ll go full attack mode on the LJ narrative just to stir the pot.
  20. Why am i not surprised by this. I just knew there would be more to the whole event.
  21. Interesting stats on Clarry. I think his blunders though are what is really holding him back - they are pretty bad. The commentary on FOX summasied it perfectly when he kicked it out on the full in the 4th. He is lacking confidence. It makes sense, its what is the difference between his current and old form. Sure fitness plays a part, but its his confidence. Clarry, 4xAA, 2xAFLCA, 4xBnF, is lacking confidence. If he can get that back, then watch out. But its a big-if. I hope for his sake and ours that he does, but im not sure. I have noticed though his desperation and 1%ers are increasing in recent times. His trademark clearance game is ok, but its lack of polish that perhaps was always this average is becoming even more evident in the modern game. Players sit off him, our team doesn't kick to him either. That must be playing on his mind.
  22. I just heard a few sound-bytes from the Korndog. The guy is a serious muppet of epic proportions. Now that wont surprise most. I wonder if there is anybody in the footy landscape including supporters actually like him or rate his opinion. I'm fascinated how he hasn't disappeared into oblivion.
  23. For a 1 point defeat its funny how the voting is so heavily Collingwood skewed. I wonder what it would have looked like if MFC had won by 1 point. Pendles was not worthy of the 2 votes. You'd give Daicos the 5 either way i htink. He was BOG.
  24. Im 100% in the keep Kozzy camp. This feels a little too long. A 5 year extension (on top of the 2) would have been more ideal. At the end of the day its probably what it will take to outdo anything that Freo may throw his way. What if all this noise was just to spook MFC and that GW was right from day 1.
  25. Dogga aint coming IMV. But keeping Kozzy is a must. Largely agree with your sentiment. We need 2-3 Good ball users with speed or agility (preferably both). Readymades obviously. Bergman is crafty and quick - get him in. Can we dislodge anyone else on the fringes? GWS may have a firesale again as the those not getting regular game time maybe fed up. If they miss finals, their maybe less enthusiasm around the place. I think i read Calum Brown from GWS maybe of interest?
