  1. You could see the complacency setting in during that period and it had fully taken hold by the second half of the year. Once it was clear we weren't as dominant as we thought we were the cracks really started to appear.
  2. We were happy to give Essendon all our picks from 20 onwards and our first rounder this year to get a second bite at the first round in last years draft because we rated that draft so highly. If we are considering trading Trac I would hope that it's because we have very specific targets in mind with the sort of picks we would get back. If not I'd be shutting this down yesterday.
  3. Think Jordan Lewis has spoken a bit about how when he was at the Hawks, by the time they came back to pre-season after winning a flag they had pretty much stopped celebrating completely and the mood was totally back to business. Due to COVID the club was still celebrating into December with the Members (rightly so) but I think when you're a smaller club that hasn't had much success it's hard to move on from such an historic, generational moment. Clubs like Collingwood, Hawthorn, Geelong etc haven't got that baggage so it's a lot easier for them to move on from the flag and get back on their bikes.
  4. Fair to say that we did see some genuine development of some young players at Casey this year. Culley, Adams, Kentfield all seemed to improve over the course of the season.
  5. I would prefer to get Sam Flanders and nothing else for Trac than take Adelaide's two firsts. That's how bad they look right now.
  6. Not all drafts are equal. Not all first rounders are equal.
  7. And people want to trade trac for a pick in the teens lol
  8. Seems like more than anything moving on Chocco was a money saving exercise.
  9. The current reports is that he's happy to stay if a trade can't be worked out. New coach and change throughout the club. Not impossible to sell it to him. He was happy to sign the long term contract and he's a professional. That several clubs are now coming for him the moment this got raised again shows that there's a pretty decent market for him.
  10. The decision is to move him on 'for the right price'. We're not going to do it just to help out Adelaide.
  11. I would. 14 would end up being pick 20ish in a shallow draft. A future first would also not be crash hot if you think Adelaide are going to finish in a similar position next year. In recent years our picks in the teens have gotten us Tholstrup, Jefferson and Laurie.
  12. Plenty of foodies on the Gold Coast.
  13. If his skills were a bit better he'd be a genuine gun.
  14. Get the vibe he's a bit of an introvert.
  15. Was Langford even there?
  16. Oliver is the exact kind of player the Umpires love to give votes to.
  17. The reports have been that both parties are open to a trade but that Trac isn't demanding a move in the same way as last year. i.e. would be comfortable to stay if nothing gets done. Seems like both parties are approaching this pretty maturely.
  18. I don't get this. He could easily play five more years and be the difference between winning a flag or not. Picks are lottery tickets for players that take years to develop even if you find a good one. A team like Adelaide should be in total win now mode. We should also not be trading Trac unless we get overs since the club has made it very clear we expect to be playing finals next year.
  19. The etiquette for a while has been to not annouce the coach until the team they are working with finishes their campaign. We just called up Geelong and worked it out maturely in advance instead. Really not an issue whatsoever.
  20. The panel we selected showed we were more interested in finding someone who was a strong managerial presence who could take ownership of the whole football program rather than just being a good tactician or whatever.
  21. Also helps that there is bugger all to do in Geelong.
  22. Wasn't it Daniher who campaigned for it? Remember him speaking very strongly about Ruckmen smashing their knees together.
  23. Adelaide won't be moving anyone decent on to get Trac in, but we won't accept their picks alone. Most likely we'll see some convoluted multi-club trade get it done.
  24. In my experience they are some of the most relaxed and confident footy fans I've met. They rival Hawthorn supporters in that department. Losing a prelim doesn't hurt so bad when you can be 90% sure you'll be thereabouts the following year. Collingwood supporters would be closer to the description you provided because of how many Grand Finals they've lost over the decades.
