Welcome Back to Demonland Marty Hore
Just bad luck and bad timing and possibly putting himself in harms way more often than not – nothing else. A good player and a good bloke. Wishing him a good recovery.

NON-MFC: Round 17
On the positive side, it was good to catch up with some quality Netball during Saturday afternoon.

Umpire contact - retrospective rules
If they don’t want to wear a bubble, or maybe a hula hoop skirt? Or dress up as Davros? I can see now that they will put a 2m x1m shaded area next to the Centre circle that will be verboten for players to enter.

Umpire contact - retrospective rules
Just saw another umpire shirtfront against Caddy. He will probably get a fine. Got me thinking and I think I’ve found a solution:

CASEY: Rd 15 vs Coburg
Anything could happen in this match. They’ve been pretty active recruiting – though not as active as Casey. They are missing Keogh in ruck but have replaced him with Furphy from Geelong, who has very little impact around the ground. Gentile usually has a big game against us. It would be nice if somebody could stop that – Baldi? Woey??

POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast
I would say that we really don’t know what we have in the spares box. Brisbane had one of the longest injury lists of all last year. Because they were forced to play first year players, they discovered that Logan Morris was ready to play. If they had a fit list, he probably wouldn’t have played as yet. I would throw the keys to anybody who has shown themselves able to win a one on one clearance. Chandler, Windsor, McVee, Bowery, Tholstrup, Laurie, Langford, Lindsay, Woey, Culley and Brown. Hell, I’d even throw Adams and Verrall through there, just to see what they had.

Can we talk about Kolt?
Surely there’s about 40 players that could currently be cut comfortably. That, and talk about test rings, no wonder people are getting carried away. Go hard, go early!

CASEY: Rd 14 vs Gold Coast
Yes, the Casey listed players have been doing a lot of the heavy lifting this year. Sometimes I get the feeling that the AFL players have been given conflicting roles which has led to some confused performances.

CASEY: Rd 14 vs Gold Coast
It seems weird, but I think he’s the same draft class as half of their team. Not that that’s stopping them, dammit.

NON-MFC: Round 16
Caught them by surprise, I think. To be fair, I don’t think they were expecting the bedding or the bowel movement at the beginning of this round.

NON-MFC: Round 16
True. But I can’t see him making a comeback.

CASEY: Rd 14 vs Gold Coast
I don’t think I’m alone here, when I say that I would like to see the Casey side not only used for development of players, but also for winning the VFL, and assisting with creating a winning culture. Part of the reason why they lost yesterday was the over-reliance of half the side, and leaving the other half to play 20–40 minutes. It looks like it could’ve been a good chance to play JVR and Verrall in the back line, while pushing Adams and Hore to the wings. Maybe Woey could have more time in the centre?

NON-MFC: Round 16
Turning out to be a pretty decent game over in Perth. Not high scoring, but looks like it’s going to go down to the wire. Also a reminder this week that no team in the league can kick.

NON-MFC: Round 16
Not sure whether it’s just because I’m old, but almost all of the “free after disposal”, downfield free kicks, have been rubbish for the whole year. A part of the game is to put pressure on the ball carrier until they dispose of the ball. At this stage, players cannot afford to touch anyone disposing of the ball for fear they might fall over and give an easy free kick 50m down the field. Players are just falling over at the drop of a hat after disposing of the ball. I don’t think it’s poor balance. It’s just milking these ridiculous rules.

CASEY: Rd 14 vs Gold Coast
I’ve often thought that people who have not played that position to a reasonable standard, should not comment about it. It seems that you don’t know anything about Ruckmen, but you do know about being clueless. If you were watching the past couple of years, you would’ve seen that Verrall usually at least breaks even, and often gets the ground ball clearance out to the running players. TC does a lot of good bullocking work at stoppage, but drops off too soon and gave up quite a few clearances, as well as not being accountable for Moyle the forward line.
-
CASEY: Rd 14 vs Gold Coast
Interestingly TC was injured early in the last game against these guys. So Verrall was used in that game for 80+% – had 26 possessions and quite a few clearances and tackles – and probably broke even with Moyle, who was credited with a lot of hitouts – but very few to advantage, and 2 goals – kicked on AJ. I thought Campbell lost his feet today a lot and was not able to provide any pressure around the contest which led to easy clearances for Gold Coast. Serious doubts about Whitford’s coaching ability. In the last game, Verrall has one of his best games – this game he was lucky to get on the park. JVR, JB, Laurie and a heap of others also don’t know whereabouts they are supposed to be. Something is badly wrong here.

CASEY: Rd 14 vs Gold Coast
Hopefully, we can cover for Cross this week.

NON-MFC: Round 16
If the players association had any balls, they would at least stir the pot and try to get the matches moved due to the unsafe surface.

NON-MFC: Round 16
Yeah. Sorry Dub. It might just be you.😀 From a show of hands, most people I know just want to beat the little [censored] with a stick. Probably like most “agitators” in other teams, to be fair. They are great when they are playing in your team, otherwise not so much.

NON-MFC: Round 16
Their 50s look open because nobody can keep their feet – half of the players are lying on the ground. BTW. What’s happened to the SCG this week? Mario Lanza concert? Pavarotti? Caruso? Certainly looks like they have dug up half the ground. Couldn’t be from that one 12 weeks ago? Were they radioactive?

TRAINING: Thursday 26th June 2025
Maybe he’s just sick of being called Curly, given directions to nearby mountains, or told to harden the [censored] up? Maybe Brian’s making a comeback?

PREGAME: Rd 1 6 vs Gold Coast
Sounds like you’re a protagonist of the 59th Street Bridge song, Dub?
