  1. ..... and don't even mention holding the ball. These days it seems that a player can take the ball, run 10m and then get tackled but if he immediately drops the ball at his feet the umpires let it go, presumably on the basis that it was "knocked out in the tackle". Just rubbish.
  2. I agree entirely. I have always thought that 1990 was the one that got away. And I also was completely confident with Petty in the form he was in. Now we need to make a statement to the rest of the comp - we need to win with authority! And then TMac in next week to provide at least an option.
  3. I thought the ball was deflected. The issue was confused by the commentators saying that it hit the padding which it clearly didn't.
  4. I swear i saw twice in the last 2-3 minutes that free kicks were paid against a Carlton player, when the player had the ball in his hands, and he just dropped it to the ground - no 50 paid. In each case out would have brought the GC player within about 15 m of the goals.
  5. That is a tall forward line!!!
  6. I cannot think we will go out of the top for - and if we did, we don't deserve a flag. It's all about top two as far as I'm concerned. Go Pies (gulp); go Freo (gulp again)!!
  7. Having a "take it easy" mindset at ANY time in a game is a recipe for disaster.
  8. I doubt if they are tanking, and I don't think any team would at the moment. Surely the lesson has been learned: the draft picks you get can turn out to be duds, and the damage done to team culture is irreparable. Surely, we know that, and I suspect every team has learned from that lesson.
  9. I am completely confident e we can beat either of these teams.
  10. Well that clip is full of it. So no doctor has ever had an injury not respond as predicted? So they should have predicted the infected foot and the setback? And on their figures, he obviously should be a Casey Player....... ...... Full of it
  11. One aspect of his coaching that is not recognised is his capacity to make adjustments to the game at half time. Somehow he just tinkers with things - don't ask me how- and all of a sudden it "looks like a Melbourne game". Of course, many on here think he is a terrible game day coach but there are many games where we improve noticeably after half time (eg last Sunday).
  12. Watching the interview, i can't understand the fuss here. He wasn't rude or arrogant, he was saying it as it is - he needed to get through training and hoped he could play.
  13. So Oliver has polled in 9 out of 10 matches!!?!!??
  14. Everyone loves Bont. But i remember in the great GF that straight after Bont was given every accolade under the sun by BT, Oliver took a bit of responsibility for him and that was the end of Bont......
  15. Don't forget his accurate kicking
  16. Exactly. Draft picks are a lottery at the best of times.
  17. As i just posted on another thread: fun fact, despite all our forward woes, we are back to being the highest-scoring team in the league.
  18. Fun fact: despite our well known forward woes, we are back to being the highest-scoring team in the league.
  19. How Carlton could let him go is beyond me. Third-generation of a unique Carlton family. He brings his heart and soul to playing for that club, and that is what his strength is. I'm not sure he could do that for another club.
  20. It might have to be this. Brown is no longer the answer, particularly under finals pressures.
  21. I do hope we haven't found our full forward just to lose him again 😪😪😪
  22. Of course i want Geelong to win so second spot is available but, honestly, i absolutely hate them. Has any Geelong player, EVER, accepted that the free paid against him was deserved. I would love to see the dissent rule enforced against them.
  23. That's true. He is quite admirable in that regard.
