Mid Season draft now really shapes as an important pick for us, we can add something really important straight up. We will have a pick in the top 4, apologies i couldn't find a mid season draft page. I feel we should take a punt on a classic footballer, no project players, get a seasoned player in and give them a chance.

Also i must say although Jeffy did a couple curious things i though he was so clean and got to the right places more often than not.. it was encouraging. I think with Jeff you need to take the bad wit the good, his first shot at goal clearly should have been a handball to Tom and after that it looked like he lost confidence to have a shot but he was so clean, and there was a free kick against Tom Mc i think where Jeffy roved it beautifully off the pack as well as the match winning tackle. 2 direct goal assists and 4 score assists.

Thought Fritsch was really important. must play forward of the ball. Calls to drop him are not warranted at all IMO.

I hope they stay with Lockhart and a bit more of a fleet brigade.. Keilty for me needs to have a breakout game in the 2s.. we need and will have a look at him but he has to come in with form. Look at Port Adelaide.. they are putting faith in kids and getting great service from their experienced leaders and players, we are the exact opposite. out: Viney in: Sparrow.

I will always support and hope for the best and still go to games and defend them and get angry when someone bags my club. But right now, im just off the entire club and i know winning will get me back on side but its not even just the losing, its the continual unprofessionalism that is really getting to me. Name 1 thing we have done right this year and i will give you 10 things we have stuft up. Until they start backing up their big mouths i will live in this state of apathy towards the club.

i think its all timing and a a good forward coach could teach him this. With all due respect to our fwd line coach im not sure they were a key position player ironically maybe not even a forward.

Jeff has to play, he can run through the middle as well now and again. Sparrow for Viney - give the kid a month. Keilty - maybe - need a look at him but this is the thing at the moment as we devoid of hope and spark, a bloke who kicks 2 in a reserves game looms as a great white hope. Idelaly you put a Keilty in when we are going well, not when we are struggling. Cant drop Weid IMO.. show him some support and he might come through.

Im a big fan and he was the player that i first really loved. He was a bloody great natural footballer. watching those clips i realized he would be the exact player we need right now. He was so good on the ground and on his non proffered foot the left. In actual fact he is a 5 time All Australia the first 2 were not called All Australian sides.. but is registered as a 5 time All Aus, one as a CHB and the rest as a forward so that indicates what versatile player he was. He also won the equivalent of the NAB rising star in 1986. He cops a lot on here and from Demon supporters, and im not saying its right or wrong but when you talk about him on the field, i hope he gets the respect he deserves and i would hope one day he enters the AFL hall of Fame because some of the players in there are certainly not in his class.

Again.. its all talk.. its all been talk the last couple years.. Max is great, but he talks a lot.. he tells us the prelim final loss is going to burn in the players.. we come out lose r1..we are 1-5 now he says judge us on how they respond. Why in the hell should we believe and trust words. its rather pathetic.

That's what great teams would do.. but we don't have a leader among any of them.. we are from from a great team. Jones - Cant get a kick, refuses to sacrifice himself for better of the team - cant have a captain on the brink of being axed.. Viney - tries to lead by example - but examples have been few and far between Max - talks a lot.. i mean a lot.. Charismatic and has personality, but thinks talking is leading. Nev - Quietly spoken respected player - who in all seriousness could be just about done. Where is the next crop? People laughed when they said Jake Lever is the best leader we have.. its true., sad but true.

agree with the first 5.. but to suggest you trade Viney is borderline ridiculous. he has had a pretty shocking 2 years with injury. Lets explore options, but lets not get carried away.

4 days off, plus the first 6 weeks they have had off.. good life. In all seriousness though, a break might be good, its been constant, short breaks, pressure, intense scrutiny. have a break, get refreshed, come back and lets start to grind away at the season. If i was goody, it would all be about going out and enjoying the footy now. the season is done, so pressure off, now enjoy it.. get some unexpected wins, win back some respect and build, lots of teams have these types of seasons, and i hate it, but it does happen and what else can you do about it.. Im also looking forward to the break.. 10 days until the next game. Demon free zone for a while.

We have to take a punt on Nathan Freeman in teh Mid Season draft... its the exact time to do it.. the season is done, lets give him crack, talent cant be denied, he is now getting time on teh park and playing really well.

All fair points DV8. As i said, its an oponion game, i respect those who disagree, iI' in the camp that we ignored our most pressing needs and didn't react to a major loss. I hope the players we drafted really do make it, time will tell. Go Dees.

Its not an easy out because Ill tell you exactley .. and it goes back to the original post, if a proper review was done of the West Coast prelim loss then they would have identified they need to get some serious leg speed into the team.. rather than be seduced by what they think they need.. another big defender.. ridiculous. Take pick 6 and get Zac Buttress , dont use pick 27 on another inside mid like Tom Sparrow, go for Ian hill, quick outside player with great skills, Nick Hind was the quickest player in the VFL.. but we take a bloke called Aaron NIetshcke no one has ever heard of.. i could go on.. Matthew Parker is electric.. the Saints nabbed him at 47. SO there are heaps of examples.. but im a bit over the to and fro Wiseblood, i respect your decision to disagree. Hope the Dees can turn it around.

I think we should ask our skillful players to provide the skill and our grunt players to provide the grunt and our running players to provide the run.. then we might look like we are playing as a team.

Reckon the draft and trade period would have been a good place to start..

Could ANB tag Martin? Has the tank, give him a job to focus on, run with him all night? I like the changes to be honest, i mean it would be better having AVB and Hannan come back in to the side, with May and Lever, but thats not happeing.. so get some pace, get some Rn and get some aggression, as i stated earlier somewhere, Tim Smith should be told to hurt blokes.. make them earn everything, take Grimes out of the contest..

yeah i agree with what you say DJ, but by expendable i mean a talent that might recoup a high pick..

Never been more important for our midfield and fwds to keep the pressure on.. hamper the supply to them and then they dont kick 8 each. this will be the game to show if we are willing to work for each other and who sacrifices their game for the betterment of the team.. will be very very interesting.

Yeah i agree, I love Trac and he seems like a great kid, but he also seems like the only expendable talent we have on the list.

The point is.. Not enough was done and i dont think anyone can argue we ignored the changes and the adaptation required to improve. Its from the coach down.
