Why no key forward?
He beat May and co on Kings Bday this year. Probably the only good game heās ever played.

Why no key forward?
If weāre going with the JVR, Petty and Turner combo again (and Jefferson doesnāt come on) they simply need to kick more goals. We were AFL #14 for points which tells me that our 3 talls need give a fair bit more. Particularly Petty who kicked 9.15 from 18/19 games as a forward and maybe 1/2 games as a defender. That is quite frankly atrocious. I donāt know how you spin it anyway. JVR should aim for a minimum of 38 goals but ideally into the low 40ās next year. Turner was probably the surprise packet of the year given we all assumed heād be a defender this year. 17 goals from 15 games suggests to me that heās capable of a 30 goals season. Heās a quality set shot. So in answer to the question, the club must be satisfied with their forward stocks and didnāt see the need in recruiting B Graders in the form of Membrey, Day or Darling.

Welcome to Demonland: Harry Sharp
No AFL highlights on the MFC forum for Sharp but thereās a dodgy clip of one of his AFL goals on YouTube. edit - tried to post on this thread but no luck

Dan Houston
That's actually his strength as a player. He does something with it. Quality not quantity. His inside 50 entries are elite and something our club could only dream of. I can see your point about Butters, Rozee and JHF getting all the attention though.

Oliver Trade Rumours
Agree with this. Listened to McClure last night who is so desperate for Santa to deliver him the Oliver trade for his Christmas present. Not a word spoken about Oliver last night after dedicating 50% of very show last week to him.

Cats Set for More Games at The Cattery
McClure on 3AW said it was completely unfair on all the VIC clubs and could not believe this was going ahead. At the end of the day, it's their home ground. They're entitled to play as many games they like down there. Their home finals get played away from their home ground, which more often than not is their undoing.

Yes please. But I know that ship has sailed. Absolute gun. Reigning 2 X All Australian and has previously kicked the winning goal after the siren from 55 meters out in wet conditions are probably an indication

Cats Set for More Games at The Cattery
I'm struggling to see the outrage in this as per above. Means that one more VIC powerhouse has to go down to pay Geelong (eg - Carlton, Essendon or Collingwood) rather than JUST the usual third class citizens like us, the Dogs and North. Having said that, nothing surer than Collingwood playing Geelong once next year, with Collingwood being the home team. Or if they do play twice, Geelong will be the home team.... .....at Gather Round.

9 Reasons to be Positive Heading into 2025
100% spot on with Montagna, but heād had enough of us by years end, and rightly so.

2024 Player Reviews: #38 Oliver Sestan
I donāt see the issue of a token debut in a token game of footy that was round 24. The game was absolute bush league level. We were clearly shooting for a higher draft pick given the high probability that St Kilda and Suns were winning. If we were fair dinkum we wouldnāt have warehoused May and got Lever out of his sick bed. Compare the effort we put in against the Suns compared to the Pies. Therefore what harm wouldāve it done giving Sestan or Jeffo a taste?

2024 Player Reviews: #38 Oliver Sestan
With the lack of appetite and application we brought into the round 24 game against Collingwood (compared to the prior week) hindsight says we couldāve debuted Sestan and Jefferson for that game to give them a taste of AFL footy against a high quality club.

Welcome to Demonland: Harry Sharp
20 touches and a goal. Quality not quantity?? Who knows, I doubt many of us saw the game.

Not the latter.

Welcome to Demonland: Harry Sharp
Had a read of the Brisbane Bigfooty forum and the overall vibe about Sharp was positive: Reasonably disappointed to see him go Excellent athletically Was said to be dominant in an early season VFL game over Casey which may have piqued our interest MCG will suit his playing style and Langdon could be a good mentor Disposal iffy (but who hasn't got iffy disposal at the MFC) And some here say comments: Apparently Fullarton and his Dad not are not overly excited about being at the MFC. A certain someone that is no longer on the list will be a positive for the MFC in terms of behavioural and cultural issues. The player was mentioned numerous times on their forum.

Delistings 2024
Collinwood must have remembered Tomlinson's career best game against them in Kings Bday 2023, the one where he got dropped the following week.

Welcome to Demonland: Harry Sharp
SEN just interviewed their footy manager Danny Daly. He confirmed that we've shown heavy interest in Sharp and gave the impression that they won't stand in his way unlike another club I can think of. Fair possibility he'll be with us next year.

Welcome to Demonland: Harry Sharp
Hunter signed a 5 year contract prior to the 2019 season with the Dogs to take him through to the end of 2023. Therefore we either extended his contract by 2 further years when he came across to us at the end of 2022 or his solid 2023 season set off a trigger. As for Sharp, his PB at AFL level is an 18 possession 1 goal game against the Suns earlier this year and he also had a 19 possession 3 goal game in one of the VFL finals just gone.

Oliver Trade Rumours
McClure actually gets a lot wrong. In addition to the Harley Reid drafting stuff up that he muffed, he also came up with this zinger almost a year ago in regards to Opening round 2024: āTonight I can reveal exclusively on air that the AFL will be sending Collingwood and Essendon up to Sydney for the inaugural opening round 2024 to play Sydney and GWSā

Oliver Trade Rumours
Iāve never heard of a person more desperate for an AFL trade to happen than Sam McClure wanting Oliver to head to Geelong. Itās as if he wants Clarry to go to Geelong more than Clarry himself.

9 Reasons to be Positive Heading into 2025
Re the easier fixture: If we had Fremantle's 2024 fixture who finished 14th in 2023, we'd play the following teams twice in 2025 based on 2024 rankings: GWS, Hawthorn, Carlton, Collingwood, Gold Coast and Richmond. Is that really that much easier on paper?
