  1. Didn’t realise there was such appreciation for metal on DL. I'll be listening to all the suggestions posted in this thread As a youngster I was big into metal. Thrash, death, grindcore. Mellowed out as I got older and have a real appreciation for the likes of Soungarden but over the past while (might be because of lockdown) I’m listening to all the old metal again. Napalm Death and Carcass are getting a lot of playtime at the moment. In terms of stuff that I never listened to previously (and wish i had) I have to say Meshuggah are a serious band. Very complicated, layered and technically accomplished metal. Their drummer, Tomas Haake, is gifted. They are well worth a listen.
  2. Loved Pantera. Can't enjoy their music anymore seeing as the Abbott brothers are no longer with us. Dimebag was the best metal guitarist, bar none, in my opinion. Such a tragic ending. America is a seriously f'ed up country
  3. Huge moment for Pig. Tough coming into a prelim without playing a game for weeks.
  4. Don't stress folks. We got this
  5. I'm quite busy at work this week so don't have time to think about the game. That said i'm confident. We've fronted up pretty much every game this year, imposed our game style on the opposition and wrest momentum back when things weren't going our way. I'm sure we'll put in a performance on Friday night. Whether it's good enough to win time will tell but i don't think Geelong have a big performance in them. They'll be much more worried about us that we are of them. I don't care how they spin it that collapse in the last H&A will be preying on their minds
  6. "I don't think Gawn scares Stanley either" The dumbest comment i've read from an opposition supporter all year
  7. What’s so crazy about it. Umpires are people and have biases and can be influenced just like the rest of us. Typically home teams are favoured (see the non-calls against us late in the Adelaide game earlier in the year). In the case of the dogs I have no idea why the umpiring favors them so heavily. Might be a statistical quirk, an outlier. But to happen so regularly is very odd. Over the course of a season the 50/50 calls even out. You might be shafted in one game but get the benefit in another game (supporters forget the games the umpires favor them). The doggies have consistently got the 50/50 calls in there favor all year. Good luck to them but i know i would be spewing if that was us on the end of those decisions last nigh, particularly the free kicks in the last quarter. 95% of the time people complaining about the umps are just whinging. The game is nigh on impossible to umpire and i think the umpires go ok all things considered. But the doggies armchair ride is a definite thing and is worthy of a closer look.
  8. You're not alone. The umpiring is being discussed on the Finals week 2 non-mfc thread.
  9. Change thread title to PF Port v Dogs
  10. Great game despite the umpiring. Proper finals football. Lions and their supporters will be filthy
  11. I genuinely hope the doggies get tonked in Adelaide. The lop-sided free kick count is just too much to stomach.
  12. The doggies player dragged the ball in. Had to be a free kick. doggies score from the ball up
  13. The throwing has reached ridiculous proportions
  14. Lions have to score the next goal otherwise its curtains for them
  15. A proper final
  16. Starting to look ominous for the doggies. They can;t get anything happening in their forward 50
  17. blatant throw libba. Ump pings him
  18. If the doggies make it to Perth they'll have travelled more than any other grand finalist. Melbourne to Tassie to Brisbane to Adelaide. It's too much. Not sure who wins tonight. Either way their journey will end next weekend in Adelaide I reckon.
  19. I think we can relate to the message in this tune given our irrelevance for the last 57 years (and brought to you with huge dollops of glam, cheese and 80's perms)
  20. Goody's son Eddie sounds like a crack-up. They should get him on sometime Great interview and great questions as well. It all comes across as honest and authentic. I admit I wasn't a fan of the podcast early days, i just wanted the boys to focus on the footy but i can see its value now. I think Maxy and Gus do a great job representing the club and are a great reflection of the culture that has been built over the last few years.
  21. Great viewing on a damp Saturday morning Would be great if this can be played on repeat in the stadium for an hour before ball-up next Friday night
  22. I’m delighted we’re playing Geelong I suggest people look at their qualifying defeat against Port. The cats wilted under the heat and intensity applied by the power. Allir Allir had a party down back. They were never in it. They made heavy weather of beating an injury ravaged GWS last night They are old and slow and past it I have no worries whatsoever about out mental state or mindset. The psychological boost from our comeback in Rd 23 can’t be underestimated. We were super focused and business like against the Lions. These are the new demons. We will turn up to play next week Heat and intensity to overwhelm the geriatrics. Dees by 6 goals
  23. I really don;t think we should be all that worried about playing Geelong next week. They are old and slow and there for the taking
