  1. May Salem Trac Hunter Max Bowey
  2. We're playing outside of the 8 footy........another poor 3rd quarter. That said, can't buy a free in the fwd 50....Sparrow nearly had his head reefed off 20 out - 'play on'....ffs
  3. Kosi needs to play crummer not tall
  4. wasting our ascendency
  5. hunter looking good
  6. bad miss chandler
  7. Joel Smith makes the contest in the air - has looked good so far
  8. Baggers have come to play
  9. Agree on Hibberd - this is a clutch game and Hibbo's drive and aggression will be missed....other than that, am ok with Tomlinson and Smith in. Thommo can take McKay , May tags Charlie and Lever floats. BBB not suited to wet footy anyway - his time will come. Our small forwards have to step up.
  10. Curnow is a very tricky one - my thoughts are to play May on him. Charlie is an overhead and man on man beast and I feel May has the spoil, aggression and overhead capacity to at least challenge him. I'd bring Thommo back to sit McKay, send Spargo or Chandler back to Casey and move Bowey to half forward. - the bloke can kick straight Lever can float as is his best role. Fair chance it's going to be slippery, so lots of ground ball for our smaller forwards who ought be under strict instructions to leave the overhead work to Tmac,JVR and Fritta. Gawn and Reg Grundy to drift back behind the play and bolster defence.
  11. At this stage - Possible shower - becalmed....no wind to speak of
  12. Excellent call - young, inspirational leader, Max can relax and enjoy his footy
  13. There's the difference in a nutshell - D's bomb it fwd/Dockers lower eyes for a set shot.
  14. jVr's contest in the square does it for Fritta.....
  15. Max n Brody have a big challenge at the tap and around the ground....
  16. Petty may be an in given that The Shack is looking like an out with a bent paw. Thought he was a bit tentative, bit Weedlike, for a bigger body anyways.....who is to be the sub? Harmes again? Milkshake served up a 5 goal BOG for Casey, which keeps the pressure on, as does Charlie's availability......further spoiled for choice with MacT, BB et al in the wings....no wonder Nibbler is playing like a Demon possessed....
  17. Kossi is elite - his delivery into the fwd line is first class. We are a significantly better team with him playing and I hope he is being handsomely rewarded for what he delivers.
  18. I also think the Weid has been much more effective as a ruckman, both going the tap and around the ground in general/his foot skills are excellent...my issue is that he doesn't impose himself enough when the opportunity presents and is often seen on the periphery of packs as an observer. Think Nankervis or Kreuzer. In my mind both added extra value by way of crashing packs, bulldozing with knees and elbows as weapons and thus inflicting damage and slowing opposition. The Weid needs to add this to his quiver to complete the job.
  19. He left the field bleeding from the nose as well......
  20. Agree on this - Charlie may need a stint in the 2's to put a bomb up him / Bowey's delivery is almost as good as Charlie's and he's way more of a dog at it...would play Bowey ahead of Bedford too
  21. Looks dangerous with Fritta and Kozzie in that mix.....
  22. Bowey making an excellent case for 2023 usurping a few of those who played last night??..........
  23. "Dunstan is great depth, and I feel for him that he is out at Casey rather than playing the 1s somewhere. Unlucky that none of our mids had an injury this year to keep them out. He really is a very good player. " - I reckon Dunstan would have had plenty more AFL time at a club that had a policy not to field injured and out of form players......
  24. "Gee Weid can kick. Come on bud, stay and have Jackson’s role "......Problem is the Weid doesn't get that many possessions at AFL level to enable use of that quality delivery - frustrating, as that is exactly what the 1sts need.....the strategy going forward for the 2's is so much more effective than the 1's - our first quarter last night was promising / fast and direct going forward rather than lh fwd pocket repetition. Tomlinson and Disco have both been impressive - how about a TMac, JVR, Petty fwd line next season??? BBB insurance in the VFL.
