  1. You must now have read my post correctly. The action, of spearing players is similar. He does it within the rules. his hit was late, but not high. it's almost a spinning move . anyway, it's done now. we have cut our losses and moved on.
  2. The hit by the kid from the Crows, McAdam, is another test for the MRO. As bad as Kozzie’s. Player stayed down. Now ruled out with a head knock, I believe. Certainly went for the concussion test
  3. first highlight in this package shows a very similar action. Defence team needs to argue it’s always been a part of his game and not outside the rules
  4. I’d like to tip my hate to Tommo. I had my doubts, but he was more than alright tonight. Really hope he grabs this opportunity
  5. Where are all the posters who swore Chandler was a decent kick for goal
  6. Jack Reiwoldt reckons both sides will be there at the end of the season. Hahah. And goes on to say Carlton play a lot like Melbourne. In what way?
  7. The commentary is boring. The game is boring. The atmosphere feels like 35k on a Sunday arvo
  8. On Tomlinson, surely he knows he is essentially playing for his career? Is that motivation for him to step up? He has talent. Injuries may have hampered him. We know the game means a lot to him, it was on show after our GF win. Let’s hope he treats it as a lifeline and finds the form he had in patches over the last couple of seasons. The practice games don’t fill me with confidence, but would be very happen to be proven wrong
  9. Chandler and Laurie….I’d have had Sauce Baker ahead of both at this stage of their careers. Agree with you
  10. I’ll share your optimism when I see who we name in place of May. We have some talls that we could bring in, but I’m not convinced we will. If we go with Joel Smith or Tomlinson, I think we at a major disadvantage down back. Lever does not play 1 on 1, and Petty struggles on talls. Agree with others that we will see the rucks drop back, but that carries injury risk for them.
  11. If May was a confirmed out, why would the club not just announce it with the other outs. Why allow it to play out in the media? Simply to try and fool the Dogs? Surely they’d have wind of what’s really going on anyway. There are no real secrets in footy these days.
  12. Spot on. However, there needs to be careful selection of another tall. McDonald may have to swing back. We will need another presence up in the forward line. I'd back Schache in against his old mob. He can play both ends and has the VFL form to warrant selection
  13. Absolutely no way to Tomlinson. He has completely lost it. He gets monstered by VFL players
  14. What has Laurie shown at any level in the past 12 months? Genuine question. I thought his pre season matches were awful. He looked well off the pace
  15. The test is one of negligence. The group will have to prove that the AFL fell short of its expected duty of care. I wait with great anticipation to see how it will play out.
  16. This has the potential to bankrupt the competition if it gets up
  17. David Schwartz Stephen Tingay Robbie Flower Jeff Farmer Jimmy Stynes
  18. In early, 5:30pm, straight to the Frank Gray Smith bar. Catch up with my ‘footy mates’. Seated by 7. Watch the boys run out from Level 2 wing of the MCC. Go mental for four quarters. Beer at half time in the Percy Beames Bar, then hopefully celebration beverages post game. I’m chomping at the bit.
  19. Recently went to an A League match, it was the most recent Melbourne Derby. An hour before the game, the site crashed! There were 20k people who had purchased ticket forced to lineup while the ticket booths printed physical tickets. It was an absolute disgrace. They are both, Ticketek and Ticketmaster, completely incompetent organisations, but there are no other competitors. As another poster said, it’s a complete duopoly. I’d hazard a guess that this is the reason that crowds were down over the last 2 seasons. The COVID complications and need to reserve seats are also factors. I’m equally interested in how the MCC changes to seating this year impacts crowd numbers. They are back to a walk up system, albeit a limited walk up. I believe many stayed away last year due to the hassle of having to reserve seats, particularly in the first half of the year.
  20. I am going to assume it's the MCC one down near the Bullring
  21. Is it in the MCC museum or the Australian Sport Museum. The link suggested MCC, but the title of this thread suggests otherwise. They are two different museums at the G.
