  1. Nathan Jones. Very good player who soldiered on valiantly during some very very lean years. Such a pity he couldn't make the grand final team
  2. He's young and will bounce back I'm sure We have great options to cover his injury. Would love to see Thommo get the nod (if fit). He was outstanding until injured last year (iirc he held Hawkins to one goal in our early season clash with the Cats)
  3. Quality is definitely down this year. There have not been many great games (Crows v doggies on the weekend was excellent but few and far between) Don;t think a re-draft is the answer. Players have developed loyalties to their club and teammates and won't want to switch The comp has expanded too quickly. We need less teams not more
  4. Carlton fans will be very surprised to hear they have 3 elite defenders on their team And as for Nic Nat. i don't understand the fawning. His fitness levels are appalling for a so called professional. Imagine what kind of player he could be if he was bothered to build a tank like Maxy has
  5. 5. Hanks 4. Mithen 3. West 2. Harris 1. Paxy
  6. Thought we played well other than goal-kicking. Pressure up and some players finding form which is positive L Pearce, Mithen, Paxy, Goldy, West and Hanks best. Harris took some strong grabs. And she loves hurting people. Leading goal kicker in the comp now I think McNamara uncharacteristically quiet but she’s been great all year GWS very very limited We’ve beaten who’ve we had and have the 5 wins on the board but the going gets tough from here. Huge test against the Lions next week. That game will show us whether we’re genuine contenders or not Go Dees
  7. And another. floodgates open now. Keep your foot on the throat ladies. Percentage is important
  8. Soft free kick to Harris but we'll take it. That goal finishes this as a contest (not that it ever really was)
  9. If West could kick she'd be some player. She's in the middle of everything today
  10. Shelly Scott shows how its done. We needed that. Atrocious goal-kicking that qtr. The Giants have offered nothing offensively so we should close it out from here
  11. terrible miss fitzsimons. we'll shoot ourselves in the foot here if we're not careful
  12. Dees 2.3.15 to no score for the Giants. that qtr was an arm wrestle. Giants defending stoutly but are offering nothing going forward. We should be further ahead but if we keep the pressure on i think the dam will burst in the second half
  13. 2 excellent deliveries from Mithen to put the ball on the chest of Harris and then Hore. Hore converted. Bad miss from Harris
  14. 2.2.14 to no score GWS. Dees with the wind in the first qtr. Well on top
  15. its being shown live on the afl website
  16. Hanks is a big in Jackie Parry must have some incriminating photos! Her output has been very low this year but hopefully she can find some form today
  17. We'll win. GWS are bang average. I want to see us build on our improved contested work from last week. And hopefully some players form improves particularly Kate Hore. Shelly Scott has been very quiet as well this year. We have a tough run of fixtures coming up against Freo, North and the Lions. We can't afford to have our best players down on form if we're to have a chance of winning those games
  18. At the time i was against trading Jesse but there's no question now we are a better team with Maysie in the side A good lad, well liked and on his day a special player but like Jack Watts didn't have the 100% buy-in and professionalism to play in a premiership team. Injuries are starting to take their toll now but i wish him nothing but the best
  19. It was a mistake to disclose that the team were unwell. His comments will be construed as excuses by the rest of the comp no matter how he trys to spin it. And anyways they were a spent force weeks before the prelim. They were poor against Port and worse against GWS. The only reason they won that game is because the Giants didn’t have any forwards. Outside of the granny itself my favourite memory from last season was Maxy slotting that goal after the siren in Rd 23. That was soooo sweet. It's just a pity there were no cats fans there to witness it
  20. Rotten luck. I hope he makes a full recovery
  21. In response to the OP i reckon he joined to win premierships
  22. Community cases are on the rise over there. Give it 2-3 weeks and the border issue will take care of itself
  23. I'm really looking forward to seeing Purcell play soon. Her toughness around the ball is something we’ve been missing this season. Hopefully she can find form before our tough run of fixtures against North, Lions and Freo. If she can fire from the get go she’ll be a huge in for us
  24. I take your point. Wasn’t a comment specifically on the Dees women more a general comment. There are some in the league who I think could be better conditioned Perkins is a very good player and uses her bulk to very good effect particularly in marking contests. But I think she’s the exception to the rule
