PREGAME: Rd 1 6 vs Gold Coast
Hey Ditcha, I’m not bothered by PF’s pathetic comment, nor should you be. Don’t let anyone deter you from posting on here. Hope to see you down at Gosch’s again sometime soon :)

TRAINING: Wednesday 25th June 2025
A couple of injuries: Ryleigh has a 5cm tear in her hamstring, sustained last week. She’s expecting to be right in time for the second *praccy match. Gabby has a small tear in her soleus muscle (calf). She should be right for the beginning of the season proper. Denby was wearing a moon boot. I don’t know the nature of her injury. Saraid came off towards the end and looked to be in considerable discomfort. She was nursing her left hand and they took her back to AAMI for treatment. *1st practice match: vs Hawks at Casey Fields on Saturday the 26th of July at 12:30pm 2nd practice match: vs Adelaide at Unley Oval (SA) on Sunday the 3rd of August at 11:30am

TRAINING: Wednesday 25th June 2025
I love this weather, Slartz! Most of the girls were wearing their numbers so it was only a matter of working out who’s who among the new girls. The girls are always super appreciative, no matter the weather. I was the only spectator until my DA buddy/boss lady/knitting supremo came to pass on a gift for me to give to Jibba tomorrow from the DA, the traditional player’s firstborn’s gift of a teddy bear with dad’s/mum’s number on its jumper.

TRAINING: Wednesday 25th June 2025
Firstly… 🥶🥶🥶 All the players are out on the park and they’ve hit the ground running. Full-on, intense training, and not a soccer ball in sight 😝 They all look INCREDIBLE Super fit and full of infectious energy. They’re in groups of various sizes doing drills. There’s this one drill I’ve never seen before but it’s a ripper. Two players handballing to each other low and fast and only a few feet apart and when the ball is partway between them a trainer clips the ball with a piece of hard plastic thereby sharply changing the direction of the ball. Then they do it with two balls in motion. Blink at your peril 😁

PREGAME: Rd 1 6 vs Gold Coast
JvR’s first milestone… 50 games. We made this week’s banner as well as next week’s (vs Adelaide) two weeks ago and left a space across the top of both lest he doesn’t line up this weekend. We have a printed strip acknowledging his 50th which will be stuck down prior to the match. It’s Kolt’s 20th birthday on Saturday (gameday) and hopefully he’s named in one of the sides (VFL if not AFL) because we have some Happy Birthday Kolt posters printed, and inflated “20” balloons. We don’t do the birthday thing with every player but we have a couple of cheer squad gals who’re massive Kolt fans and this is their doing 🤗 If he doesn’t play on Saturday we’ll keep the posters for next year and get an inflatable “1” to replace the “0” — Ghosty… bringing you the MFC news that matters 😜

CASEY: Rd 14 vs Gold Coast
I do but I shan’t elaborate, there’s a reason they’re called unmentionables 🤭

I certainly will, Ditcha. I’ll enjoy both games, and the lucky socks are on the clothesline as we speak 😅

A few of them have told me they get one day off per week, eg. Clarrie, Shane, Luker.

CASEY: Rd 14 vs Gold Coast
I’ll be at this match cheering the Casey boys on. Straight from the airport to the ground, but will miss the first quarter since it’s such an early start time. The best part of this is that I get to see two wins for the price of one! 😉

Calm down ffs! They’re not hugging at all. Keith the physio is banging shoulders with Charles to test his scapula. You’re gonna give yourself a hernia if you keep this up.

Nah defs not you, big spook. Unless you sometimes morph into a pompous know-it-all who has no tact. I’d never seen him there before and I haven’t seen him there since.

Salo and Fritta oftentimes spend their downtime together and they’ll go for a run along the beach for example.

I don’t think either Goody or Layzie said this

TRAINING: Sunday 22nd June 2025
In theory, sure. But at the risk of going around in circles, it’s the goal kicking during matches that’s the problem.

TRAINING: Sunday 22nd June 2025
How do we know that they’re not practicing as much as they should be? We see a brief captain’s run and a brief flush run each week. There’s a main training session two days before gameday at Casey (or Gosch’s if the upcoming match is interstate). We know they train in other ways: pool, gym, indoor skills training, etc. They only get one day off per week. How do we know they’re not practicing goal kicking somewhere? And if they are, clearly it’s not for all to see. Reminds me of the flush run immediately following our loss to the Saints, (7.21.63, in case anyone has forgotten). This old guy approaches me and starts pontificating about how to fix our atrocious goal kicking. Tbh I tuned out five minutes into it but snapped back to attention when I heard him say “I addressed this with three of our coaches as they came out of AAMI.” I asked how his advice was received. He said, “Well, Mark Richardson (not a coach and not named Mark but whatevs) was polite but in a hurry, Mark Williams (at least he got this right) listened to me but didn’t say anything, and the other one was downright rude (guessing this was Chunk :D). I’m quite sure fans like this guy are a big part of the reason goal kicking practice is “behind closed doors.” If you’re reading this and recognise yourself as the person about whom I’m talking, apologies, but I’m just telling it like it is.
