Three years makes a difference
Wish we had 2018 Melksham on our list. 2018 Viney would be nice. 2018 Hogan would slot in as long as his attitude defensively is ok. 2018 McDonald edges 2021 McDonald, so I'd pick him too over the 2021 variety. Aside from that, 2021 Demons have winners on every line and a far superior gameplan. I think the running in waves we did in that year could catch 2021 Melbourne off-guard on a bad day, but 2021 Demons win 9/10 IMO. Either way, I think the Demons would win.

Max is the Tossing King
To be fair though, everyone knows you need to be in 2nd or 3rd spot in the Top Toss Table to have the best chance of winning the Top Toss Trophy. 8 out of the last 10 Top Toss Trophy teams came from 2nd or 3rd. Truth.

When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
Am I weird for cherishing this record more than the minor premier one?

FINALS: QF vs Brisbane
Should we win next week against the Lions, then Port at Optus Oval would be my bet. Geelong were fearsome, and I pity any of their opponents in the next couple of weeks.

POSTGAME: Rd 23 vs Geelong
Plenty of angles to this, but one is to back our fitness vs the Lions and go off another 6 day break. They'll have a six day break too, and are way slower than us.

7 points you are joking. 5 more scoring shots.

13 points. Up yours you wrist slitters. Half our team stinking up the joint and we're still in it.

GAMEDAY: Rd 23 vs Geelong
The key question here is: How do you stop Geelong from going bang bang bang bang in a patch of white hot form in about 5 minutes? I've seen it happen multiple times this year. Stop that patch of blazing momentum and you have a grinding game that suits us better.

McDonald has shown that if his body is not 100% right, he's woeful. Also, by his own admission he takes several weeks to get into marking form. Well sorry bud, you're my favourite player but we just don't have that sort of time.

One of our best vs the cats last time we played them.

GAMEDAY: Rd 23 vs Geelong
We were off from very early in this game IMO. That says the boys had their minds on other things. I wonder what it could be...

Not going 100%.

GAMEDAY: Rd 23 vs Geelong
No point going hard now. Save your tickets for next week. May and Lever have been pathetic, and McDonald is unsighted. That's bad, as McDonald takes weeks to get into form after being injured.

Defence is being smacked, and nothing is easy going forward, Practically every player on the field is down on their usual form. See you at Adelaide Oval next week Port.

Defending pathetic by our standards.

Defenders not talking. 2 midair collisions one after another.

Have to win by about 6 goals tonight to claim the highest percentage of the season. Meaningless, but would be nice...

NON MFC: Rd 23 2021
I think we need to come to terms with the fact that it doesn’t really matter who we play - dogs and Brisbane are both quality sides. I think I’d rather play a team with losing form then winning form though, and given the choice I’d rather not see Brisbane have the double chance. So go west coast!
