Right now it’s hard to see Goodwin surviving past this year, if we play like this against a team who has a day out it’s going to get very ugly. Mentally and physically we are no where near the level to compete for finals. Throw in lots of inexperienced players a new game plan and experienced players way out of form and no confidence. This has the hallmarks of a year from hell and given the history of this club in my lifetime it’s probably not going to turn around quickly.

Some of that first half was horrible but we still have a sniff but we still could get flogged.

Seriously the standard of umpiring since they added the extra umpire is atrocious. It’s getting harder and harder to watch non Melbourne games.

I don’t really get too worked up about team selections. But it does do my head in a little bit watching a club pick a debutant as sub play them for a quarter then drop them. I just don’t think it’s fair on the player, I get it if there is no one else available but that wasn’t the case last week.

Yep very hard to sustain. Their team buy in reminds me of us in 21 though. Very early days of course and hopefully they lose form and can’t find it again.

I know I am in the minority around here with how we will go this season but despite a lot of positives today we still lost. If we are to make finals this year we can’t afford to lose the close ones. XL with an amazing debut looked like a seasoned pro. Kozzy and McVee could well be two of our three most important players, we lack X factor and a gun lock defender without them. Looking forward to watching the development of our youngsters this year.
