  1. I know Hogan was a bit sore after last week. I fully expect him to miss, not rested, but miss with a slight niggle.
  2. I think Howe is a natural footballer with a huge upside. In my opinion we must look at keeping him and only lose him if we are able to get a good pick from GWS (and or someone else) and on trade that pick for another player.. lets say we get pick 10 for Howe, we trade pick 10 to Geelong for Stephen Motlop or Gold Coast for Dion Prestia or bundle it up in an audacious bid to lure a Hannebery. Otherwise, he stays.
  3. I think White should also he considered.. If Vandenberg has shown us anything, it's that guys who have a go and also have some skill set then they will be more than useful in this side.
  4. Viv if it's wet, he is very effective when the fame is one paced, otherwise it has to be some run, Bail or Jones or Harmes. I might be the only one on here who does not think Matt Jones is no good. He has his shortcomings but I genuinely believe he has outside run, gets to the right places, is solid overhead and will offer more than others.
  5. Not having Salem available for probably another 6 weeks is shocking news. Kid is hard, has class and poise and uses it well, everything we need of half back.
  6. I understand the resting Brayshaw philosophy.. But there is a bye around the corner and the evidence is pretty clear, the kid is getting better and running out games better than early in year. He is the exact type that gets more out of playing.
  7. Pedo must stay in. Had a quiet game.. By Sawes standard, it was a good game. He can mark, and goes to the right spots, is a lovely kick. Move the ball well at Etihad and he will benefit. People asking for Matt Jones to be dropped is fair bit he has pace, line breaking run and has a go. St Kilda mids are fast by foot but also by hand, they move it quickly. We play our best we win, would like to see Tyson and ANB in for VBerg and Viney (inj)
  8. Just waiting on Brayshaw Rising star, should have confirmation shortly.
  9. Rising Star coming our way as well tonight.
  10. TIME IN FRONT Comparison FREO 85% COLLINGWOOD 56% >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Essendon 46% Melbourne 43% Nth Melb 41% St Kilda 39% Lions 21% Suns 21% Carlton 20%
  11. Contact at Champion Data.
  12. very very very confident that Rising Star will be a Demon today. Very.
  13. Stats that might help, its not all bad. TIME IN FRONT: 2012 23% 2013 14% 2014 20% 2015 43% Also, I believe we might have our first Rising Star Nom later today.
  14. Like everyone, I was really disappointed with most of Today. Port are a good side, they have been poor recently and were horrible early, but like a good side they got a sniff, got confidence and started running forward of the ball as they knew they could win the CF. I look at it like this. For years, we have just been plain horrible. We are starting to play good footy, but the horrible remains. I think we are improving, and I remain confident of 6 wins, which is what I expected. I'm shattered about today, but I think we will have better days ahead.
  15. Jake suffered a bit of a set back with a hip injury that has hampered his season, while it has not been an impressive season to date, I am told the Club is aware and will monitor his progress. Expect him to drift right out of contention with so called experts, but my understanding is that he will be in contention for drafting come end of year.
  16. Can confirm that Jesse is NOT the R8 Rising Star.
  17. I hope we welcome back Col at some stage, demon through and through, and I love seeing ex players come back to the club for functions.
  18. I heard some worrying info this morning about the amount of infighting on the ground last week, some of the blame and words exchanged was bad enough to shock some of the Hawthorn players. the person who told me stopped short of naming players. I hope this is an exception rather than the rule, as we were getting demoralised. I hear that things are ok down at the club and everyone is happy, so I tend to believe this was just frustration, but I did see Jones have a good crack at Howe on Saturday at half time, which I must admit I loved. On another note, it staggers me beyond belief that we cannot score, other teams that are bad score, St Kilda, Lions, they score.. its getting beyond ridiculous that we have scored 6 times in the 50s its embarrassing, I cant handle it anymore, we did it in R1, but that's the exception, im not saying we should be scoring 100 points plus every week, but it has to be 75+ as the norm, Roos was so strong on % when he took over, well Roosy, im afraid you are going to end your tenure with a % that resembles when you took over unless something changes. Is anyone else getting so frustrated that its starting to get them a bit down? sorry.. that just spewed out of me.
  19. Hogan playing Dawes role, and Pederson playing Hogan role, Garlett in between them. It's not a bad set up. Defensive Fwd will be needed on Murphy, a smart player that we can go through on Turnover, Bernie Vince may be that man.
  20. Ridiculous. For starters, Hunt hasn't played a game, so that's just silly. And I'm not mentioning the others because it's not about them, it's about Toumpas. Don't try and be to clever and read into something that is simply not there.
  21. I never mentioned the number he went at the draft, so not sure what your point is, but I agree it is hard to not factor that in when talking about expectation though. Top 5, Top 10 or top 50.. The realisation should be starting to set in that Toumpas will end up being regarded as a waste choice.
  22. Yeah I see your point, but that's also my point in my argument, I don't believe he will improve enough to make it impossible for the club not to entertain trading him. I would love to be proved wrong, would love him to gave 10 games where he shows something.. But honestly, ask yourself, do you think he will do that?
  23. Scapegoat is the term on this site and with Melbourne supporters that does my head in the most. Toumpas is not a scapegoat, Toumpas is a young player that has so far disappointed most.Time to face facts, and mark my words, if we don't cut our losses at the end of the year, then we will regret it.
  24. I like to think I'm pretty considered, and when you wear a demon jumper then I will back you and back you until I can't back you anymore. Toump seems like a great Kid, and he is 20 games into a career that has so far delivered nothing. Not one game where I have thought, there is something to work with. He is not a bad player, but the trouble is he shows no signs of being a good player. It's a bust, I know it's early, but cut our losses, let's get him involved in a trade scenario with a SA club that might become an important pawn in a Sloane type of deal. The irony of this us that we have a player who is on our list who's start to this year has been as disgraceful as I can remember. Jeremy Howe should be dropped and not come back. At least Frawley ayes well last year. If he had Toumps attitude and personality then he would be a valuable player, right now he makes me furious every time I watch. This club has shown improvement this year, horrible 3 week stretch against the top 3 clubs, shocking yesterday, but I have always thought this yeat is the first year of our rebuild, not last year, our best 16 is good, our bottom 6 is still weak, and our depth is shallow. But this year we have got a core group that is talented and represents the future, next year we add to that which pushes some dead weight out and then our depth runs a bit deeper, by the time Goodwin takes over we will have depth, to match our talent. No one likes it, but this is part of the plan.
