  1. Also, it has been mentioned multiple times but his partner is from Adelaide. Perhaps she wants to get home to family as well. If he's in a serious relationship that is considering the next stages, then being around/closer to both families makes it a lot harder to argue with.
  2. At the very least, he offers something a little different
  3. Surely Logan McDonald is the one there, Darcy and Jacko have them stacked for rucks
  4. Both are decent kicks at goal too, uncomplicated and reliable. Not many other clubs have 2 key forwards 23 or under who’d be first choice. If Petty holds up, we are sorted for a few years with Jeffo developing. As for mids though 👎🏼
  5. Apparently Curtin has grown to 197cm too. If that’s the case, he’d be a very, very handy acquisition at CHB for us.
  6. Butters value would be higher than Clarry, every day of the week. Butters will command huge offers next year
  7. I hope you mean which player, as in there’s 4-5 to choose from.
  8. Problem is, T-Mac won’t get through 20 games.
  9. Jack Darling career goals - 510 Tom McDonald career goals - 165 Ben Brown career goals - 353 He’s still a far better player than those two currently and he’s always been better over the journey. I didn’t actually realise he’d been that prolific, West Coast did well keeping Kennedy and Darling for as long as they did
  10. I think this works from the club’s perspective as well as Harrison’s. They might never get this currency for Petts again. For all the same reasons listed, it makes sense for both parties
  11. I know you need to trade something of value to get something of value but JVR is an absolute ripper. You can’t teach that appetite for contest. We already have 3 of the best players in the competition on our list, I prefer we enhance the mid to low range so they don’t need to do as much heavy lifting.
  12. Would have been interesting conversations between the Melbourne recruiting team and the Richmond team. Yze/Tiges would have been mad to let this happen
  13. Lachie Neale would like a word
  14. If pick 1 is being traded, surely the AFL are keeping that on ice until the draft
  15. I tend to agree with @Damo above, I’d take it. I love Petty and would be pretty shattered to lose him as I think he’s great when up and running, at either end. His journey so far has been very stop start, so he could be perennially injured. Hypothetically, if we got pick one though, I’d go to North to split it rather than take Reid. Then we could grab two of McKercher/Sanders and Duursma and fill two gaps instantly, bringing the level of our whole 18 up, rather than just one player
  16. Watching JUH in dees colours would be the stuff of my dreams. He’s going to be a bonafide star.
  17. Not sure 6 & 11 would get us that high
  18. Probably relevant to yourself and @DeeSpencer, the McStay deal was organised well before last year. He didn’t just pop up, Pies played a long game to bring him home
  19. At the very least, he’d be a good stepladder for JVR and Petty to jump onto. Maybe even strap padding to his back inside the jumper
  20. Salo was very good but I think the two listed have him well and truly covered in the air. Hear’s hoping he finds that form again after a horror two years
  21. I think there’s been enough hints and suggestions about him to give an idea of why it didn’t happen.
  22. I don’t know if it’s a problem on my end but I’d take Menegola > Harmesy every day of the week. What are the other clubs seeing?
  23. Despite our best efforts not to be, I think we are. Collingwood ride the wave of their supporters very well and their discipline is excellent. If we went at them with Petty at full fitness, I think they would struggle. I also think we have serious flaws, like everyone else does, so that doesn’t say a lot for them.

From the highlights only, He looks like he’d be a few years off having an impact at AFL level. I’m not as big on him as some of the other projected top ten.
  25. I think throughout the year I also mentioned McCarthy and Bailey as the type of player we desperately need. Half forwards who play as forwards first, are opportunistic and make their chances count. The Grand Final was the perfect example - I know they didn’t win but those guys (along with Joey) could not have done much more. Coleman has quickly become the player every team wants. He is sublime. If I was creating a team from scratch, he’d almost be the first player I would pick. He executed all the way through the finals too, very classy player. I think Wanganeen-Milera from the Saints is similar, at least he had a patch this year where he was. It looks like Reid/McKercher/Duursma could play the Bailey role from Round 1 and if there is any chance the Oliver trade happens, we are guaranteed at least one of that trio. The flow on effect from this positional upgrade would be enormous
