  1. In terms of our modest injury list, huge props to Peter, the club’s head physio. Selwyn along with Jacob (the club doctor) attribute this to him. Pete’s a very professional, no-nonsense type of guy. He’s quiet and unassuming and remains in the background mostly, but he’s clearly doing a fantastic job because luck isn’t the only factor in being able to field our best players. Onya Pete!
  2. The injury was sustained before the Mills collision in a separate incident.
  3. Yeah I saw the presser. A friend was at Casey today (behind the locked gates) and didn’t see Jack there.
  4. Vines might not be available this week. He didn’t train today.
  5. “If any of what you said was remotely true…” I didn’t misunderstand at all. I simply referenced your words, verbatim. Also, please understand that I bristle when I see someone being questioned about the validity of what they’ve shared. Once bitten, etc.
  6. I’m sorry but implying someone is not telling the truth really triggers me, especially when it’s someone like Jaded who isn’t given to making stuff up.
  7. Thank you @binman for your praise for the cheer squad! It’s really cool to know we’re appreciated. Please humour me while I do a bit of trumpet blowing 😁 We pride ourselves on how well-placed our props are. In particular we space the giant flags out in such a way that our depth is enviable (yes, other cheer squads envy us 🤩). This was taken on Sunday… Look how far back we go!
  8. I didn’t notice that. I should’ve since I spent quite some time on the Victory side of the fence but then again I was too busy trying to bum a *free coffee to notice anything. *by free I mean totally not free.
  9. He put on a decent-length show but I had to deep dive into the great abyss that is my bag. Meanwhile the phone was in my pocket the whole time 🙄
  10. The damage was already done before the Mills incident. Charles himself has said this. But I’m sure the Mills collision didn’t help at all.
  11. All good. I posted the quoted comment at 8am, at which time we knew he’d injured his scapula, we just didn’t know to what degree and it turns out it’s a fracture that isn’t as bad as suspected.
  12. Talk about humble! I told Bowser that we’ve always known how good he is but now it seems everyone else is taking notice. I quoted Kingy who said, “Watch out, young fellah. You’re on the rest of the competition’s radar.” I told him he’ll be minded from now on and he actually blushed. 🥹 He said, “nah, that won’t happen.” I said don’t make me slap a player! He said, “Okay, that won’t happen… every week.” 😅 He’s a quick learner is our #17 😉
  13. Spargs says it was the first incident.
  14. The thing is though, his shoulder was already an issue due to an incident a few minutes earlier. But yeah, the Mills bump wouldn’t have helped.
  15. Update: the coffee wasn’t free, not even for their members! Cheap bastards. After our boys had gone back to the rooms Salo hung around with some little Victory fans and was showing them his soccer skills. Very impressive and I wanted to film it, but by the time I found my phone in the bottom of my bag he’d finished up. 😢
  16. Spargs has indeed done a scapula but isn’t expected to be sidelined for eight weeks, the doc said it’s likely only four or five weeks because it wasn’t as bad as they oftentimes are.
  17. First time I’ve seen Shane since he was injured. He’s delighted to be out of the moonboot now and just wears a compression sock. He walks with a slight limp but that’s because he’s adapting to being sans moonboot. He’s in good spirits and is super keen for next season. He said he expects to be able to do a full preseason. He’s been doing heaps of other types of training, weights and the pool, the latter of which he loves. He talked about the timing of the injury being heartbreaking since at the time he was feeling the best he’s ever felt in his career and he knew his body was finally right. I saw AMW too but didn’t get a chance to say anything other than hi (got to see that killer smile though). But coincidentally I ran into his sponsors before training and they’d been with him this morning. They said he’s in great spirits as well. Andy and Shane and Koz didn’t train but came out at the end of the session to participate in a staff/player catch-up on the field.
  18. It’s a special Victory day today. They’re having a sort of family day coz they’ve made the final and guess what.. they’ve got a coffee van! So now I’m a diehard Victory fan!!! Their players are coming out now so I’ve gotta go and Google their names 😂 Hashtag I’ll do anything for a free coffee Hashtag it’s freezing here.
  19. Dunno but our boys are having an absolute blast playing with them.
  20. Judd vomits due to drinking too much water. He’s always had this issue except he doesn’t consider it a problem coz he feels so much better afterwards. Clarrie said to let y’all know that he’s yet to reach his best and that he’s working really [censored] hard on it.
  21. It’s raining and there’s no free coffee and surprise, surprise… not a weekender in sight. I am literally the only spectator here. There’s more Victory fans here and they’re not even training! Oh no, look at what’s on the field…
  22. Idk if there’s any truth to this but I’m hearing Spargs has done his scapula and is looking at 8 weeks 😢
  23. Speaking of past players, last night on 360 Garry said something I’m sure he rarely says publicly. He and Gerard were discussing the demise of Carlton and the comparison to us was drawn, with Garry starting his sentence with, “The team I barrack for…” This was monumental for mine. Garry routinely distances himself from us in an attempt to appear impartial but he (likely unconsciously) overcompensates.
  24. Yeah, apart from Owens and Wanganeen-Milera who else do they have.
  25. No suspension. It was a footy act.
