The key question here is: How do you stop Geelong from going bang bang bang bang in a patch of white hot form in about 5 minutes? I've seen it happen multiple times this year. Stop that patch of blazing momentum and you have a grinding game that suits us better.

McDonald has shown that if his body is not 100% right, he's woeful. Also, by his own admission he takes several weeks to get into marking form. Well sorry bud, you're my favourite player but we just don't have that sort of time.

I think we need to come to terms with the fact that it doesn’t really matter who we play - dogs and Brisbane are both quality sides. I think I’d rather play a team with losing form then winning form though, and given the choice I’d rather not see Brisbane have the double chance. So go west coast!

I want to win vs Geelong and play in Adelaide the next week regardless, but it would not be the worst thing should we lose. We then play a real game of football against a real away crowd in the qualifying final. Win that, stay in Adelaide for a couple of weeks to knock over the dregs, then waltz over to Perth for the big one (or, hell, play on Adelaide Oval again with a fair amount of experience there this year if Perth closes up).

One thing I really hope with Jackson is we keep him trim. I think he could very easily turn into a Naitanui type physically, becoming just a burst athlete in the process. Jackson’s strength is that he’s so agile and always in the play. He has to keep that for as long as he can in his career.

Very well deserved. Bowey is tracking to be even better than Christian Salem, which would be a rare feat.
