  1. I have connections with the Steele family - they are a very supportive, caring and well grounded family. performance + injury aside, this is another great team culture move.
  2. I’m with you. But unfortunately Goody / leadership let the culture fester. From a distance, it seems like there were highly touted, big contract premiership players and the new kids were second class citizens.
  3. Wow thanks. I’ll have a look this weekend, then chat with my stepmother and come back with a summary of what I find. Much appreciated…
  4. Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone had heard of Eddie (Ted) Esposito. My stepmother - his daughter - recently gave me two premiership medals he won with Eaglehawk back in the 1930s. He also played 60 games for the Dees from 1929-31, and was a bit of a cult figure. He was a midfielder / wingman. He was named in the Eaglehawk Team of the Century in 2005. His father also played for Eaglehawk and I have a premiership medal from 1894 that he won. Anyway, long story short, I was thinking of giving the medals to Eaglehawk FC, but I saw that the Australian Football Museum also had some memorabilia from the Espositos, so might contact them too. Anyone heard of him? Appreciate any info from the passionate and knowledgeable Demonlanders here.
  5. …and I have to rename myself! …ok, done. (nee Spargonicus)
  6. Langford is next multi levels
  7. Hey what’s happened to Hunt?
  8. Came here to say this: our fumbling is constant.
  9. My pick for comment of the year. Thanks. Droll, depressing but also, just plain funny.

  12. 100% agree that it’s mostly between the ears. As I’ve said, compare the Magpies to us on the field. Or between us now and during our ‘unbeatable’ patch a little while ago. We’ve got the talent. The first three quarters proved that. We looked a million dollars. While they may have been fatigued, that was a total mental capitulation. Culture and belief are a million tiny things. Collingwood have it. On a positive note, I haven’t given up that we can get it back, but will need strong and consistent leadership.
  13. Culture goes deep in organisations. Good culture is very hard to build and maintain, and it’s fragile. It’s a million tiny things. I still track the decline to the May/Melksham incident. That doesn’t happen in a team that cares about each other. As much as we all hate Collingwood, look how they rally around each other.
  14. Completely stopped. We are so unfit.
  15. Just no energy and awareness. So many games we just don’t show up at the beginning too. Some psych issues at the club for sure.
