Can anyone source where the Sun’s interest in De Goey has come from? Haven’t seen anything reported from the usual journos (apologies if I’ve missed it)

He’s clearly a cultural problem and needs to be traded to us for a future third round pick (with the Suns paying half his salary)

Agree I don’t doubt Demon Forever’s and Ghosty’s info but unless Humphrey is willing to agitate enough over the next two days a trade won’t happen Suns know that push comes to shove we’ll trade picks for Trac, so we don’t have any leverage if Humphrey himself isn’t willing to blow it up

To be fair it’s pretty clear that McVee was saying one thing to the club/supporters than he was to his manager/other clubs Ghosty’s (and Dannyz’s) mail about him was still from a legitimate source, even if we all know you can never be 100% certain

There’s been a rumour going around today and - without being disrespectful to the person who posted it - they don’t have the track record and (known) connections you do to the club

I’m once again posting to say it’s over I love a good leak as much as the next person - and in fact I don’t doubt the info that’s been provided by Demon Forever - but this late in the game there’s no way someone like Twomey isn’t across it if Humphrey has changed managers/will request a trade

This definitely seems to be the case Not saying that there is anything more than a small chance that Humphrey requests a trade, but it seems like none of the info in the media is coming from us The Steven King appointment was a surprise to everyone, so I’m hoping (PRAYING) we have something up our sleeve that hasn’t been leaked to the media yet

My MFCSS is at an all time high right now, but realistically there’s no way Hawks could put together a package this late in the period given they’re still after Merrett Unless Humphrey came out told them in advance that he’s able to get out, I think we’d be the only feasible trading party

It’ll be the most Melbourne thing ever if we miss out on Humphrey because his manager is a dud, and then he gets a new manager after the trade period and moves to a Hawthorn next year

The problem is that nobody believes that we’ll take Trac back next year if a deal falls through If GC genuinely believed that, I think they’d be much more amenable to trading Humphrey even if he didn’t formally request a trade That’s not necessarily all Lamb’s fault (as you’ve laid out in your previous posts about Trac and how he’s damaged the club), but it’s clearly a weakness in our negotiating position

This x100 7 and 8 is actually a decent deal for Trac, but it goes against our position of needing a deal that “turns our heads” Once again our comms about our overarching strategy is terrible If this is a fire sale/rebuild - say it, and stop leading supporters on that you’ll hold out for a great deal or Trac and Clarry will come back to the MFC

And again, I just don’t understand why Bailey’s camp isn’t pushing this harder? If he wants to go as much as he obviously does, his manager should be working overtime to make that clear to GC and to leverage the fact that there’s an interested party in the MFC who can actually give GC something of value

I’ll hold fire until Demon Forever gets home from the BBQ, but it’ll be weak as [censored] if Humphrey has made it very clear he wants to go home and we don’t leverage that in negotiations If we want to settle for picks while there is a potential star wanting to get out, Lamb can pack his bags and fly up with Trac on Thursday morning
