Whatever works to fit your narrative m8. Collingwood have wanted him out for two seasons now. Maybe think about why rather than presenting a highlights package and some questionable D/E stats to try and prove your point.

Turning the ball over on the spread?
-
We think aside from a great turn of speed, he is a fairly ordinary footballer who runs harder forward than he does back. A problem that was highlighted within our midfield not so long ago. His biggest weakness is his inability to lower his eyes, spot free players and hit them. Bombing long to contests won't hurt his D/E so I can't for the life of me understand why posters use it as a means of talking about how good or bad a player's kick is. There is no measure or stat that reveals how many free targets a player ignores when going to kick. Aside from his speed, we have a plethora of midfielders who share similar weaknesses and unless we got him at an absolute bargain as far as both trading and contract go, I would be gobsmacked if we were considering going hard for him.

Look mate, you're the one who looks like the grand goose on this forum and the joke is most clearly and certainly on you, not the posters overreacting. You say you "weren't taking things too seriously" but stated on several occasions in bold that Smith was 100% going to be a demon and not to worry. Think about how silly that is for a minute. Very silly. The irony is that YOU were the one that took things too seriously, so rather than deflect in all of this and make out as if you were just "having a laugh", swallow some of that pride and take the criticism that you, and only you, set yourself up for. Several posters on this forum have good intel but post when a deal is being finalised. Maybe take that approach next time eh?

I don't understand many posters. It's obvious to me that unless you've seen the signed contract with your own eyes, why on earth would one ever set themselves up in the way that @Dr evildid by making ultimatums? @Dr evil deserves what has come on this site because of poor word choice. Nothing more nothing less. Hopefully a lesson learnt for the future pal.
-
This sure is polarising given your dislike for "speculation".
-
You will receive great adulation in due course.
-
@Dr evil definitively said that Smith is coming and it'll be announced this week so I'm not sure why posters are saying "things can change". Isn't that right @Dr evil?
-
Could be so. I'm not sure what the issue is with me asking the question. I've read this site for a long time and have never noticed @Dr evilpost with intel. And if he has, does anyone know what his track record is like? Pretty easy question.
-
One would think Jordan would have hinted at Smith coming across this morning if in fact he has made his decision as @Dr evilmade clear last week.
-
Out of interest, what's @Dr evil's track record like? Or is this trolling at its finest?
-
Dean Solmoman. Hated him as a player for Essendon but have heard great things and would love him as an assistant. Hope we've asked the question.

Like Mitch and feel for him given he was in and out of the side more than someone like Melksham who was arguably worse in many games throughout the year. Having said that, we seem to run too many hybrid medium/talls in the forwardline and we're in desperate need of a change up in terms of personnel in our forward 50. I'm hoping we target another small, highly skilled and high pressure forward similar to pickett. Quality entries inside 50 and pressure on defenders in our D50 are so important and for the last two years we've underperformed in both those areas.
-
No worries. I'll get the thread back on topic. I think we've missed McCartney's presence at the club enormously and it's time we bring in some quality around Goodwin. We need some fresh faces, ideas and people who command genuine respect so that some of those wayward players on our list get back on the straight and narrow. I understand that positions will be reduced but we need some quality personnel in and around our playing group if we're any shot at some success.

Don't take it to heart. Care to divulge some info on your sources or at least what circles they mix in? You might be taken more seriously if you shed some light.
-
Matey, you said that you either "read the msg wrong" or your "mate changed it". Not sure how much cred anyone is going to give you after reading that mess of a sentence.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
JimmyGadson replied to Dee tention's topic in Melbourne Demons
This joint needs some Sass sometimes. -
It's clearly both. And aside from their elite core, Richmond's support players are by far and away better than ours and many opposition sides, and to me it's clear that certain posters on here don't rate their support players as much as I do. Grimes, Edwards, Prestia, Vlastuin, Baker, etc. They're quality.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN

Yeh we're all hearing. It's all over the papers, internet and radio matey. -
I never made that point. I said we didn't develop Oscar in the manner we should have. You seem unable to follow what I said.
-
Clutching at straws. They're in another grand final. Their system is one of the best we've seen and would challenge any of those superstar teams you're talking about. The definition of a star team.
-
Yeh look, I'd hardly term Richmond 'ordinary' when comparing to dominant teams of the past. You're on your own there. Obviously equalisation measures have impacted the competition, but that hasn't made it easier for us any way whatsoever. It's most clearly made it harder. Yeh we've got a core with a lot of potential, but the last two years is proof of how many ingredients need to be there to have any sort of sustainable success. You make it sound as if it's bound to happen. I'm glad you're shattered, hopefully it's a bit of a reality check.

Wingmen rely on a strong contested ball and clearance midfield mix so Hawthorn's decline as a side over the years has obviously made life harder for Smith. Smith's output would be immediately boosted if he came to us given our strength in winning it at the coal face.
