Patrick Cripps FREE to play
FearTheBeard replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
Easily solution, get Hunt to break his leg again like 2017. Also why the [censored] are lawyers involved when it is simply a question of: Did Cripps contest the ball or, Did Cripps leave the ground and knock a bloke out? Nobody at the MRO or Tribunal should keep their jobs, the whole thing needs a reset, regardless of the outcome of last night. -
considerably less reserved seats sold compared to last week. Looks quite similar to Round 1, probably a bit under that because of MCC sales. I think somewhere between 48-55, would be nice to hit 60 but I think that is unlikely.
-
A quick heads up to anyone reserving MCC seats. The sign on Ticketek saying that reserved seating in the MCC is sold out is a lie. It was meant for the Carlton Collingwood game but the idiots put it up on ours. Plenty availability still.

It just seems to, I don't know whether its because people like to go out on Saturday nights or because late night footy isn't for most people. I think if the Friday night game against the Pies was a day game it would have hit 80. Our Saturday night games this year have been really poor as well. I had this one penciled in for our largest home crowd of the season but that just seems unlikely. I am also fed up with the excuses our supporters come up with to not show up to games. Where are the 45K who were at Round 1 and where are the 60K who turned up to the elimination final in 2018?
-
In fairness to us that day, I reckon there were a maximum of 10K Carlton fans that day. Never seen the crowd look so red. Carlton were also shocking at that point of the season.
-
I predicted 67-72 for the Pies game so am very happy with my work aha. I think Saturday night also tends to be a terrible crowd drawing slot. If this were a dry Saturday 2pm we would get 70K. Based on ticket sales, I think this will be lucky to get above 55K and weather isn't looking great this weekend. I am looking forward to another weekend sitting on 2A in the AFL reserve surrounded by clueless people from the other team.

I think this weeks crowd is going to be very interesting. Carlton got 64K and against Geelong on a Saturday night but I can't help but feel we wont come close to that. I think low 50s is accurate and that will be disappointing considering I thought it would be larger than the Pies game a few weeks ago. Would be nice if more than 25K of us show up. More turned up to Anzac Eve (away game ffs) than last week...

GA now available top of Q54-55
-
Ye I have a check in twice a day because im obsessed and broken when it comes to crowds. I dont reckon they will come close to selling all. Can already tell that there are gonna be excess GA people and not enough seats.
-
GA areas Shane Warne Stand Q1-Q7 Q8-Q15 1/2 (rows P-DD) Ponsford Stand Q31-Q36 (rows AA-MM) Olympic Stand GA seating not available
-
They are selling up to row Z in both. GA will seemingly be row AA-MM but it would not surprise me if they put the whole Olympic stand up for reserved seating tomorrow. there are also only single seats left in the ponsford. for context Anzac eve got 70k with twice as many ga areas on level 4
-
Interesting to see that general admission is now sold out. This is at 11pm so they may choose to put more on sale. for those who plan on scanning in on the night don’t worry you still can this is just for non Melbourne or Collingwood members who don’t have scan in access. think 75k may be on the money, hoping people are willing to get a little wet to come and watch a great contest.
-
I think it would be good to remember that in Round 19 2018 Richmond and Collingwood got 88K to 1st v 3rd. First time that both teams had been in premiership contention for decades and it was a perfect day. For us to draw anywhere near that would be a miracle and we have a covid world to deal with.
-
He said the club was hoping for that. There is no chance it will get to 85. anything above 70 is a win.

I agree but considering how many people are working from home there aren’t that many people that will just pop across from the city. for me I’m leaving the office at 5 on the dot to start the pre game experience. Not sure I’ll be upright come 7:50….
-
It’ll be up on Thursday on their website but it’ll roughly be this and only level 4: Q49-Q55 rows T-MM Q8-Q15 Rows O-DD Q1-Q7 All rows Q31-Q36 rows AA-MM
-
Just going bases on where ticket sales are at. Level 4 up to row O in the Olympic stand and a few bays up to row K in the southern stand. for QB, Olympic stand was completely sold out and southern stand only had 6 bays of GA. On Friday, MCC on track to just about sell out all reserved seating and AFL reserve about 75% sold out 76K on QB so would take an enormous amount of GA supporters to get it to that number for this one.

Mate I will end up having gone to 19/22 games this year. Weather is an excuse I have never used and never will use. But most people do and it turns people away from all games. Collingwood Richmond got 64k because it was on a cold windy Saturday. I hope that this ends up as the biggest home and away crowd of the year but I’m a realist and we get decent crowds but don’t draw giant crowds at our home games.
-
There is no chance it will come close to 90. Crap weather, Covid back it will max out at 75. I'd love it to be like Anzac Eve in 2017 when it was a shock to get 85.5K. We just don't have that many supporters. Ticket sales indicated 70K. Friday nights have also drawn really poorly this year.
-
Goodwin saying the club are hoping for 85-90K is wishful thinking. Suspect it will be between 67-72K. Having said that, weather permitting, the Pies could bring 40K to this and that will make it go close to 80. Very much hoping there 40K+ of us there. Weather should be no excuse, Id happily be sitting shirtless in a hail storm to watch this one. Hopefully our fickle fanbase come out in droves to support this team. Might not watch as good a Melbourne side ever again.

They play the most dire football, its slow and boring. They refuse to use the corridor and in close games we never look like scoring in the last ten minutes. Melbourne are a hard watch. Still far more fun than being 5-13...

I believe everything in our game plan starts with pressure. Don’t believe a word the coaches say when they say pressure drops as a result of the game plan going wrong. no pressure means that oppo entries land 30 metres closer to goal which makes it impossible for lever to play his best game. Steven May is then turning the ball over at half forward rather than kicking to contests on a wing. then it means that our sntries are landing shallow and we have no structure ahead of the ball. midfield, half forward pressure is destroying the game plan at the moment. if we play like we have over the last 6 weeks we will finish 6th and won’t fire a shot in finals. we also have the ability to win our last 6 and finish top. The gap between our best and worse is increasing again

Fixture excuse is the biggest load of rubbish. We beat all the good teams last year and lost to the bottom 4. this year it is the opposite of that. i am clearly having a laugh tho. Expect for Goodwin being a crap game day coach
