  1. As long as there were no swooping magpies!!
  2. Report from Ghostwriter went to Goschā€™s this morning and sent me this reportā€¦ 1st - 4th year players today. Some seniors chose to attend: Viney, Salo, Fritta, Tmac, HP35. The vibe was amazing. The sunshine and lack of wind made it even better. They all look great; trim and toned and not one of them is out of shape. You thought Vines couldnā€™t possibly get any musclier? Think again. Good luck trying to tackle him, oppo chumps, see you in the broken bones ward at the Royal Melbourne! Nathan Basset already commanding much respect from the boys as well as Goody and Chocco. Very professional. Troy Chaplin confident and decisive when addressing his charges. Idk if Tom Campbell is any good at footying but believe me, heā€™s a lovely person. Itā€™s no wonder he and BBB are besties, carbon copy right there. Chin Chandler rocking a dramatic buzzcut. First reaction: WTF?! Immediately followed by It actually looks good. No easing into training this preseason. No siree Bob. Straight into serious, physical drills. A lot of practice at baulking a couple of players while running into open goal. Leb puts the ā€œWinā€ in ā€œWindsor.ā€ He absolutely nailed it. Woey junior super impressive when tackling, the boy simply does not let up. Brings one to ground, springs back up and takes down another one. So good to see. Jed Adams was wearing #19 (shack attackā€™s body isnā€™t even cold yet) but itā€™s probably only because he didnā€™t have a clean #26. Ollie Sestan looks great. Clearly hasnā€™t missed a single day in the gym. Seems super confident when talking about a potential debut in the offing. Jeffo also appears way more confident compared to last season. Not afraid to go in hard. Seems more agile as well. Still needs to straighten tf up but the Quasimodo is no longer as prominent. A slightly deranged regular was there. She gave Goody a big ā€˜ol bear hug and told him sheā€™s so happy now that all that shhiitt is behind him after years of having to listen to the nasty allegations and that sheā€™s even happier that heā€™s still our coach. He genuinely appreciated her sentiment then went on to praise the Demon Army. Love that guy. Chocco the complete opposite. He showed the slightly deranged one a video he took at Ikon during the last W H&A match. He took it from above and behind the cheer squad and said the CS is too noisy and raucous and extremely annoying, in particular the slightly deranged one and that next time heā€™s gonna bring a bottle of water to tip on her head. She told him to GAGF. šŸ¤£ ā€˜Til next time, Kat. Lotsa love, your friend xxx
  3. God help us if any of those Year 8s are on the board!!! Put it this way, three of them were on detention for mucking around during the minute's silence today...šŸ„“
  4. This. Just this. I can only imagine what the whole situation has been doing to him stress wise. So good the club and Goody can put it all to bed and focus on the team.
  5. Is it just me, or does Chunk look happy as a pig in mud to be back? That photo with Fritta is priceless!!
  6. I spoke to Richo at the last round of AFLW, he's of the opinion that it may take another couple of years to get Gus back engaged in any football. He said he's not even allowed to play golf at the moment, insurance reasons, which is pretty sad.
  7. I'm impressed Fritta was there, was having a chat with his mum on Friday night at a Demon Army event, she said he and Natalie only flew in on Friday night from overseas.
  8. Ghost writer has said report will come when she gets home. So it may be posted here after I teach my Period 5 class. Nonetheless it's coming. She did drip feed this gem - "I gave Goody a big ol' hug and told him I'm glad that all that s*&^ is behind us now. He said thank you, it's great to have your support. Then he saw my Demon Army cap and said, 'And the Demon Army! You guys are incredible, always for us, we really appreciate you guys!' It was a special moment, he looked so touched. The poor bugger has put up with the bs for years."
  9. Report is coming, my ghost writer is there. So far the main report is meeting Tom Campbell, and thinking he's the sweetest person alive, much in the same vein as Benny Brown.
  10. That's one impressive autocorrect!! I thought we were moving into the literal aspect of surrealism, after all the media stuff we've endured!
  11. I'll message her shortly. ATM I'm wrangling a Year 8 class who's not in the mood of doing any work!
  12. I'm not sure. I saw her on Friday night but we didn't talk about training, we were at a Demon Army birthday party.

I'm jealous of anyone who was at the TISM concert on Saturday! I decided not to go after seeing the seating area was sold out, as because of my bad knee I can't stand for that amount of time. TISM had lots of footy references in their song, in fact they did the theme for Triple M when they started broadcasting football matches in the 90s, "Shut Up, Footy's on the Radio"
  14. Who's there? Who's missing?
  15. I'm sad about that, she's a cutie. Really sweet girl.
  16. I'm sure she will be. It's how we got Casey Sheriff and Saraid Taylor, who were replacement players for Daisy Pearce and Sammi Johnson when they were pregnant. Both were extended.
  17. You beat me to it, I was going to say the same thing!! Clubs have no say over the use of Ticketmaster.
  18. Yeah, 8 years of Great Depression with food rations would do that to a society

I can see that yet again the positive attitudes in Demonland are shining through.
  20. I think the combination of Loz and Campbell in the ruck is very handy, especially as they can both play forward. In the latter part of the season we had three quality rucks which was definitely a luxury, but alas Rhi's retirement brings us back to 2. I would be happy to keep Tayla, especially as Gall is still developing. I do think Tay's role will revert back into the forward again, with the option of her filling in in the ruck if needed (ie if both Georgia Campbell and Loz Pearce are unavailable for whatever reason. Paxy I fear may have played her last game, she's 37 now and her foot is pretty much cactus. Gabby Colvin I think will put in another year. I hope so, she was having a ripper of a season before her concussion, reaching her pre ACL form. She's keen to play on, providing a fantastic support for Gillard and Chaplin.
  21. They were top up players, not on our list. So they don't actually have AFLW contracts. Also Denby Taylor was a replacement player for Aimee Mackin, who was put on our inactive list very early in the piece.
  22. Cheers for the update. I had a feeling this might be the case.
  23. What's the situation with Noah Yze? Is he set to be drafted this year? Because I can't see his name mentioned anywhere and we only have two draft picks, and no spots in rookie A.

Players were all in black armbands for Jack. I chatted to Edo after the game, she said the players were all devastated about the accident. The club has reached out to the family and offered support.
  25. Fair enough, I apologise :)
