  1. Isn't replacing the President and board where you start if we are to seek change? They set the direction of the club, they're the ones who can call for a review and set the parameters of such a process. They're the ones to intervene if something goes wrong that can't be adequately resolved at the lower levels. On the Petracca issue the Coach, CEO, President and Footy boss are all marching to the beat of the same drum which implies a level of complacency across all the leadership positions that has lead us to this point.
  2. Which one was that?
  3. "I can't speak to this. I'm not across that. Media media media."
  4. Would be happy to take Josh Mahoney back.
  5. Not sure he wants the job but it amazes me we seem to have such trouble finding normal competent people to run the club. Every group have their own weird self-serving agendas.
  6. This is [censored]. Essendon didn't have an exodus this bad after they got their players banned for PED's we're having one three years after a flag. FML this club.
  7. Peter Jackson being put in charge was essentially an independent review with the teeth to make the changes required.
  8. PJ came into such a ****show he sacked half the club and they all said "yeah that's probably fair enough."
  9. I think blame can probably be shared on both sides in that regard.
  10. Considering how his career panned out, Scully got a bigger pay day than he could have ever dreamed of. Seems like his dad did an excellent job. Regardless, I'm not sure what a 'conflict of interest' at a managerial level amounts to. We're not talking about the courts here. Managers are there to represent their clients to potential employers and get them the best deal possible. Any conflict of interest that arises is an issue for the player alone to deal with.
  11. What's your point?
  12. A heap of players get managed by their parents.
  13. I said it last week but that SEN interview before the gold coast game Pert gave was awful. Nothing he said sounded sincere or substantive. Just a bunch of excuses, spin and complaints about all the things we've had to deal with that can't be controlled by a CEO. Mate, if you can't take control maybe let someone do the job who can.
  14. Where are you hearing this?
  15. If the bridge can't be mended with Petracca, then we seriously need to put in a new regime. Ridiculous the current group has allowed it to get to this point. 3 years after a flag and we'll have lost Brayshaw, Petracca and massive question marks over whether Oliver can ever get back to his best. May, Gawn and Viney all on the wrong side of 30. This does not a flag contender make. Best thing for the club will be to try and hoard draft picks and reset the list with young talent. Avoid a long rebuild and sort out all the off-field stuff.
  16. In fairness the club has been trying to convince all of us that new facilities are just around the corner for years.
  17. This seems completely contrary to what has been reported.
  18. How has there been no update yet? According to the pdf the council put up the report was supposed to be produced in June.
  19. Not sure 6-6-6 had that great an impact. Centre clearances are only a part of it. We put extra numbers around the ball and cheated forward a lot. Would love to see us go back to that style. Our backline isn't nearly as shaky as it was back then so we probably pull it off even better these days.
  20. Gaz was cracking jokes with McRae about it on Saturday.
  21. One thing I hope we can get on top on this off-season is the constant leaks out of the club. The media report what they hear and they seem to hear a lot from us. By yesterday evening we had the ins and outs of a player only meeting and a little swipe from the club at the people around Petracca outside the club. Go back to last year and you have all the stuff that got leaked about Oliver's issues. I know leaks happen but we do seem to have more than other clubs. It just creates fodder for the media and I can't imagine it's good for trust within the club if something you say in confidence gets a run in the papers a couple of days later.
  22. Never passed the pub test.
  23. Lol. Lyon had a meltdown about Mac Andrew the other day on radio too. Love it when he and Schwarz go full nuffie.
  24. People are attributing malice on Petracca's part over the initial story but no one actually knows who the source is, but even if it was someone from his camp he may not have wanted that info to get out anyway. Then if there are unresolved issues between Trac and the club it doesn't really make sense for him to come out and address it as he wouldn't be able to shut it down anyway. It would just add fuel to the fire.
  25. Got the sense from his post-game was that he has been told by his manager to straight bat questions about his contract. So not overly concerned with his answer. I expect North are offering him something like 3-4 years as a carrot. If its 4 years on money we can't match you almost have to let him go and thank him for everything. If he goes we can probably upgrade our first and get another second back, so not the end of the world. Reckon he probably signs a two year extension with us though.
