Agreed, the problem for Maynard is after reaching both arms in the air to try and affect the kick he rolls his shoulder straight into Brayshaw's head. Maybe he couldn't or be expected to do anything else but I believe the rules state he owes Brayshaw a duty of care. I reckon he fails in that duty. I actually like him as a player, he's one I'd love on our team.

Whilst I don't think Maynard wanted to hurt Brayshaw, if the law states he owes a duty of care to him he clearly failed in that duty. He leaves the ground and hits Brayshaw in the head with his shoulder knocking him out cold. I'm not sure where his defence lies. JVR will get 2 weeks.
