I'm going to guess that the odds of a mark and goal in the forward line are lower than a crumber cleaning up around a pack and kicking a goal. I might be wrong but it would explain a lot. On Tomlinson, a few weeks back we were calling for his head, then he played a decoy role on McKay and a good game against the Pies. Just calm the farm. I think he has a spot down back with petty up forward. I think we need to bench the resting ruckman for awhile and get them fresh for Sept. The loading may or may not be finished but the next few weeks will show. All tracking well in my opinion.

I think they might start the night with Petty forward with Smith and see how that looks for the future (dry September MCG) However if our defence leaks then we can switch Petty back and then see how that performs. I still think it's possible to play 3 talls back and forward.
