I've heard Bowie isn't even our best player from that draft.
Jason Taylor is a weapon.

Also big big props to Josh Mahoney who made a lot of pivotal trades happen, when others carried on like pork chops about overpaying.

It's a shame Tom Scully missed out. Does anyone think he is in the past players group chat group?

I've said it in another post and I will repeat it. Ben Brown didn't get removed from North Melbourne his partner did.
She was a culture killer. Loved by some, hated by many.
I have this very reliably from a board member at North, not a list manager.

Hope we don't get a typhoon or some other natural disaster.
I'm pretty keen to see the premiership flag raised at the G but at this rate you can't take things for granted.

I have on very good authority his partner was very divisive. North wanted her out more than him.
We just won the premiership but that is why we got him in a fire sale.

Bet on Melbourne premiership into Adelaide making the 8. Burgess can transform teams, Adelaide will be good next year. We will still be the best.

A friend of mine woke up in Bali with a hakuna mata tattoo from the lion king movie. Didn't even remember getting it.
Anybody getting a Dees tattoo will probably fair better.

As soon as Harmes kicked that bullet to Fritsch, i knew we were back in it. That said, Fritta’s kick just scraped in…
So did Gawns goal but we were robbed of that.

Unfortunately some of the comments are not what I'm talking about. Yes we were unbelievable lucky it was in WA and our team made and won, true amazing. Yes we feel for die hard supporters over east (because of one stupid airport transfer person and a couple of movers) but that is not what I'm talking about. I wasn't there in Melbourne on 88 and 2000 build ups (crap result), I had to watch from afar like many others had to do this year. Year after year we sit in WA watching our team on tv being jealous of those that could got live games almost every weekend, we may get 1 or 2 a year. We do treasure the few games we get to see for our membership. I am jealous about the family days people have at Luna park when I read about them etc as I can't take my kids along or other club functions. My kids have been members since they were born, I've been since I earned an income in WA. If it was at the G we would have been watching from here on tv, except for those lucky few that could get a seta to the game. Thats life for an interstate supporter as some on here experience and we accept, that out only other choice is win lotto to fly to games or move.
But being in WA we get very little access or none to meet players for junior supporters, that's a fact. They used to have dinners which if you go back years I wrote reports on and open training sessions. I did go through my photos and the last photo we had was 25th May 2013, my two oldest got a photo with Jack Watts and Nathan Jones. Those saying I'm winging, when was the last time your kids got to meet a player in person. Due to modern sports science and travel routines they are in and out very quick for games in Perth, we accept that, that's life its best for the team.
This time the players has time after the GF no matter the result. Pert said if we win it'll be an event in the city, if they lose it'll be at Joondalup arena (Where they had the open training, where 500 turned up and I know a lot of kids did not attend due to school). He said supporters would have access to players and officials then, as they couldn't previously due to covid rules. That is the issue, they could have set aside 1 hour in a park anywhere and say meet us there to the members and we'd be there.
I wouldn't be complaining if I were you. My daughter loves Max Gawn, Petracca and Daisy without meeting any of them.
We just won the premiership in a global pandemic and you want to complain.
Anybody complaining is not following the Melbourne ethos of being "selfless"

Does Max live within 10km of the G to take it home?

My daughter who is 7yo asked my mum, her grandma, how old she was when Melbourne won their last premiership, she was 7yo old too. I knew we were home before the first bounce.

I preferred JJ when it was clear a choice between the two needed to be made, but the footy department showed why they’re the experts and I’m not. Completely looked the part in the finals. He’s a booming and accurate kick, and tough as nails. Played his best game for the year in the Grand Final.
The best thing is JJ would have too.

Bartlett did a lot of good for our club.
This thread is about how Roffey supported Goodwin, gave him belief and helped drive the values the club has espoused this year.
Last year I recall Bartlett scorching Goodwin and the players publicly and by all accounts completely blindsided them. Deserved? Possibly. But that behaviour was the antithesis of building teamwork, support and to engender belief in people.
Last year Bartlett put a real dent in our culture. Roffey, as outlined in the Offsiders, has repaired it.
Do you know what our win / loss ratio is since Bartlett wrote that?

5 of the last 6 premierships have been won by clubs presided over by women.
It could be a coincidence, or it could be that it's time to bring in more women into administrative roles at football clubs.
I'm a massive advocate of best person for the job.
5 of the 6 last premierships were won with female presidents. Won on merit and not because they were women.
No tokens.
Go dees and go women in football.

I think we've all watched it enough to know Sparrows goal was awesome and Dogga was brilliant in the ruck. But this was an Oliver and Petracca blitz. Not just their goals but they setup Sparrows.
