  1. It's going to be a grind
  2. The club is in really good shape at the minute. Plenty of depth at Casey and great to see everyone looking so sharp. No one in the first team can take their place for granted that’s for sure.
  3. I don;t know why people expect this. We have a make-shift forward line. I'll take the 4 points anyway we get them. I expect to win but i have no expectations about a big win. In fact i prefer tough battles. The doggies have been excellent but beating up on the Suns and North won;t stand them in good stead come September.
  4. Jeez, the MFCSS has really gotten a hold of you today. The Hawks are competitive but don’t have much class. The cats were there for the taking on Easter Monday and they couldn’t get the job done I don’t for second think we will be complacent. We’ve lost 2 key players so that should keep our feet on the ground and minds on the job. I’d be more worried if we’d been playing like Sydney and everyone was telling us we were the second coming but that’s not the case. The first 4 rounds we’ve brought consistent pressure and application and I expect the same today. We could have a bad day forward of centre and the Hawks might play out of their skin, convert all their set shots but it’s unlikely. I expect a tough game but we have more quality across the field. I’m confident we’ll win.
  5. It a good point but I think we’ve been pretty good at bringing the ball to ground (LJ in particular doesn’t get beaten in the marking contest) for spargs, kozzie and nibbler to apply their pressure. Hopefully Tmac, Mitch and LJ can clunk a few so compensate for the loss of Fritta.

I jumped on this thread expecting everyone to be bagging the Giants strip but for once some love for an away guernsey. I really liked it. I think wearing black gives a team a more imposing, threatening look. Think the all-blacks rugby team. Real Madrid and Juventus have black away strips as well which look great.
  7. A 7-0 is equivalent to 186. I haven't been to a Victory game for a few years but there must be something rotten at the core of the club to serve up efforts like last night.
  8. Carlton are treading water, going nowhere fast. They haven't haven't nailed a draft which you have to do to provide the foundations for a finals team. Ourselves, Port and Freo have gotten it right and will be at the pointy end for a few years off the back of it. I reckon they'll be ripping it all up and starting again after next season.
  9. We must apply the heat and pressure from the first bounce. The Hawks are dogged and resolute but are lacking some class particularly in their forward line. They came from the clouds to beat Essendon in rd 1 so there’s nothing wrong with their ticker. Should have beaten the cats on Easter Monday. Were competitive v Richmond. We can’t take them for granted at all. And they still have the master coach calling the shots. He’ll have a plan for us no doubt. We have the advantage in midfield and our defensive structures will hold. Looking forward to seeing how Petty and Hibbo go here. Kicking goals will be our challenge. The forward line has a very makeshift look to it so we could really do with Tmac clunking and converting a few, with an even contribution from the rest and our mids chipping in as well. Perhaps 2 or 3 from Maxxy. I expect a tough hard-fought battle today but we’ll win by 25 points or thereabouts. Go Dees
  10. They have. Also, they’ve been doing one thing we haven’t. Putting teams away.
  11. I reckon the doggies could be firing all their bullets too soon. If I was a doggies fan i'd prefer to be turning in performances like this later in the season.
  12. Reckon bitters would bring out the deviant and degenerate vote. It’s a surprisingly large constituency I understand.
  13. He's being managed i reckon. Has more than held his own over the first 4 rounds.
  14. Tobby Greene is a sensational footballer. Great mark and goal. Grand stand finish here

Ex crims who have realised the error of their ways often spend time trying to educate younger folk who are susceptible to crime to follow a different path. there is nothing unusual or remarkable about that. As i said he has to be genuinely remorseful not for being caught but for what he did. i have no idea whether he is or isn't sorry about that and neither do you. If he has spent the past few months educating himself then perhaps he does know now how women should be treated. Again i don't know. And i don't remember saying anything about his celebrity making him any more or less wise or knowledgeable. It's neither here nor there. An unknown bloke in the same position could speak to this issue just as well, better perhaps.

If he is truly sorry and recognises the error of his ways then yes it would be worthwhile him speaking to other young men. He has seen both sides of the story so could speak with more authority. He does need to be genuinely remorseful though. It can't be part of some PR rehabilitation exercise.
  17. I did. We acknowledged each other and then both continued on with our shopping. Hopefully there's reason for a few more Dees guernseys to start to emerge. I've been wearing the scarf to work this week and have had a few acknowledgments.
  18. On the day we weren't good enough. Still glad the Crows didn't win today. They had home advantage and couldn't seal the deal.
  19. We would have beat the Crows at Casey in a prelim. We belted just a few weeks ago there. They got lucky with their draw. Simple really.
  20. Doggies sensational. Suns pathetic.
  21. Just back from the supermarket. Saw a Dees fan wearing the guernsey with pride as he’s doing the weekly shop. Great to see.
  22. Didn’t see the game but I’m happy Brisbane beat Adelaide in the womens final. The Crows got home finals because of a soft draw and got lucky playing us in the prelim when they did as we were exhausted from backing up against some strong teams for a few weeks straight. Brisbane had to play a few road games at the end of the H&A season due to the covid outbreak up there so they didn't have it easy. Well done to them. We beat both finalists so the future is bright, just need to find a KPF to help translate our possession and I50's into goals.
  23. I believe so although i'm no draft guru either. Better to move on the future first rounder in return for something of value now and next year package up a number later rubbish picks to be able to match the bid on daicos.
  24. I'm not confident either. Neither the Suns or Carlton have been at all convincing. More it would be a nice surprise to see our direct rivals lose a game.
  25. Hoping the Suns can ambush the doggies today. And i wouldn't mind seeing Port come unstuck either although the downside will be a week of the media pumping Carlton's tyres.
