  1. I’m not interested in whether Weid can kick a bag, but looking for him to hold his marks. No more dropped marks or double grabbers. Clunk it at the highest point/or bust the pack and allow Pickett and Spargo to go to work
  2. Cryptic, but sounds like there is a Jesse Hogan like story behind his wish to return home. Personal reasons? Family illness? Something of that nature. If that is the case, i feel for the bloke. I think we have reached a point where the club should consider releasing a statement. The circus around this is a distraction heading into the pointy end.
  3. I thought meeting with players still under contract in season was not permitted?
  4. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/a-career-decision-brayshaw-doesn-t-need-to-stick-with-demons-20220223-p59yuf.html?fs=e&s=cl This was an article Niall had written earlier.
  5. So, like every other commentator, Twomey hasn’t got a clue how Fremantle get a trade done. I don’t think they are getting much for Lobb or Acres. It seems like Freo are going to have to get creative.
  6. Hyperbole obviously lost on you. It is undeniable though that West Australians get homesick very easily and inevitably ask to be traded home. The very reason we went cold on Nic Nat.
  7. But you thought you’d compare deployment to war with football. This kid was granted extra home time last year. He lives three hours away. He is not serving in the army. It’s a really unusual comparison. ironically, if he’d made it to the NBA he would have been playing all over the country and likely traded twice in a season. I hope it all works out for him back in WA.
  8. Oh, so @Ethan Tremblayjust had to mention he was in the military, wear his service in Afghanistan and Iraq as some badge of honour, then tell me I could call him soft to his face. Right. What would have happened if you deserted your service group while serving Ethan?
  9. Always staggered me that Tony Libratore, who was a Carlton coach at the time, went on one of the TV programs and blatantly admitted tht the Blues had tanked. Not a single further question was ever asked of the Blues and they were never pulled over the coals like us!
  10. He was asked to disclose his long term plans. He has been in Melbourne barely. Two COVID years, and now he is ready to pack up and take the big pay day. Sorry, but if he does that, despite it being his right, I will lose respect for him.
  11. Yeah, but there is the issue of him being extensively interviewed by the club and asked about moving home. This was done at the beginning of the draft. He made certain guarantees to the club and said he loved living here and had been here for Basketball and had an uncle here. The club were sucked in by this and took him. Now, like all soft West Aussies, he can’t be without his mum’s cooking and the small country town life Perth offers.
  12. Something that Freo don’t have. You are completely correct and I don’t understand why the media aren’t discussing this more. He is going for a packet of crisps, Freo have nothing, as they tied all their players up, so how does this deal get done. Jackson doesn’t see. Like the type of kid who will screw the club, if he chooses to leave. Freo are going to have to give up a player and two first rounders you’d think. They may get a future second back from us.
  13. Sorry this comes from TikTok, I couldn’t find a YouTube version, but how was this not a high tackle? Sure enough the first two he ducks and it’s rightly called play on, the third tackle is a still a high tackle:
  14. Petty has a great ability to read the ball in flight and his mits are solid. No reason he couldn’t become a forward. The way we are currently putting the ball inside 50 would actually suit him. I’ve always liked the idea of J.Smith forward. I was at that Brisbane game at Casey where he kicked 6, ironically standing with his father. He was great and showed a lot of promise. He would have work to do, but great to know it’s being reconsidered
  15. Having just listened to David King and Joey Montagna on Fox Footy, the Bulldogs are certainties this week. In fact, according to King, the Dogs exposed us in Rd 1 and it was only luck we won. This bloke is a complete tool. He flips his opinion weekly. Can’t stand him
  16. I’d rather keep Brayshaw and lose Jackson. To lose both to Freo would be a disaster, given Freo has zero draft/trade capital and is also on the window. Essentially, we’d be making one of our rivals stronger.
  17. Grundy seems injury prone and only plays well when his contract is up for renewal. Pass
  18. looks like we are back at Casey today.
  19. Great, so how do Freo satisfy us? This has been the missing piece in the media conjecture the whole time. He isn’t going for free.
  20. Interesting to note that no players had footy boots on at all. Everyone in sneakers/runners. Is that normal ? Had the surface not settled? I have no idea, just asking the question.
  21. Sorry, I responded to you and not the other poster. Yep, we agree. Below AFL standard. Very ordinary
  22. Must have been watching a different game to me. He missed basic handballs when we are surging forward, his kicking is suspect, and he continually handballs to opposition in congestion in the guts.
