  1. I think BBB may have just edged out Weideman for a game. (not sure why the commentators have been debating this throughout the night)
  2. Geez we have a woeful record against West Coast. 2 wins in 12 years or thereabouts.
  3. That would be a really poor result if we win tonight but end up finishing 3rd and face Port over there. Hopefully the Dogs beat Port in round 23. Sounds like T Mac’s out.
  4. Indeed we will.
  5. There might be a small crowd allowed for Geelong V Melbourne given that regional VIC will be 12 days out of lockdown, but as I mentioned earlier they prefer to wait two full weekends after lockdown.
  6. Firstly, it will be a miracle if the GF is at the MCG. We'll have to come out of lock down ASAP and no crowds will be allowed for the first 2 weekends after lockdown. And then hope for literally no further community transmission through late August and into September. Secondly, you'd imagine a few guaranteed GF MFC members would miss out. You'd have something like: 15,000 Competing clubs 9,000 AFL members 11,000 MCC members 1,750 non competing clubs 2,500 Medallion Clubs 11,000 Corporates
  7. Was that the incident which M Long copped a draconian penalty of a 4 week suspension - that had to be served in the entire 2001 Ansett Cup? Remarkably he was eligible to play in round 1 2001 and actually played in round 2 2001 Vs Port at Docklands.
  8. Yeah, I was kidding myself as I posted. No chance we're out of lockdown until Thu 19 Aug. No crowds for 2 weekends after (round 23 and bye week) would have a crowd by qual final weekend at the absolute earliest, but probably more likely semi final weekend after the constant outbreaks we've had.
  9. 11 linked cases, with 1 in isolation today. If we're 6 linked and all 6 were in isolation by Thursday, we'll come out of lockdown on Thursday and watch our boys play at the G in the qualifying final (IMO). A massively tall order though.
  10. IMO, lock down would need to end this Thursday evening as planned, if we're any hope of having a crowd during week 1 finals. Judging on post lock down 4 and 5, the government likes to have 2 full weekends of no crowds (post lock down), and then a crowd on the third weekend. For instance we came out of lockdown a few days before round 13 (Q'Bday weekend) and crowds were back round 15. If we come out of lockdown on Thursday week, crowds could be back semi final weekend.
  11. I’d imagine it will be a Sunday 1:10pm Foxtel or 3:20pm Ch 7 game.
  12. Surely we can put the fanciful idea of a month long hub in Perth to bed. You could have Port, Geelong, Sydney and Brisbane hosting week 1 finals. I know nothing is fair in this pandemic, but that’s genuinely unfair for those teams who have the right to host a final.
  13. What a tremendous win from the Dons and Peter Wright.
  14. 15 minutes into the 1st and all the marginal umpiring calls have gone the Dogs way.
  15. McGowan and his chief health officer are making a significant announcement any moment according to the Age's live COVID update. Might not be anything of note, but still interesting to read the word 'significant' https://www.theage.com.au/national/australia-covid-live-updates-nsw-records-262-new-case-and-one-death-as-queensland-lockdown-lifts-victoria-records-11-new-cases-20210807-p58gpx.html
  16. Damien Barrett on the footy show isn’t a massive subscriber to the Perth finals hub and is quietly confident that finals will be played in Melbourne aside from the grand final. I would rather a home final at the MCG in front of nobody rather than giving up a footballing advantage in Perth. And further to that, clubs don’t get the gate proceeds in finals. Fingers crossed we can somehow get rid of this outbreak and perhaps see our boys live in an MCG semi or prelim final.
  17. Would this delta variant have come into Australia if we closed our borders on all but the double dosed returnee Australians who had to prove that they did 28 days (yes 28, not 14) supervised quarantine prior to departure. All but the absolute triple confirmed negative tested returnee Australian should have been allowed back into our country. Some very tough decisions perhaps could’ve been made in order to prevent where we are today.
  18. I don’t want him but if he doesn’t play in round 10, we’re top of the ladder.
  19. Except in WA and that state is going to reap the rewards next month. Now I finally understand why the people of Western Australia love Mark McGowan and why he’s segregated his state from the rest of the country.
  20. Oh well at least he can’t kick a goal after the siren against us again.
  21. Giants will hang on.
  22. Just remember ladies and gentlemen, history says Geelong most likely ain’t winning a flag on a 12-0 run.
  23. Might have a bit of a problem here fellas. Only 15 pts down and GWS off a 5 day break.
  24. I think you’ll get your wish. Can’t see a VIC crowd by 21 August. If the AFL make the dreaded Perth September decision, the Geel V Dees game could even be at Perth’s Optus Stadium.
  25. Love watching Toby Greene when he’s on song (except against us!)
