Look I disagree with your view as to why Jordan Lewis came to Melbourne with respect. I quote him here at the time....Lewis, who commenced with the Demons in the 2017 Premiership Season, said he was excited about the new opportunity and the chance to pass on his knowledge. The Demons were not in contention for a Premiership year in 2017 ....“When I decided to retire, I still wanted to have a connection with the Melbourne Football Club,” he told Melbourne Media. And he did through to the 2020 Season end.... My understanding is that he left Hawthorn due in part to their Salary Cap issues at the time. Either way his 55 games with the Demons helped lift the culture of our great Club. I just wonder if he would have ever left the Hawks if not for the Salary Cap unrest that saw his buddy and best friend Jarryd Roughead re commit. Lewis at one stage @ 28 years of age was touted as the next captain of the Hawks. Wiser heads prevailed.. to our advantage.

Look I agree with your thoughts but add Daniel Cross brought professional to the MFC in 2014 that he alone developed, his first year at the D's but I feel Jordan Lewis with Grand Finals under his belt and a protege of No 23 - Alistair Clarkson probably just pips him. It was sad that we had to lose them due to the "Soft Cap" Salary reduction in 2021.

I understand what you are saying but as Goody says it is all about Team balance and if means that other players in the 22 change around to cover a position then there is always other players to fill the void. A classical example is Gus moving to the HB while JJ covers the Wing position - which he did with class last week.

Thought Petty played a serviceable Game tonight. Petty in for Tomlinson for mine. Never been a fan of Smith but even I must confess Smith has played better toey this year. So, maybe Smith for Hunt but in any case changes will be minimal knowing Goody's track record.

BBB for Tomlinson and move T Mc to CHB while we have the luxury to do it. T Mc is too valuable an experienced player to not try that. By the way T Mc had a better AF score than The Weed against Port.

Frankly BBB, although I thought he would be in the Team today, in fairness has not trained all week. Goody and the selection Panel are renowned for limited changes and the mantra that all players should be seen as 100% fit. OK I was proved wrong but clearer heads have prevailed @ selection... That's why I would make a really bad selector.

Because their are other players ahead of him and as I said previously on this thread it is all about Team balance these days with changes while we are winning kept to a minimum. T Mac can be utilised in other areas of the ground in a productive manner. Watch this space @ Team selection

You make a lot of sense but frankly I cannot see T Mac being dropped.

My point is that Goody did play T Mc at CHB on occasions in round one / two through need and even Goody admits that we have a good second string defense right now but it can only get better with the return of the fab four, and I say that based on the fact that we have Lever, Petty, Salem and Hibbo out so that represents over 70% of our "best" defense in rehab OR not in our "best" Team. e.g. the 2021 GF side. So I still see room for improvement when these guys get into form and return. Maybe all four, maybe just three...That will place pressure on our then Casey list and that's a positive for the year ahead so long as injuries are stable as they were in 2021through 2022.... Right now I feel T Mc has the attributes to assist the back seven given we have an inform Weed and BBB. Versatility with the Team grows even more so in the year 2022 as Gus did a few weeks ago on the HBF, now on the wing as against the Gliders....( BOG) Versatility is the name of the game at the Demons in 2021 and through to 2022 and beyond. That is what good sides do. We do it well. But hell what do I know. I am just a passionate supporter like everyone else looking for 2022 glory. We all have our views and we all want the same outcome.

Sorry. I did leave that out and my answer would be = Hunt who needs to get some dare back in his game. I still am a fan of no 29 but consider others ahead of him right now. Look, I think you are part on the money except how can you not include BB , I agree , and then retain The Weed ? Frankly if I were a selector (and thank God I am not) I would bring BB back, retain The Weed and move T Mc to CHB to strengthen the second string back seven till Lever, Salen, Hibbo and Petty are available then re start our thinking then. Like, push the problem out till we have to make a really hard decision...lol
