  1. Laurie too good at this level. Just needs to make the transition with confidence. Best game for Adams in some time. White is a star. At 28 he deserves a rookie spot. Fullarton is not a ruckman. Jefferson getting into good spots. AMW has potential but too many cheap possessions. Verell developing well. Our policy of umpteen emergencies is absurd unless they know spmething we don't. Halting the development of our young blokes. Kolt just doing enough.
  2. Their on ball brigade is formidable. Darcy, Jackson, Fyfe, Serong, Brayshaw and, to a lesser extent O'Meara, is formidable. Also concerning that Amiss and Walters are due up forward. Need Petracca to continue his good form and Clarry and Viney to get back to somewhere near their best . Salem needs a repeat of last week with Kossie,ANB, Sparrow and others to chip in. I think Petty should to go to Pearce and playing a negating role. If he kicks a couple it would be a bonus. Hoping Tomlinson can stay on top of his game. For me, Turner might have to do some work in the ruck. Don't fancy Petty in there for too long. Might be sounding a bit negative with all of this. Actually think we're a better team. Just hoping for a good start again and no in game injuries. 🤞
  3. Sunday becomes a massive game for us now. Stay injury free and we can take care of the Pies next week. After the bye it's North, Lions, Eagles & Bombers. Three of those at the MCG. Definitely not getting ahead of myself but this one could set us up. Stop them at the source and we're a real chance. I hope we're not carried away with last weeks win. Saints awful. Having said that,it was a huge win and encouraging signs. Imagine if we can get a bigger output from Petty, Mcadam and, to a lesser extent, Fritsch. Even Clarry and Viney have a cog or two they can add. Good at their best Freo but still putting some store on the fact we have played in Alice Springs 11 times and this is their first.
  4. I'll be shot down for this but if the rumours are true I'm slightly warming to Lobb. Maybe a questionable character but thought he battled on really well tonight Numbers not great but he made the Pies accountable. Doesn't help that he is a monster forward line. In the light of nobody else, if the Dogs are willing to pay a chunk of his contract and we offer up a late pick I think he might just be able to work for us. Would be handy this weekend!
  5. Totally outraged! Why on earth would we have agreed to an ad with Heeney taking a screamer over Petracca? Maybe a bit tongue in cheek but don't like it. Demeans our champion. Hoping there is a reverse sequel I may have missed.
  6. Concerned about this one. Dual ruck combo going to be a real challenge for Max particularly with no JVR. Think we need to put the clamps on Serong. Brayshaw damaging also but we not best advised to tag both. Our midfield has been struggling.
  7. Turner is 2cm taller than Van Rooyen. He will have a crack in the ruck.
  8. Surely Turner comes in for JVR and does some relief ruck work. Petty not worth the risk. Definitely not Brown.
  9. Petty ahead of Brown and Jefferson? Every day of the week.
  10. With due respect, really? Surely Brown is cooked. 'Break glass in case of emergency' at best. If he's not kicking goals we are playing one short. He can only play one position. Don't get me wrong. He's been a great player but no longer. As for Jefferson I'll be flabbergasted if he's selected based pretty much on one decent performance. It was a few short weeks ago that almost all and sundry were calling him a bust a la Lucas Cook. He is not ready. Whilst not ideal Turner at least provides versatility, gets to the contest and is mobile. 3 goals a few games ago was impressive. Down the track I'm in the Tomlinson camp to try forward. Having said all of this I reckon Petty will come up. 8 day break until the Pies then the bye. Love to see him recapture the Geelong form. Still think he's underdone.
  11. Still grasping onto the fact that Freo have never played in Alice Springs. Has to be a factor . MCG has no fear for them. Guess players like Jackson and O'Meara have been there but as a collective this has to be a disadvantage. Alternatively, we are very comfortable there and conditions will be good unlike the narrow debacle last year. Apart from our first three losses Traegear Park, when we were basically a basket, case our record is sound. Whilst it was only StKilda there were some signs that we might be turning the corner. Huge fortnight for the Demons. After the bye the next 5 matches are eminently winnable. How good would it be to get eight straight.! 🤞
  12. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Windsor is the only player in the top 20 draft picks to have played every game this year. Definitely time for the young fella to get a rest. I thought his game against the Saints showed that. Langdon and Hunter can take care of the wings. Maybe take Caleb to Alice for the experience but Definitely don't play at Casey. Bring him back ready and raring to go for the King's Birthday clash then, along with the rest of the team, he greats another break before the North game.
  13. Surely Fullarton plays if Petty injured. If not, why did we recruit him? Did he not drop out of the selected squad through illness? If so, must be close. With Freo having two genuine ruckman he can assist Max, particularly with the calf, and spend time forward.Means that JVR can 'stay at home' up front longer. More of a genuine ruck. Open to other suggestions. For me it's way to early for Jefferson based on one good performance.
  14. 4. I thought it was more than that.
  15. Has Mitch White nominated for the mid season draft? If he hasn't he should! Given we sit fourth we are some chance . Our midfield depth is lacking. OK, not the quickest but he is an accumulator with another 38 disposal game. He is tough and generally a good user. He has played at the level and was more than serviceable in awful teams and he was plagued by injuries. Yes, it's a short term fix but with any injuries or need to rest players he would be my choice. At 28 he still has time left. Leads by example at Casey.
  16. It's my understanding that Freo have never played at Alice Springs, only Darwin. Happy to be corrected. This gives us a real 'home ground' advantage. Unlike last year the weather looks fine.
  17. Agree with this. I hope we are bold enough to try this. I'm prepared to say it could be a game changer. Tomlinson has great endurance, reasonable pace, will get to a contest and can take a grab. I think his goalkicking is OK. I fear if he has a bad one in the next two weeks he will be banished back to Casey. For me, that would be an error
  18. I've been saying this for awhile. His GWS forward experiment was 5 years ago. Do we have anything to lose? If he keeps playing this well he is to good to leave out when Lever comes back. Turner will need time at Casey. Tomlinson could also possibly give a chop out in the ruck. He is desperate to keep his place. Would throw everything at being a forward. Would also make us more flexible. I love Petty but he is sore and sadly out of form.
  19. Petty not fit. Neither McAdam. Windsor needs a rest. Is Turner ready? AMW must be close. Tholstrup well and truly in the frame.
  20. Does this bloke ever give credit to the opposition? Recognise the fact that they lost Coniglio early? Seriously.
  21. Is there illness sweeping through the camp or is that just a malicious rumour?
  22. He will have Max and May around for a couple of years but at 200cm is unlikely to be developed. So you're 100% White will join us next year? You know this how? Again, not the point. This should be a non issue.
  23. Playing at the G tick, decent crowds tick. The rest? Relationships already formed at the Suns. They will very soon be in the mix to be a very good team. By the time Kalani reaches anywhere near his potential Max May, Viney and others will be gone. Anyway, this is not the point. There should be no choice. Either scrap F/S or make it sacrosanct.
