Totally! He really stood out today. He cuts an imposing figure. AJ is the sweetest person off-field, he’s quiet and gentle-natured. I once asked him about the Jeckyll & Hyde thing and he said, “I don’t know, I just step onto the field and instantly get white line fever, every time.” I thought white line fever was when a driver is kind of hypnotised by the lines on the road during a long period of driving, but clearly there’s a sports-related meaning as well 🤷‍♀️

Today I saw a side to Roo that I like. I told him the idea of him as a defender has been brought up online. He said, “Yeah but we need forwards.” I said I personally don’t like seeing him in the ruck since he’ll be bashed and smashed every week. He said, “You’re right but I’ll continue to ruck because I’m really good at it.” He didn’t say it in a bigheaded way, it was more matter-of-factly. The right amount of confidence is a good thing.

Today there was an air of sadness and it was hard to concentrate on what the players were doing. Besides, I spent some time babysitting the property manager’s adorable little boy, and some time playing with Bellanie Pickett while chatting with Ardu, also a sad part of the session. Incidentally, regardless of the recent events and how they impact him, Kozzie doesn’t regret re-signing.

I asked Chocco if he’d heard what Cornes has said. He said he has, but shook his head and said “Nah” in a dismissive way. It was as if to say what Cornes said doesn’t make a difference.

That would’ve been LMac, Tmac’s son Leo. Tmac’s fam attend training sessions a lot because Leo insists on going. He loves being there. I always ask little Dees kids who their favourite player is. One time Leo was standing nearby so I asked him who his favourite player is. I expected him to say “My dad.” Instead he said, “Tom McDonald, number 25, Demons.” So formal 😁

So sad saying goodbye to Chocco. Thanked him sincerely for all he’s done for us and wished him well for whatever the future holds. But before I started talking, he thanked me; a really warm and heartfelt thank you. I said I’ll still love him when he’s with another club. He said he doesn’t think anyone will be interested in taking him onboard. I’ve never seen him humble. I’ve also never had anywhere near a serious conversation with him so the whole interaction was difficult. It would’ve been easier had we just hung sch!ttt on each other like usual.

But everyone knows that anything I ever say on here should be taken with a grain of salt. I’ve been accused of embellishment, passing off guesses as facts and even straight up fabrication. Besides, I heard of this while with a group of others who also heard it so it’s not like huge attempts are being made to keep it quiet. He just has. His recovery is coming along great and he’s really pleased about it but he knows it’s time to call time on his career.

Sadly Marty Hore is hanging up his boots. He won’t be going on next season. 😢

Which is why I steer clear of those other sites. I recently asked a DL-er who’s been on here way longer than I have if this site has ever been worse than it is now. He said during the dark times (Neeld era etc.) it was very bad but in terms of personal attacks, sniping at one another and just generally being a nasty person, now is an all-time high.

I’m guessing Toby wore #34 because there wasn’t any other numbered jumper available. It fit him well so clearly they’ll have to make a bigger one for Kalani. Earlier this year I came up behind Ricky Mentha and asked him why he wasn’t wearing his own number. He said he was. I said no, you’re wearing #34. He said sch!ttt, I picked up the wrong jumper! All the boys laughed, then Woey Jnr asked, “Who’s number 34?” I said, “Kalani White” which was met with cheering and clapping from everyone ❤️💙

In January Kalani told me to “Watch out for Taj” (his younger brother). ❤️💙
