  1. wowee.. what could have been this year had he played like that. I think his 2019 season hurt his 2020 season a lot.. looks so much fitter in 2018.. thinner, agile, attacking. Such a shame.. if we could have 2018 Tom in 2021 it would be great, however i think we are more likely to get 2020 Tom.
  2. Apologies if there is a thread on this already, i could not find it, Mods please merg if there is. I think it will be a really interesting count tonight.. My top 6: and when you look at that 6.. its hard to believe we are not playing finals. 1. Petracca 2. May 3. Oliver 4. Langdon 5. Gawn 6. Viney You can watch LIVE here:
  3. This is very welcoming news... and it is on Goodwin and the club to be "Ruthless" their words.. fresh faces and new eyes. I hope that Goodwin has an off season like Buckley did a few years ago, where he realised that he must throw responsibility to other people as the coach.. it mede Bucks a ten time better coach because he could concentrate on managing his players. Would love Yze back at the club and Daniel Giansiracusa.. he is the one for me.. sees teh game very well.
  4. I feel really sorry for Harley, imagine how he must be feeling right now, there will be a massive sense of guilt that he has let the club down, his wife and child down, he gets terminated, he potentially cost himself a year of a $100k salary, and who knows beyond that. Its just monumentally silly. I have sympathy for him, but we cant put up with that. He has to go and i know the club will help him, they do this stuff well but its over for him.
  5. Wagners x 2 Chandler Dunkley Nev* Jones* Bedford Oscar Kolo That's 9 changes straight up, that's a lot and enough to let us refresh the list. Also Pruess TRADE TO GWS Tom Mc to explore options That could be 11 changes. we dont want to many as much as we need a clean out. With Jones and Nev going and possibly Tom it allows some cap space.
  6. The McKay stuff is fanciful.. no way in the world is he leaving Carlton, especially with Curnow no certainty to get back to full fitness. Ben Brown is the one. Gettable, affordable and what we need.. a stay at home FF who takes the best defender. Did you watch Nth this year? they were awful, and he suffered as a result. Unless they are going to get uber aggressive and sell the farm for Jeremy Cameron then Ben Brown is the most likely.
  7. The thing is we desperately need another bigger body in our Fwd line.. and there is not a lot on offer.. so it could be a case, we get him cheap-ish and we welcome him back.. i cant see it happening myself.. but i guess anything is possible.
  8. Didnt he promise the club no drinking in one of the To Hell and Back Eps? Its just monumentally stupid. How many chances do you want?
  9. Weid is a good young player.. but he was never the answer to be entrusted as the main man. And thats what he has been ever since he came into the side. He is getting the best defender.. asked to be a goal square player when he should be a traditional CHF. Need s mate.. need s stay at home FF. Where we get that from.. i dont know.. but Weid will be better as the sidekick.
  10. more annoyed that they are not listening to the coach.
  11. James is an honest trier. Nothing more and that is not a criticism, its just what he is. I have said it before and so have others.. his best position / role is following a smart footballer around, they take him to the right spots, he is a good contested player and good overhead, he can work off an opponent. Staggers me we have not used him, and all of a sudden we are now trying Melksham.. why not use Harmes in that role when its appropriate.
  12. yep absolutely, it is passable, you do win some and lose some but ultimately its the losses that will cost us an assured finals spot.

  14. Lol.. relax a bit and let it go Hammy, you can have your opinion and ill have mine. Its fine, Melbourne Football Club have wasted this year and you are wasting my time. Go dees.
  15. Dont tell me what i thought, i was real about our expectations, that was to make finals, because that's what the club had set them selves up for, that was the messaging and our list suggested we should not only play finals, but have an impact. That we would bounce back from a year like 2018 where we failed, that was the year we failed, this year its been a waste, we have wasted opportunities, it cant be any clearer, 4 matches that we should have won, we wasted, therefore, we will likely miss finals, therefore, the club has wasted the opportunity to be better. Optimism would be people hoping we dont have a bad year. Anyway, i think we are not going to agree and thats cool, but i think we both agree either way a failed year or a wasted year, its disappointing not to be in a better position.
  16. Thats all well and good, but 2019 was a fail, we failed in every aspect of the club, poor preparation, poor performance, and if we dont make the finals, we have wasted a year. it can actually be both, a failed and a wasted year.
  17. we can agree to disagree, i think we have wasted so many opportunities to be a better club that ultimately its the reason for failure. Moving on though.. who knows, we might somehow make teh finals and win one.. it would be peak Demons.
  18. its semantics mate and im not trying to start an argument. I 100% agree with you about the prelim, I just think we wasted an opportunity after 2018.. we have now wasted an opportunity to get a lot better off the back of 2019, and as was raised last week, why are we not better? Failed / Wastyed.. at the end of the day the club has not progressed since 2018, its gone backwards. And that worries me.
  19. whats unintelligent about it.. the output of the club has been far less than what was expected, therefore its wasted. Its not pessimistic, its reality.. its ok to be real about things. We have wasted an opportunity to be a better football club and a football side. We have recruited to play finals and win finals and win premierships, we are not dong that this year. Its wasted.
  20. When you fail at something, you waste an opportunity.
  21. Anyway you look at it its been a waste, lost games we should have won, will very likely miss finals spot, wasted a year of Max Gawn dominance, Petracca having a career year and not capitalising losing members, member unrest more negative press than positive, Presidents getting involved, Coach on teh nose.. all could have been avoided had we not been the mentally week club that we are. How you can frame it any other way im not sure.
  22. Its such a waste of a year.. there are the obvious losses to Sydney and Freo, who are not a bad side, but losses to Geelong by 3 points and the Lions by 4 points were probably the games that have cost us a finals spot. The club needs to get really aggressive in the offseason, lose the dead weight, reinvigorate with some youth and a couple of good players. If they want to be a ruthless club, they go and make things happen.

He is tracking ok Weid, McKay has Casboult who requires a big body, i think Weid would benefit so well from someone like Mihocek.
  24. I felt really sorry for him, he looked sad all game, i genuinely hope he is ok. I think he has a go every time he plays, was one of our better players last year, 21 goals. I hope he gets another year, but i think he is gone. Although i could find 10 players i would rather delist before him.
  25. Absolutely think he is someone we should enquire about. I think he would be a great fit and 2 years would work. He is outside, line breaking, good skills, good tank, would compliment Langdon on the other wing.
