  1. Yep, Collingwood right where they belong! Love it!
  2. There's always been two things that have brought joy to me regarding footy. One is Melbourne winning. The other is Collingwood losing. The 70 point thumping tonight of the Pies was sheer bliss! Now, let's move on to next week, and a nice win for the Dees...!! (Then, we can start anticipating the greatest joy of all -- Melbourne winning and Collingwood losing in the SAME match...!!)
  3. Just heard the sad news that another former Melbourne player passed away on Wednesday after a battle with cancer. Robert Foster played 22 games for the Dees from 1964 to 1967. His dad, Jack Foster, also played around 30 games for Melbourne in the 1930s. Sadly, Robert lost his wife, also to cancer, just 18 months ago.
  4. Really can't add any more to what's already been said. A very sad day for the Bailey family and all who knew him or knew of him. Tragic that he's been taken so young. Can't help wondering if the trauma and stress his life was put under over the past couple of years didn't at least contribute to his swift and untimely demise. RIP, Dean!
  5. Stick it in a pram, and dress it as a baby. (Works for pigs at the cricket...! LOL)
  6. I think the AFL would beg to differ with you, Daisycutter...
  7. I'm kinda surprised no-one has commented on Melbourne's "away" outfit worn last Friday night. I was fully expecting to see them run out in the white jumper. Have to admit a certain amount of shock to see them run out in the old, traditional, away outfit of red & blue jumper, with white SHORTS! Not sure how the Club got away with that one. But, it was GREAT! What are the chances of this madness continuing...??
  8. Yes, Jack is a beauty! Just hope his body continues to hold up so that he can strut his stuff. He's had a horror run with injury. Would be so nice if that could all be behind him.
  9. Had to laugh at that little story about his trip to the ground. He left Dawesy with his Ute, which is a manual. He said Dawesy can't drive manuals, so he was a little concerned about what had become of his prized vehicle! Also reckoned he was kinda stuffed by the time he finally got to the ground around 40 minutes late. Very impressed with our Bernie. Seems like a really likeable kid. And, he certainly performed on the centre stage in his first hit-out for the Club. A great get!
  10. See the AFL is looking at trialling player names on the back of the guernseys during one Round this year. Seems to be a divisive topic. Not really sure why. Personally, I like the idea. While we may be able to identify our own players, it's not always so easy to know who the opposition blokes are. They do it in the shorter forms of cricket, and seems to work well. What do Demonlanders think?
  11. Does this count for Dawes, Clark & Hogan all "training together"...??
  12. Sorry to burst your balloon. But the Heat are gonna take them down big time tomorrow night at the Gabba. Go Heat!!
  13. Well done to them both. They both performed extremely well in their first year. I have no doubt they will further improve under the new coaching regime. I'm very happy for them both.
  14. Nice! Thanks! Can't believe how many of them that I didn't recognise! Would be nice if they had their numbers on the front & back of their training shirts!
  15. Agreed! There's massive upside to that group! I can see them very quickly developing into a formidable midfield. If they do, and our tall forwards can all stay on the park, expect a fast rise up the ladder! (Well! I can dream...!)
  16. Nice article. Must be a real thrill to not only be drafted, but to be drafted by the Club you love! Doesn't happen to too many kids these days. So, well done to the kid. Really hope he goes well in coming years.
  17. Very sad to hear! This bloke has really been through it the past few years. He doesn't deserve this on top! Sure hope he makes a speedy and full recovery!
  18. I agree. Wouldn't be the first time a guy was de-listed, rookied and then gone on to finally make something of his career. I'm very please for him, and also really hope he can prosper under Roos & Co. Clearly they can see something in him. Otherwise, wouldn't have given him this life line.
  19. That's a great compromise! I'd be very happy with that. (Clearly, the AFL would not allow it!!)
  20. That skinny runt? Nah! He'll never make it!
  21. I've been having similar thoughts, and agree with most names on the list. I'd also add Bail, Jetta & Evans. Even Howe (who needs to become more than just a one trick pony). And, for that matter, Will Roosy be able to find something extra in Dunny? I just reckon that if most of the guys on our list can rise anywhere near the potential they were sold to us as having, then we are going to have one VERY good team...!
