  1. Good opportunity to get some game time in a few of the fringe players as we come off a 5 day break and a big travel schedule. Kozzie Out, Bedford In Hannan Out, Hunt in McDonald Out, Smith In Would be good to find a spot for Lockart - perhaps Spargo out and reshuffle Fritch only comes in in leiu of Hannan or Brown. Id keep Brown and worth giving Hunt a run. Bennell to save fro Freo game
  2. 1. Gawn in for Preuss; 2. Rivers in for Sparrow (Harmes forward/tag); 3.Bedford in for Spargo; 4. Hunt in for Hannan
  3. he wants to come home to victoria. imagine him and Picket at the feet of Weeds and Jacko?
  4. last night was pathetic. cant deny it. like most long serving supporters and members I have never been flatter (other than 2018, and 2007-14, and most of the 70's and 80;s). Lets hope it was just issues over the 4 day break and we do bounce back but this must be the line in the sand. changes are required. The TMac experiment as a forward is over - back to defense you go and Omac back to scratch matches. Harmes needs a a rest and as much as we love Oliver in his inside work he just needs to be dropped and practicing his execution and kicking skills - deplorable. Jones - we need to find a way to honour hius legacy to the club so we dont treat him like James Mc - but he should not be in the side. Pickett will be a star, but he needs a rest and some work on skills. Changes for this week: IN: VdB, ANB, Bennell, Tomlinson, Rivers, Brown, Bedford, out: Harmes, OMac, Jones, Fritch, Pickett, Oliver, Jackson
  5. If TMac comes in it can only be for Jackson - and its only due to structure and opposition - otherwise for most other teams he would stay this week. If AVB is injured, you can only play Tomlinson on wing. We tried everyone there last year and all failed dismally. Other than that, dont change a winning side unless you have to.
  6. Also played a bit as a key forward with GWS with some success
  7. Tomlinson in for TMac; Jones or ANB in for Melksham; maybe Smith for Jetta
  8. If TMac is out why not consider Tomlinson as CHF,? Tall, mobile, can grab and not a bad kick. Otherwise Melk out for Brown
  9. I think we are jumping the gun on this so far. Yes we are 1 and 3 and have not been consistent but there has been some good passages. Also, we have only played 4 games (1 less than the majority of the comp) and the 3 we lost to have been 3 of the best performing teams of the last 3+ years. Further if it wasnt for 1 bad quarter in each game we will have had 2 wins, a much better % and games against Richmond and WC would be much closer. No doubt commentary would be much different. I see Port starting to cop it today after they lost to Brisbane and the pressure is on if the lose to GWS. Lets remember they have beaten Adelaide, Freo, Eagles (not the R1 team in Perth) and the Suns (R1). How fickle it all is. As a 40+ year supporter and member I too am as frustrated as anyone on the club, players and coach and hope the 2019 year was an aberration, however the next 4-5 weeks will tell where we sit (starting with this week) so I am trying to cool my heels a liitle on determining where we are until we have a better body of work to determine it. Go Dees!
  10. swing the changes, bring it back to basics with targets and quality delivery: 1. Weideman and Brown in for Hunt and Melksham (taller, reliable marks, better targets) 2. OMac for Smith (Reluctantly) 3. Bennell for AVB - AVB will be back later 4. Jetta for Lockhart - Like Lockhart but he needs to improve his skills 5. Jones for Rivers - Rivers is the future but he needs to earn his spot.
  11. Time to shake it up: In Weids and Brown, OMac, Bennell, Jones and Jetta Out - Hunt, Smith, VB, Melksham, Rivers and Lockhart
  12. Surely just focus on quality and simplicity. Quality delivery (includes Bennell), a FWD target who can mark it or bring it to ground (has to include Weideman) and some crumbers. Oh and a fwd set up that means not everyone goes to the same spot and fly's together.
  13. It appears more of the same. we dont really have a focal point up front. Surely a TMac, Weideman at FF, CHF staightens us up and gives a focal point forward. the mid /small forward line just is not working. also O.Mac in for Smith frees up Lever to play more intersept. for what its worth.....i think its a pretty good set up.: B Jetta May Lever HB Salem O.MacDonald Harmes C Langdon Brayshaw Tomlinson HF Hannan T.MacDonald Petracca F Fritch Weideman Pickett Fol Gawn Oliver Viney Int Bennell Hibberd Melksham Hunt
