Good while it lasted though!

Whoops, you're right. Giving away my lack of attention to scripture here...
-
Wouldn't want him to play him on Sundays. He gets absolutely crucified on Sundays.
-
Now the white jumpers are an excuse for poor performance? I'm being flippant but whenever a Melbourne player gets to run out onto a footy ground, I don't care if he is wearing pink and green, there is no excuses for lack of commitment.
-
Voltaire: "Huh?" I don't see how you can believe he has disrepected the club but embrace him as a footballer. You are putting the non-signing squarely on his shoulders, so I don't see how you can turn around and hug him. Your 'beef' would be staring you, literally, in the face...
-
How could you embrace someone you believe has acted in such a way?
-
It stinks.

Old never said he was elite by foot.
-
You have come back to finish your training.

Jeez, BB you can meltdown... I removed the nonsense. And don't get offended again, you would call that nonsense too. The crux of what you are saying is that his inability to give platitudes about staying at Melbourne and his refusal to not wait until the end of the season to talk about his contract is "abhorrent" and "disrepectful to the club." I don't agree. Just like the club is within its rights to ask players to sign contracts in its best interests - Cam Bruce comes to mind - players are within their rights to wait to sign contracts and to sign one-year contracts. It is their right to get the most out of their chosen vocation. He isn't acting abhorrently or showing disrespect just because he is not acting the way the club would like in negotiations. And as for a proposed one year contract - I do not think it would be welcome given that he is being courted by GWS - they would still be able to sign him. And it would also seem to be a slight to the current admin of the club that he will only sign for a third year at the club - seemingly unhappy with the first two and waiting to see if things improve. It's also sad that a player who has not left yet will always be remembered by some fans, if he stays, for treating the club with 'disrespect' with his 'abhorrent' actions... Will you boo him if he returns this year?
-
What 'facts' were in your argument? It was pure opinion, mine differs, deal with it.
-
If this helps you sleep at night, then that is fine. He will be great, and we need to keep him, and we will.
-
You do realise he is including 2010 in that notion? A year Aaron came 4th in the Bluey? A year I do not remember having such a dim view of him?
-
Your actually getting harder to read TBH. And this... ...isn't exactly worthy of winning an argument is it? A 19 year old extending his contract by a year would be rather odd (to put it lightly)... Especially considering that the reason that we are worried about his contract is because of GWS being able to take him. Extending his contract by one year does not end that speculation. And, BB, CTFD, ok? No need for your personal [censored]...

Some of our players are playing consistent footy, the older ones are not. And our culture of near enough is good enough has been around for ages, probably due to the 23 years of non-finals footy we endured. The fans still look back with bitter fondness over '87 and '88, think we were great under Northey's reign, a 'real chance' in '94, and happy with the 'sustained success' under Daniher which led to two top 4 finishes in the first three years and not much after that. What happened in 2004 was worse than what is happenning now - we were top of the ladder a game clear and lost our last 4 games of the season. One agaisnt the eventual Premiers (a 12 goal thrashing over there), and losses against middling sides at Etihad against Sydney (we scored 7 goals), at OO against Carlton, and against WCE in Perth. We then went out in the first week of the finals against Essendon. They had the ability and the whole team was up and firing, and they fell when the pressure was applied. We are young and NQR, and are stalling, this rebuild was never going to be linear. I have faith in the mentality of the kids.

There's no point going through your posting history. You'd be wrong.

Used as an example. Other glib things I could have said range from "I fail to see how us tanking means that Jamar, Grimes, Trengove, Garland, and Bail would become unavailable for an important stretch of games" or "I fail to see how us tanking means that players failed to adequately learn/Bailey adequately teach a decent press."
-
We didn't value winning, but to tank was the selfish act of a club who saw an opportunity and did what was necessary. It was beautiful. I honestly didn't think the club had enough see you next tuesday to do it, and I really don't think Daniher would have allowed it. Don't know who was the primary pusher but thanks to Bailey, Schwab and co. Oh, and I fail to see how Green and Davey being mentally weak has anything to do with us tanking two years ago. Oh, and we were [censored]. We just made sure we got what was coming to us. Can I get a +1?
-
Of course he is KS. But whatever floats your boat I guess.
-
Pretty [censored] big exceptions... It's always funny to see someone with a particular idea attempt to elaborate and give the old 'exceptions in brackets but I hope no-one notices them' writing tool. Two AA's and a bloody good CHB/HBF/whatever.
-
Aaron had more contested possies... Double, in fact.

Does the poster that sits closer to the coaches box have a better view? Or is the third tier a better view? I usually sit behind the benches so it is difficult to see across to the SS wing, does that affect my ability to judge the coaches responsibility? I mean, lol, DC. It's a bit lazy to go for the 'tyranny of distance' put down, even if you did misinterpret what I said. I went to fair few games in 2008 and 2009, and have to carefully pick the games I do see know to coincide with my own football fixture. I doubt many fans would spend the money I do to get down to Melbourne as regularly as I do. And, lastly, being at the game doesn't mean you know what you are looking at... Some of those who are based in Melbourne actually thought Melbourne would win 12-14 games this year...

Removed the BS. I was referring to the ability for many of the older members of this forum to tacitly attribute the past-failures of the Dees to those currently working there. And from my high horse high in Canberra I can, apparently, see a frackload more than many of the members on here living in Melbourne where apparently proper opinions on the Demons are transferred via touch or close contact osmosis, possibly ESP...
-
I'd remove that effing emoticon. Yes, DC, what the frack has Canberra got to do with my assertion that pre-2008 failure cannot be attributed to the Demons circa 2011 and those involved at the club - ie. Bailey?

He is, or should be, a top 5 player at this club. He has had consistent seasons up to 2011 and has gone missing as the responsibility has increased. He wouldn't be in the top 10-12 players in the Bluey and that is an indictment. And, no, he is not a top player. But he is still in the top 5 right now at this club and he is performing like a fringe player.
