  1. It's been in the news recently, the AFL Players Association wants a greater share of the 1.25 billion. It's more a case of starting negotiations than 'finalising' negotiations...
  2. Wow. Aren't we adventurous. Bailey is the most selfless coach I have ever witnessed...
  3. Or delete.
  4. Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) is what you are thinking of. Might want to edit.
  5. Only you could get angry at Bailey for something he said that is only contained in your 'head movies.'
  6. I agree that Northey had a harder edge than subsequesnt coaches, but he was quite draining apparently with his prematch addresses of "they think your not good enough, nobody thinks your good enough." It was the "us v them" mentality that produced some consistency, but as you get more relevant the message loses its punch.
  7. It's the goal you set, in an attempt to reach it. Like - "senior players will be shining example of a proper attitude and consistency..." Hasn't happened, but you shouldn't expect anything less.
  8. Are there nuances? Or if you have the view that it is too early to say whether he should continue, are you a Bailey Fanatic? I find that there is beauty in grey...
  9. There you go. "We are relevant." We have to believe it ourselves before we can convince anyone else. Oh, I like that line...
  10. I'm trying to make a statement, not assuage any misgivings or fears you have about our players leaving. If we wish to be a big club, we cannot have a mindset of "assuming players are leaving so that if it happens you are not disappointed." That's a defeatist attitude and below what we wish to be as a club. Is it not? We have made significant improvements to our club and it's staff, facilities, networks, and playing list. When do we get to have some more confidence in our clubs ability to keep its best players and attract the best?
  11. I explained what I meant and you belittled my opinion and illustrated your complete lack of faith in the club at the minute. We all say "Hasn't Stynes done a great job! We are gonna have respect soon!" Well you don't get respect until you act like you deserve it. We. Don't. Lose. Our. Best. Players. Welcome to the Melbourne Football Club.
  12. I realise that if we have the kind of development we wish to see from Gysberts, McKenzie, Scully, and Trengove, then Jones and Moloney will have to be playing very good footy to retain their place. At the moment they are doing just that. And to lose their experience would be another step backwards. And by that I don't mean we have taken steps backward in development, by that I mean we have become younger and lost experience EVERY year under Bailey.
  13. I would write that but I don't suffer from MFCSS. And it wouldn't fit on a bumper sticker...
  14. The "we keep our best players" was a sort-of 'clarion call' than a statement of fact. As in - "This is the era we keep our all the players we wish to keep as the MFC is a strong, united club."
  15. My mail, from a few people at Croc Media (I know...), is that they are chasing him hard but that he tells them the same as what he tells us - I'm not talking about this at the moment. I want us, as Melbourne supporters, to get to a place where we are genuinely suprised and devastated by good young talent leaving. I don't like this 'optimistic pessimist' idea of 'I will assume the worst so that whatever happens I won't be dissappointed/devastated.' We will never be a big club if we don't think like one. You gotta fake it 'till you make it.
  16. That's pretty much why every other Dees supporter who thinks he is gone, has that view. Be brave, he'll stay. We keep our best players.
  17. I can back the McLean was dispensible argument with, well, reality. Davey was very good last year. Moloney is an elite clearance player. Jones is having a very good season. These are all facts.

    "Get Jamar"

Melbourne will be like Venice but the G will have a surrounding levee system that allows it to stay intact. The money will be spent, because it has to be spent.

    "Get Jamar"

When is our window? 2013-2019ish. How much of that will Jamar play? I think he can play, even PCL-less, into his early thirties. That gives him until around 2017ish. We should keep him. On a side note, does anyone else feel weird when they see years like '2017' being around the corner? As a sci-fi fan, it is a little offputting...
  20. Jurrah is icing, he isn't the cake. Get the cake right, and we will getting diabetes...if you follow me.
  21. Because they see him acting in an abhorrent manner that is disrespectful to the club. Why not boo him?
  22. Fev, Davey, and Scully all in the same Casey side...
  23. Ugh. I have been nice enough and given you plenty of posts to make sense of it. I think you have failed. Others can decide for themselves.
  24. So Tom not reading the market well is the issue? That he won't get more in his contract at seasons end than he will now, so he should just re-sign now and not waste his time? Maybe signing contracts later will become the norm? Especially in the era of free agency? Cameron Bruce was signed in March of 2007 for the years of 2008, 2009, and 2010. Was that too early from our perspective? Did we leave it too late with Bruce last year? Are clubs the only ones allowed to make these judgements, or our players also allowed to wait?
  25. Leave the passive aggressiveness at the door, hmm? I'm not talking about the players. I'm talking about you. How can have such a low opinion of Tom but be completely forgiving if he happens to be wearing a red and blue jumper?
