  1. She was 15 out, running into an open goal, kicked it on the full. Sorry, but if you saw the Saints girl do it yesterday from the actual goal square, you would have to conclude this is a lack of skill across the competition issue. Hore is one of our more skilled players, but her goal kicking has let her down all season.
  2. Based on the VFL grand final, Chandler has the desire and consistency to make it at AFL level. Better all round player, whereas Bedford had moments of brilliance. We have that in Kozzy, so it makes sense to go with Chandler. If Kozzy leaves, that’s a disaster
  3. It’s amazing how chuffed the Eagles fans are with recruiting him. I don’t think he has ever been particularly highly regarded by opposition fans, but he is a superstar all of a sudden if you read social media. I really like Hunt, but he has serious limitations, they revolve around decision making and ball use. He was a very late bloomer and wasn’t really rated at Brighton Grammar, until his senior year. His pace set him apart, but he just lacked a little footy nous
  4. Hahahah. Well, let’s clear the elephant in the room on that one…absolutely loved the Grand Final victory last year. Made a lifetime of supporting the Dees worth it…however, like many here, sitting on the couch in the middle of a 2 year lockdown was hardly how ai imagined it. It was very bitter sweet, if I’m being completely honest! I suppose this is why we were all so eager to see B2B. I think the only negativity I’ve shown is in regards to list management. I do not believe the list is as complete as it needs to be, if we are to go back to the top of the mountain. 2021 was the result of superior and supreme fitness, our depth wasn’t really tested. If you stand still, you go nowhere. I’m very eager to see what the club has planned this trade period. I am hopeful it’s not like last year, where the only experience we added was Dunstan, who played almost the whole season in the ressies. I hope Grundy/Gawn work out and one can become a damaging forward of some sort.
  5. Hunt is gone, which is pretty sad, especially given he will leave for an unused pick. Injury got him at the wrong time, otherwise he’d be a premiership player. Again, we better be picking up some players from other clubs to replenish this depth.
  6. I stand corrected.. so 26 games in 2 seasons. His form in 2020 was not good. 2021 was reasonable, but nowhere near 2018-2019. His stats here confirm it: https://afltables.com/afl/stats/players/B/Brodie_Grundy.html
  7. Grundy of 2018 would have been a big deal. The bloke has barely played football in 2 years and comes in under the cloud of injury. If, and it’s a massive if, he can get back to that form, we win. If he breaks down, we are up the creek with a Weid
  8. I agree tht system wins out, but you must be mad to deny that there was a drop off from ANB, Spargo, Rivers, Sparrow, Jordon…which clearly impacted our ability to win..
  9. Patronising reply ? Young fella? I’m probably older than you. Read comments in full before responding with junk replies and remember yours is just an opinion, like everyone else around here. Mine is Grundy doesn’t solve the forwardline issue, nor the lack of speedy ball movement. End.
  10. I dunno if you are being a smart [censored] or seriously don’t get the the statement I made. So, I’ll spell it out… our issues were forward connection and lack of pace. We lack a smart and skilled ball user and have no rebounding pace. Grundy, is not solving either issues next year. He simply replaces Jackson. He does NOT improve the list one iota
  11. And it is precisely this attitude that will see us plateau …. our list is overrated. Outside the top end, the bottom 6 are not great. You win premierships by improving your bottom 6. I hope to hell we are taking that attitude and not the one you’ve expressed
  12. Absolutely not enough. We need pacey ball users. The players we are likely to lose need replacing with more quality, otherwise this list will completely plateau. We did not better the list last year, we need to this year. Grundy alone does not address one single issue we had this year.
  13. Absolutely not enough. We employed that strategy last year and the competition caught up with us. Smart recruiting from the sides around us helped propel them this year. We all hope that some of the VFL guys will come on next year, but the fact that so few debuted this year says we need to be more aggressive this trade period.
  14. Reckon he will end up at Collingwood as steak knives in a deal for Grundy
  15. Narkle is out of Geelong, is he worth looking at? Seems to possess talent, just inconsistent.
  16. So what are we getting? According to the paywalled HUN article? Any mention of that? Seems to be left out every time they discuss the trade
  17. I do not think we were proactive enough with the list at the end of last year, and probably rightly so at the time. It all looked set. A few players in our bottom six just didn’t step up this year, and we didn’t quite have the talent below them to push us to the same level. The decision now is do we need to target players and tinker the game plan. We smashed Geelong last year and they’ve bounced back emphatically through smart list management and adjustments to the way they play. It can be a quick turnaround
