  1. Feel like the clearance losses are not by accident, I remember Hawthorn were big on this. Problem is we still don’t have great field kicks getting their hands on the footy for the next possession. Going from Melbourne’s colder week to warmer and greasy conditions made for a very difficult affair. Suns are better than I thought they would be and Anderson had an absolutely incredible day. Was Humphrey the player JT was super keen on? He looks the goods
  2. I’ve always thought Sexton from GC was good at AFL level, if only a little patchy. He’d be too good at this level
  3. Terrific work, Andy. Maysie is very well spoken but also not afraid of the truth.
  4. I’d like to know how intimidated you are, Andy? I’m not sure whether he’d actually answer honestly but I’d like to know how he feels about 1 on 1 defending of years gone by versus the modern zoning. Is it difficult to wrap your head around the fact that your direct opponent could kick goals that have very little to do with your own efforts?
  5. Big test for these boys!
  6. The sub rule is just ridiculous for players pushing for selection. Laurie had 5 mins of footy for the week and then he’ll probably get dropped to get ‘match conditioning’ Absolutely bizarre setup
  7. Was a very clean hit, just split the middle of the wrong bloke. Sparrow is tough
  8. Clarry and Trac are still only mid 20’s, we need to complement them rather than find another version of them. Imagine how good Nick Daicos would be for us being fed by Clarry, Trac and Max
  9. I’ve watched a few highlights of Reid and admit he’s very good. His recent game in the Gather Round was apparently superb against bigger SANFL bodies. He looks to be quite good aerially which is a huge bonus for a mid. But.. There’s something about the fend offs that bothers me, I hate it when anyone does it and a young guy that’s built his game around it just doesn’t excite me. Tackling has never been better and most AFL players are still strong enough to get a handball away in a tackle. For what it’s worth, I wouldn’t want to risk 3 picks on one player however I can see the appeal from an immediate impact perspective

    Does that count kick ins?
  11. This was my favourite part of the entire game! F#%* Off and let me kick a goal

If it’s a confidence thing, he could not be lower. I think he’s either carrying an injury or worried about a re-injury, I reckon he’s only able to go at 85%. He’s been poor 1 on 1 and he’s not hitting anything at full steam (opponents/contests or the ball). Even his kicking looks restrained

Daicos could literally walk away from Brayshaw
  14. I know it’s a Kozzie thread but JJ was good last night, he’s a calm operator in my opinion. Is not flashy or particularly brilliant in any area but he gets the job done each week
  15. The morning after and I am concerned with Steven May’s body, his two best assets are his pace and competitiveness. He’s clearly carrying an injury because he can barely get out of a jog at the moment. At one point in the last quarter, Grundy ran straight past him like he was standing still. I said in the game day thread that the young boys were the ones to get us going in the last quarter and it was great to see. Oliver and Trac had games that were workmanlike at best, this was an even contribution across the ground.
  16. Kozzie needs to get back to basics, he’s trying to do the impossible all the time. Just hunt the footy and bodies and the rest will come
  17. If JVR doesn’t get you excited, nothing will. Plenty to work on still but gee it’s good to wrestle back momentum and grind a win out. Judd ‘knuckles’ McVee is some find too, love his composure
  18. That’s a kid that can play. Chin’s goal was on him and then this
  19. It feels like if we can kick two in a row we could win by 30+ Fingers and toes crossed that it miraculously happens
  20. The younger blokes have a bit of energy about them, get on board senior fellas
  21. It’s a huge concern that teams can so easily pick their way through our zone with short kicking. Our mids rely on momentum going forward and they are burning all their matches chasing tail for 20m kick after 20m kick. We have the best ruckman of the modern era and two of the best mids in the game and our inability to manufacture clearances consistently is woeful.
  22. I’m not sure sitting the ball on a 19 year old kids head is setting him up for success. We've gone back to kicking and hoping
  23. Trac’s out there standing still and trying to throw everyone off him. He’s trying to do too much, again.
  24. Not to raise the alarm but I’ve just come out the other side of the flu, 1 week properly bed ridden and then 2 weeks well below par to follow. I’m not old (37) nor am I an elite athlete but I’m fitter than most. This is the sickest I’ve ever been Hope Clarry is ok
  25. Good example of the traditional pathways not being the be all, end all. With so many players in various comps across the country, there’s no way the AFL has the 700 odd ‘best’ players in the land. Every person on here that’s played senior footy would know of people more than capable of handling AFL but didn’t have the desire/schooling/cash etc Onto Ash the player, he’s a poor man’s Fritsch, we can’t afford to play with two of them and a couple of genuine talls. It’s a no from me
